there is a wire Connected to this alarm, so you should have wire of length according to your distance from your water tank to the place where you want to fit this alarm,and connect your wire to that wire which is connected with alarm.. Now switch on the alarm and you are ready then when your water tank will get full the alarm sounds with a loud voice.
