"Linden Sweden," what a laugh!
Don't know how well this works, just got it, but it was purchased as a "made in Sweden" item based on what I had seen elsewhere on the net about the Linden Co. While the grinder itself is unmarked, its packaging (on the bottom) clearly states "made in China." I guess I should have realized that "Linden Sweden" is just a ploy. Be aware...UPDATE: It was just too much trouble to return it and to be fair probably every member of this class of inexpensive grinder is made in China (and maybe even misrepresented like this one is) so, after one week of a steady diet of Himalayan rock salt, my apple green "Linden China" packaged (but not manufactured) by Linden Sweden has earned back a fourth star. It will never get that fifth star because of its deceptive presentation, but it has performed adequately thus far.

Great for cumin seeds!
This is a nice spice grinder to keep on your counter. I have only used it for cumin seeds so far and it is fantastic for that. You will never buy pre-ground cumin again. It does require a lot more turning that you would expect (maybe 40 turns for a 1/4 teaspoon), but it's worth it for freshly ground spices.24Apr2012 - I am removing a star because the number of turns required for grinding is just too high. I ended up replacing this with an OXO Good Grips Pepper Mill that has a crank.

Love these
Bought a red one a few weeks back, filled it with peppercorns and LOVE it. Easy to use, Easy to fill, Easy to clean.Nice design, looks good enough to display.Came back to Amazon to find a second one to use for my sea salt. Found this one in white and again, all the same applies.I recommend this for anyone, they are very easy to use if you someone has arthritis or difficultly grasping things, as the entire top is the grinder and is very easy to use.

Great for pepper, misleading company name
I bought this after using some similar designed grinders from Ikea. The grind is easily adjusted and the ceramic element grinds far faster than metal grinders that I've used. The grinder overall is a little bit small and harder to hold/grind with than the similar Ikea ones. Overall I like it and would recommend as a pepper grinder.A note about the company name "Linden Sweden" is a US based company with no association with Sweden besides the word "Sweden" in their name. The grinder is made in China.

not impressed
i have to say that I am not in love with these spice grinders. I have flax seed in one and course salt in the other. In order for me to get salt out of the ceramic grinder, it takes a tremendous amount of strength to turn the top. its very slippery and almost impossible to turn. the surfaces are very smooth so my hand just slides around the jar. what really is disappointing is the fact that the salt falls out in one very small area.....so i get a big sprinkling of a large amount of salt on just a small portion of the plate. no matter how fast i move the grinder, it still ends up in one small pile, which is way to much salt.it takes FOREVER to grind flaxseed in these! i will return these....and stick with the old fashion cheapie wooden pepper mill.

Better than typical spice mills.
Attractive modern design. Doesn't leave leftover grind remnants all over table or counter. Easier to fill than typical pepper mill because the bottle opening is larger. Currently using it for peppercorns and Celtic sea and Himalayan salts. It doesn't get clogged up or corroded by the moist salt.I used one for several years and was really upset when it was knocked out of cabinet and broken. Scoured Amazon to find the same, again, and was quite relieved find replacement.

Lots of effort, very little result
I was pretty disappointed. I wanted to use this to grind cinnamon sticks, but there's a bar across the middle of the lid which makes it very hard for anything but the smallest pieces to reach the blade. Even after crushing up the cinnamon sticks into smaller pieces, they didn't really make it down, and weren't heavy enough. I have to twist the grinder both ways in an alternating pattern to even get a small amount to come out. I'll give it two stars because a tiny bit came out, maybe it would work better with a different spice, and it is attractive. I don't think I'm going to be able to use it though.

Seems pretty nice but maybe a bit expensive
Seems pretty nice but maybe a bit expensive. I (apparently) overtightened the grind-size knob and stripped it out - found a wing nut to replace it. Probably wouldn't buy it again - maybe I just got a bad one?
