Hennessy HammockUltralite Backpacker Series - Compact Favorites on The Long Trails

I backpack a lot. I've accrued a lot of backpacking gear. Aside from my Osprey and my socks, this hammock is the best piece of equipment I own. Would recommend.

So far so good, highly recomend seting up a few times before actually taking it on a trip. Grab snake skins, maked the set up and tear down extra fast

First let me start with ,I have been a backpacker for a long time and I search endlessly for gear that is better in one way or another. I own several Hennessey Hammocks from the scout to the Explorer and an Expedition. I also have a Clark NX270. I got the Backpacker UL to try out for the weight savings. It is the same size as the Expedition but weighs in at 1 pound 12 Oz on my scale with the rain fly and snake skins attached. The Clark and the Explorer both weigh the same at 3 pounds 14 oz. The Expedition came in at 2 pounds 10 oz. Anything you can do to save a pound of weight is worth it . I took it out on a 3 day trip for it's first run to find out if it stood up to what I expect from a hennessey hammock. It did with flying colors. The Asem. Design still allows me to sleep flat on my back, on my side or even almost on my stomach. I thought the sil nylon would let the air pass threw too much but that was not a problem. It has about the same breathing properties as the others. It seems to have a somewhat larger fly on it but I have not confirmed that yet. Because of the weight savings I can take the Hex fly along if heavy rains are forcasted and still come out lighter than taking any of the rest of the hammocks. It is well made and appears to be as tough as my Clark but at 1/3 the weight. This backpacker hammock will be the go to hammock for all my trips now . .. unless I plan on camping in a blizzard In 0 degree weather or during a hurricane. The Clark is still king for the worst conditions like that . The Backpacker is perfect for any thing normal to just at extreme weather conditions.

I have been using one of these for 5 years or so...now I'm going off of my motorcycle, so not backpacking but I love this hammock!!! I use the double bottom and 2 pads for more insulation and never get cold ...also had a mishap with my first one... all my falt... sent it back to get fixed, they could not figure out how to fix it so, they sent me a new one when I told them it was my falt...they said no problem we want you happy, here's a brand new one. Outstanding customer service ..thank you Hennessy for a fantastic product!!!

The quarter inch 'rope 'as it's called , is probably the reason the tree huggers in California have shut off Hammock Camping in some state parks .if you use a Hennessy(or small rope/cord) ,please use straps!!!! The Hennessy is comfortable

Bought this hammock 5 years or more ago. Have used it extensively. Jasper North Boundary, Georgian Bay coast, Hells Canyon, and many many more. Own 4 tents, but the Hennessy is my goto on most trips. Ran into a problem with the screen during a middle of the night thunderstorm on my last trip. 10,000 mosquitoe bites later I was less than thrilled.Contacted Hennessy and, like all great companies, they made it "right", and completely stood behind their product. Der Kauf dieses kompletten Hängematten-Systems war für mich ein Glückstreffer.Ich weiß dass es modernere und auch etwas leichtere HM-Systeme gibt, aber wohl keine die in dieser Preisklasse so robust sind. Nach einigen Wochen auf Tour mit meiner Backpacker Ultralight werde ich mein Zelt wahrscheinlich nur noch sehr selten nutzen. Die neue Freiheit, nahezu überall komfortabel schlafen zu können, will ich nicht mehr missen. Ich empfehle die Version mit Reißverschluss. Die Classic Version mit dem Bodeneinstieg ist perfekt für Leute die in absolut mückenverseuchten Gebieten campen wollen. Für alle anderen ist sie eher unpraktisch.Meine anfängliche Sorge, keinen geeigneten Platz zu finden der für HM geeignet ist, hat sich als unbegründet erwiesen. Was soll ich sagen - ich finde sie nahezu perfekt und schlief noch nie besser unterwegs. Natürlich ist sie nichts für Leute, die auf Campingplätzen übernachten wollen....obwohl das sicher auch irgendwie geht. Würde ich sie wieder kaufen? Die Marke ja, aber ich würde, einen leichten (30 Denier) aber etwas größeren Hex-Tarp bestellen. Die kleinen Tarps funktionieren, aber nur wenn man windgeschützt hängt oder den Tarp sehr tief und sorgfältig abspannt. Das Mehrgewicht eines größeren Tarps ist relativ gering, aber man hat damit deutlich mehr Schutz und Komfort bei Regenwetter. Bei gutem Wetter ist der kleine Tarp absolut ausreichend. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis finde ich bei dieser Marke schon sehr gut.

Perfect item for portage trips. I don't miss my tent at all... super lightweight and comfortable. Used this with a thin self-inflatable sleeping pad to help with warmth on my underside and body positioning. It took one or two nights to fully get used to sleeping in, but now I'm looking for excuses to set it up so I can spend more time in it! =D

Super comfortable, really easy to set up and feels like good quality so far. I spent a few nights in the hammock already and am looking forward to some longer trips. I like how whoever designed this put a lot of thought into little details like the pouch for personal belongings or water in the top. So yeah, can highly recommend.

Took some time to get used to. Durable, lightweight. Velcro feature is awesome. You need a sleeping pad or underquilt for this if you're in cold weather.
