The IPL technology actually works—and not after an extended period of time, either. I noticed a visible reduction in hair growth by the third use, and after a couple of months, I’m seeing little to no regrowth for weeks in every area where I used the device. The ice-cooling feature is a game changer. Treatments are nearly painless, even on more sensitive areas, which makes it much easier to stay consistent. I have been using this 4 weeks now , following the instructions and staying consistent. I bought this to remove the cheek hairs that grow above my bread line . I have really really really thick, coarse beard hair and I usually just tweeze them out because they take longer to grow back. If I shave them they grow back in 1 day. Why I didn’t like the tweezing is because it’s time consuming and I wud have ingrown hairs, then most time I try to pluck them the hair breaks and I’m left with a stubble. I have considered going to a professional, but I assumed it wud be expensive and this just seem cheaper and more convenient. Results- After 4 weeks , I can say that the cheek hairs have significantly been reduced . Usually if I shave them in day 1, by day 2 they already grow back with thick stubbles. I have noticed that I can’t see the hairs anymore , when they grow back they are really really thin. When I shave them to use the ulike they shave easily. After 3 days of not using the device , the area is still smooth and I feel no hair when I rub my fingers across . I’m in the maintenance phase now , where I shud only use 2 times a month . This works for me. My complexion is a shade darker than Drake the rapper . I have notice no irritation- only downside is that I can’t use my chemical exfoliation, and retinol serum because they say to use it 1 week after IPL as they will dry out the face . I have oily skin and I’ve notice that for my cheeks I seem to be producing little to no oil from using the IPL. My minor acne scars have seem to improved . I hope this helps for guys/ladies with thick coarse black hair .

Udate (08/16/2023) first device was defective with clouding on the inner lense. The second device now won't detect when it makes contact with skin after a few uses. Im really disappointed in this model. Maybe it's just my luck but I think ulike has a lot to figure out with this latest line of devices. Now I feel like I wasted over $400 dollars on a useless device. I like there devices but I'm extremely disappointed with the new xl. I bought the Ulike IPL device (the black version designed for men), and I’ve been genuinely impressed with the results. The design is sleek and comfortable to hold, and the treatments are quick and painless. I started noticing a reduction in hair growth after just 3 sessions, especially on thicker areas like my chest and arms. What really stood out to me, though, was their customer service. My first device had a lens issue, and they replaced it without any hassle. The replacement works perfectly and shows the company really stands behind their product. If you're a guy looking to reduce body hair without going to expensive laser appointments, this is definitely worth trying. So far, I’m really satisfied and looking forward to continued results!

Their customer service is excellent and attentive Highly recommended for those who need a high-power, reliable device.

I have had some issues with skin sensor failing on high mode but that does not reduce greatness of product , other than that I am very satisfied with outcome

I’ve been using the Ulike X IPL device for a few weeks now and the results have really surprised me. It’s powerful enough to handle coarse hair on my chest and legs, yet the cooling feature keeps it comfortable even at the highest setting. The treatments are quick, especially with the auto-glide mode, and I started noticing a real reduction in hair regrowth within two weeks. It feels well made, is easy to use right out of the box, and there’s no pain or irritation like I’ve had with waxing or shaving. I am very pale with light golden brown to very dark brown/black hair, depending on area. Areas treated: armpits and face peach fuzz I have been using this for 2 weeks, every other day, a total of 8 sessions so far. The first two sessions I did on fast, then medium power, to test my tolerance. The next 6 were on high power. The first 5 sessions were 1 pass with the device over each area. The last 3 sessions were done with 3 passes over each area. The face peach fuzz, which I thought would be a problem as it isn't very dark at all, doesn't seem to grow back already. I am still going over it with the ulike every other day, but I don't need to shave it anymore. I have been shaving it off for years to help with skincare, and it usually starts to be fuzzy in 3-4 days, but it hasn't been coming back at all now. My armpits have very coarse, dark hair. Growth is very fast, stubble the next day after shaving. I do think it is slightly slower to grow and a little more sparse, but I'm not sure about that. The biggest difference I have noticed is how easy it is to shave. The razor doesn't drag and catch on the hairs anymore. It just glides over and cuts the hairs off. This has drastically improved the irritation I used to get, I get no razor bumps or ingrowns, and that's shaving them every other day, which would have left them raw and on fire before. I'm hopeful that I will see more changes in the next few weeks, and I will update at that time. The device itself is easy and comfortable to use, and practically painless. Most of the time I feel nothing at all, but occasionally I'll get a bit of a pinch/rubber band snap feeling, almost like a static shock. The window you press on the skin really is icy cold to the touch, and even as the device gets warmer, that part never does. The part you hold in your hand gets quite warm, but not hot at all. The cooling fans blow gentle warm air too, but nothing uncomfortable. The safety glasses are very dark, and since I can't wear my regular glasses with them, I'm pretty much working blind. This isn't really a problem though, you just have to glide the device over the skin and you don't need to see much for that. So far, results are a big improvement and I'm excited to see how it progresses with more uses! I will update.

First, drop all notions that you'll see results on facial hair in 2 weeks as they claim. Could not be further from the truth. In summary, I not only feel scammed, but the product has some design flaws and issues that prevent it from even functioning well. For context, I was born male and I have very light skin and very dark brown hairs that are relatively coarse. After about a month of use as directed (frequency, settings, cleaning, shaving, etc.), I have the following observations on results: - My facial and neck hair is completely unchanged. Due to the darker parts of my "shadow" from existing hair below the surface, it also frequently reduces output power on the areas I need most because of the skin sensor. More on that later. - Body hair in the torso area (chest, stomach, armpits) is only mildly reduced, perhaps 10-20%. - Pubic area is completely unchanged, 0% reduction in hair or density. - Leg hair is about 70% reduced, resulting in less and finer hairs. Perhaps because this hair is the most fine on my body? This is the only area that I feel it worked appropriately for, but this result still took a full month. Well beyond their claims. Unfortunately, legs are not what I really got the device for and was more of a curiosity. As for the device itself, - The skin sensor only works on areas that don't have shadows due to under-surface hair. For areas like legs, it thus reacts appropriately most of the time. For denser parts of the face, it reduces power so much that it doesn't seem to be effective, though it hasn't been effective even on the lighter parts of my facial hair and neck. - The skin sensor also just bugs out a lot, indicating red. I have to re-seat the device on the skin to get it to read appropriately. - Almost every time I use it, the skin sensor stops working completely at least once. The device is still powered etc., but using it is impossible because the sensor doesn't confirm contact at all (not even the red lights). I have to power it off for about an hour to be able to use it again, which is more than a little inconvenient. - The contact cooling feature is insufficient when used on the High setting. You can only use it continuously for about 3 minutes, then the glass window gets so hot that it's uncomfortable. On Normal mode, the glass window stays somewhat cool. - While the contact cooling is nice when it's working, the area surrounding it (even the part that still touches skin!) gets EXTREMELY hot, and quite quickly. Because of the shape of the device, this is also sort of where you'd want to hold it by on the sides, but you will absolutely burn yourself if you do so. It is THAT HOT. - The interior elements within the lamp started getting cloudy after the first use, and this has only accelerated with use. The manual mentions moisture and misting of the internal elements as normal, but that's not what this is. It's like the lenses are actually degrading. I'm unsure if this impacts function. In summary, it sort of worked on my leg hair, but fails all hair reduction claims otherwise for an ideal skin/hair combo, is poorly designed for folks born male (despite claiming otherwise), poorly designed functionally (e.g. insufficient cooling and hot external surfaces), and I feel scammed. I would really appreciate a refund for this terrible product and deceptive marketing. EDIT: Attached photo of cloudy lens issue

A friend let me borrow her Ulike Air 10 (the purple version of this one!) because she thought her results were a placebo effect, and wanted someone else to guinea pig the device. The results were most definitely NOT a placebo, and it worked so well that I had to buy my own! I have THICK prickly body hair, and I used to be a daily shaver if I wanted to maintain smooth legs, but the Ulike has really cut down regrowth time! I'm not through a full round yet (the instructions for this one say to use every 2 days for 4 weeks, then whenever needed for maintenance,) but it's so refreshing to not have stubble for days after a shave!!

It's not effective, and it sometimes stops working even after a couple of minutes, even if I turn the device off and on. It has to be plugged off, wait a specific time, and then plug back in.
