A must read for all Amazon fans ans eCommerce professionals
Brad Stone has captured the philosophy of Jeff Bozos and the resultant culture of Amazon very well. His writing style is lucid and captures the progression of Amazon very well. The story of Jeff Bozos and Amazon are intelligently intertwined and present an insight into both quite well. On line professionals will be able to pick up a lot of best practices throughout the book. What Brad has achieved very well is to present a holistic picture of Jeff's persona through facts rather than a lot of judgement. The reader is left to draw his/her own conclusions. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Flow with the Amazon in this book!
Finally, I completed reading this book and I must say that the author has followed the Amazon journey very deeply. I cannot say that the book was entirely focused upon Jeff Bezos and the Amazon company, but it gives you insights about the important changes that took places in the dot com era. It clearly shows the effects of ignoring innovation. Amazon fought really hard during the tough years of depression and you can thank to Jeff's long sight vision for this accomplishment. From Amazon, we can understand the importance of caring about your customers in true sense. Throughout Amazon's journey, they are having single motto of giving the best prices and experience to their customers. And, in order to achieve this, they can fight the world. One of the important lesson that I learnt was that you create your own destiny. Jeff's biological father was not successful in life but on the other hand Jeff has excelled amazingly in his field. So, we should never blame our genes or the family for what we are. Amazon started right from the Garage with 3-4 people and rose to multi billion business. A lot can be learnt from Jeff's personality too. He is able to balance his personal and professional life perfectly. And, in his life, his mother and wife has been supportive, always. Vocab is used nicely through the book and I was able to learn a lot of new words for sure. This is a true masterpiece for all. thanks!

Excellent book - not to be missed
An extremely well researched, almost biographical account of Amazon.com, and its legendary founder Jeff Bezos. Aided by dozens of interviews (including some with Bezos himself) with people who came in close contact with Bezos, the author has built an in-depth profile of Amazon and Bezos. The author traces the journey of Amazon right from the birth of the idea in the mid-1990s and takes the reader, often in excruciating detail to where it stood when the book was published in 2013. A 'must read' book for management students, corporate watchers and anyone interested in business excellence and success.

Really enjoyed reading it
Really enjoyed reading it. It's very similar to the book, The Google Story It follows the birth and evolution of Amazon and gives us an amazing details of the visionary Jeff Bezos Come to think of it.... We take all the wonderful services amazon provides us for granted, however each of those services were a revolutionary change to the industry when they were created. This book makes you appreciate the gigantic scale of the operations and the amazing efficiency with which the tasks are executed within the company My favorite sections of the book are about the creation of Kindle and the introduction of the "Next Day Delivery" service Wish they update the book with the drone thing though Sheer brilliance I would recommend it only if you like these kind of books about enterpruenial success stories... It's not exactly fun material, but a very detailed look at the beginnings and evolution of Amazon

Compelling and nuanced. Comparable to Ashley Vance's Elon Musk: slightly less inspiring, slightly more detailed, more about the company than the person.

I have always felt admiration for Amazon due to its superb customer service and low prices, and Jeff Bezos has always been my favourite tech CEO for his rational approach to business. This book has helped know better both the company and the man behind it, and as expected the book shows you that not everything is that flawless from the distance. As a result, after reading it I admire much more the company and its founder but I devote them less, since I have gained understanding on how they have remarkably move from startup company to almost everything store right now, and the methods and tactics they use to deliver the best prices to us, its customers. An impressive page-turner must read for every fan of this company, and for anyone wondering how to build a company from scratch meant to last.
