Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt2 Adapter

This was exactly what I need to attach an older Mac screen to my new Mac computer. It worked great and I'm glad to be able to use the big screen again.

I have many MiniDV tapes that I want to edit using iMovie. Because the MiniDV format is so old, it has been difficult to find a way to connect a camcorder to my 2016 MacBook Pro. The Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt Adapter was the missing link in my connection from Camcorder to computer. After reading the reviews on Amazon, I wasn’t sure if this would work or not because the reviews are so conflicting. I ordered the adapter because it would make the physical connection I needed and was willing to give it a try. I now have the cable connection completed and have successfully imported video from my camcorder. I have been working for a long time on resolving the connection issue and am very happy to have this working solution. I have included a short video to show how I made the connection and show that I am able to connect to the camcorder and import video.

Does what it needs to do with no issues

I spent a couple of years tracking down older IEEE 1394 cables to connect an older digital tape camera to my new M3 MB Pro. This cable was the golden link to me to be able to archive my home movies from 2000 forward. What a long strange trip it is watching my family and friends life fill the screen. Thanks Apple

I could not get my Lightning Bolt 2 Monitor to work with any computer except my old Macbook Pro that has the older lightning port. I tried a generic adaptor to connect to my new M4 Mac Mini but that did not work. After reading other reviews I spent the $50 on this ridiculously overpriced adaptor and it worked! I will get another 10 years out of this beautiful monitor....so I guess it's worth the $50.

It does what it’s made to do, and helped revive two older Thunderbolt 2 hard drives, making them usable again. Value for the money is questionable but being able to retrieve items off these old drives makes it justifiable.

El cable es de buena calidad y funciona, sin embargo es demasiado caro para lo que ofrece.

J’ai pris cet adaptateur pour brancher mon ancien écran Apple Thunderbolt à mon MacBook Pro 16" M4 Pro, et tout a fonctionné immédiatement. La connexion est stable, rien ne bouge une fois branché, et l’image s’affiche parfaitement. On a vraiment l’impression que les deux appareils ont été conçus pour travailler ensemble. Le seul petit bémol, c’est le prix, qui reste élevé pour un simple adaptateur. Mais en même temps, avec Apple on sait à quoi s’attendre, et la qualité est bien au rendez-vous. Au final, je suis vraiment content de mon achat, surtout que ça me permet de continuer à utiliser mon ancien écran sans souci avec un ordinateur tout neuf.
