Amazing engineering in a mechanical pencil.
I've been a long time user of the Pentel P205 pencils, since the early 90s. As a matter of fact, I was down to my last one from a bulk purchase ages ago and was looking into getting another set of mechanical pencils to last me another decade or two. After doing some research I found out about these Kuru Togas and tried a few of them. Having smaller hands, I've always preferred the slim grip diameter of the P205 and that narrowed down my Kuru Toga choice to just this one, as it was the slimmest in the entire line up. It's about 1.5mm thicker in diameter than the P205, at 9.5mm. I'm finding that to be my upper limit in grip size preference and comfort. I had the Kuru Toga Advance Upgrade before this, and I found the grip to be way too thick and the tip way too spongy feeling. Couldn't adapt to the grip size or the spongy feeling tip when writing after using the Pentel P205 for decades. The Kuru Toga Metal does not have the spongy feeling even though the tip depresses ever so slightly to activate the rotating mechanism. Just wish this model also had the auto lead advancing feature as well, but not a deal breaker. Note that you need to lift the pencil to have the lead rotate, so this benefit is greatly diminished if you write in cursive. For cursive writers that want the mechanism to maintain a fine point, I suggest getting the Orenz Nero 0.3. The thinner lead will provide the consistent fine point without having to rotate, and keep the fragile thin lead from breaking with the protective sleeve. Also, you never have to click for more lead with the Orenz Nero, which is a great benefit for cursive writers. Compared to the Pentel Orenz Nero 0.3, it writes a lot smoother due to the thicker lead, and writes almost as fine consistently due to the rotating mechanism. I love both pencils, but the smoother writing experience with the KT Metal has me grabbing the KT more than the Orenz. There are a few times where the Orenz Nero .3 writes scratchy or almost tears the paper due to hitting a very fine point on the lead. Spendy, but well worth it.

Excellent mechanical pencil for writers.
Fantastic mechanical pencil. I ended up buying a 2nd one when the price dropped. Solid feel and the rotating lead feature is pretty darn nice. Buy extra leads, you'll use this pencil a lot and burn through it. I recommend the 2B hardness lead as the HB the pencil ships with isn't dark black enough for my handwriting style.

Pinnacle of Pencil
This is a fantastic pencil, sturdy and functional. It has a nice weight in my hand, the grip is well textures without being rough and I cannot express how much I enjoy writing with it. The functionality is flawless and I enjoy not having to click the back every couple of sentences. I will never buy another pencil. This is as close to a automatic pencil as you are likely to get. A little expensive for a pencil, but well worth it for someone who writes a lot with a pencil!

Best pencil ever.
Best pencil I’ve used. Lightweight and great design. Worth the price. Metal shell is very high quality with and great texture. Lead stays sharp for fast writing.

Fantastic overall but has one design flaw.
This is my first Uni Kuru Toga pencil and it dramatically improved my writing in terms of how clean my lines and words are. The pencil is metal and is insanely comfortable to write with due to how it’s shaped. The only issue with this pencil is whenever I use the eraser, it seems to just shatter the lead inside from the force of erasing. This never happened with any other metal pencil that I’ve used. It’s not that big of deal for me personally because I use a separate eraser typically but it might be a problem for others.

High-quality, great feel
Very high-quality pencil. I will be buying several more. One thing I didn't see mentioned in other reviews is that the entire pencil is covered with ultra fine ridges that are almost imperceptible -- just visible on the black version when reflecting light at a certain angle. This makes the pencil feel quite nice in the hand. I've included a photo I took on my phone through a small, cheap microscope at 60x magnification to illustrate.

Practically perfect
Smoothest writing mechanical pencil I've ever used. The revolving graphite barrel works exactly as described.

i was skeptical of this Pencil when i first placed my order but i have been blown away. the led rotating mechanism results in smooth constant pens strokes witch significantly improve the visual consistency of my writing. The solid metal body feels comfortable in the hand with the grey finish is pleasant to the touch.
