Very nice Omelette maker!
I read all the reviews before buying this for my boyfriend who loves Omelettes. I was worried because a lot of people said that two of them was not enough for one meal and my boyfriend loves a big Omelette. I was also concerned when a lot of people said theirs burned a lot. I decided to try it anyway because the good reviews outweighed the bad reviews by a wide margin. Our results turned out great. We use ham, onions, green peppers, mushrooms and cheese on our Omelettes. I mixed one batch up with three x-extra large eggs to divide between the two compartments. I cooked them nine minutes based on users suggestions since the directions are terrible and tell you nothing of value. After nine minutes it was getting rather brown on the bottom part and was not completely done inside. I did not want them cooked longer so I did what I would do if I cooked them in the frying pan. I popped them into the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes to finish the cooking inside so they would not get too brown. They were delicious. The next time we used it we still used the same ingredients but less of them and the Omelettes turned out perfectly. We did not fill the reservoirs completely. The only drawback was smaller Omelettes so we each ate two. Just had to make four of them. Overall, we will probably add all the ingredients we want with still three eggs, cook them 9 minutes and finish them in the microwave. Buy doing the finishing in the microwave you can also add more cheese and I find it makes them taste better. He is very happy with his gift and we will use it often. Also, clean up was a breeze.

GAME CHANGER - RESTAURANT QUALITY ON YOUR COUNTER
Not sure why some of the (partially) negative reviews. This little guy really performs. My husband and I got tired of sloppy, runny egg dishes or long quiche-making process and messy kitchen and clean-up. SIZE: Great for individual or couple but not for family or group. The two sides make a nice portion for one person or shared for two. FIRST MEAL: Did fresh crab/fresh basil/sweet red pepper/scallions/shaved Parmesan frittata. Sautéed ingredients w/ seasoning. Mixed up frothy 6 eggs & milk mixture as would normally for quiche or frittata. COOKING: That produced 3 “rounds” in the cooker. Used 1/3 cup measure, put a little egg mixture in bottom of each. Added other ingredients, then filled both halves to TOP of section. NOTE: Instructions tell you to fill JUST A LITTLE BELOW. Going to TOP allowed eggs to rise just enough to touch top of grill so it BROWNED nicely. No spill over. TIME TO COOK: Approx 10 minutes or slightly less. You can open the lid without a problem to check.

Been working great so far
Got this initially to make Omelettes, but have also made Blueberry Pancakes. While some people have complained that the non-stick surface doesn't work very well we have not had any major issues with it. I do a very light coating of Olive Oil spray top and bottom, lightly wiping it on with a tissue before turning it on, and then start heating up. For Omelettes that all I need to do, and they come out just fine with no sticking. For pancakes it typically takes between 6 - 8 minutes and then I flip the pancakes over and go for another couple of minutes. Then before the second batch I do a light spray of Olive Oil on the bottom surface and pour the next batch of batter. Again, the pancakes come right out with no sticking. Once in a while if the blueberry gets on the divider that might stick just a little bit on the second batch of pancakes, but it is easy enough during cleanup to remove. Using the Olive Oil spray makes cleanup a breeze. Pros: Once you get used to the maker you can get very consistent results. Pros: After a short learning period it is very easy to achieve consistent results. Cons: It would be nicer if this was a little larger. Some people may prefer slightly larger Omelettes, but it is OK for us. There is no power switch so you want to be sure to unplug it when you have finished the last batch. This is a pretty simple device so hopefully it will last quite a while. But I expect that at some point it will wear out and when it does I would order another one since it is not very expensive.

A few very minor issues, but overall it’s a good device that I’ve enjoyed using.
I was able to get this for $6 as an ad-on item, which is an incredible price. For $6 this is a spectacular item, easily five stars. But if you’re going to pay the $40 full price for it, then it’s more like a four-star item. It has a few minor issues that might be a little bit disappointing if you have to pay full price for it. 1) The nonstick surface is… Weird. The instructions say to add a light coat of oil to the nonstick surface before the first use, which I did, and the device worked fine. But then I went to clean it up after use, and the nonstick surface was oddly a little sticky, kind of like a slightly sticky stamp or a sticker, which is very odd for something that is “non-stick”. It’s hard to describe, But I will just say that it did not have a sleek slippery quality to it like I would expect on most nonstick cookware, it just had this slightly tacky sticky feeling to it that kind of grabbed anything I was using to clean it with. I washed it thoroughly, but the next time I used it, I had the same weird stickiness problem. It’s a very minor issue, and the device works as I would expect it to, it’s just a little weird. 2) The device cooks the bottom of whatever you put in it perfectly well, but in doing so the top of whatever I’m cooking tends to end up a little bit undercooked. This may be because the top of what I’m cooking isn’t tall enough to reach all the way to the upper non-stick cooking plate in the device, but it would be hard to measure things out so that they would exactly reach that top plate, so it seems like this would be a common problem for people. I’ve used other similar cooking devices that allow you to flip them over so that the top becomes the bottom, so the ingredients inside rest squarely on the other cooking surface to continue cooking, and that seems to work much better. I wish this device had the option to be able to easily flip the device over mid-cook and allow the top of whatever you’re cooking to rest on the top cooking plate to continue cooking. That would solve this problem entirely. I could see this device being great for use in a dorm room or other space where cooking options are very limited. It would allow you to cook a variety of things in those limited circumstances, and allow you to get away from having to microwave everything. Overall I think it’s a good device, I’ve been using it quite a bit, and I enjoy using it. The few minor issues I have with the device have not detracted from my enjoyment it, so if you get a good deal on it I think it’s very much worth buying. Personally I would not pay the retail $40 price for this, but I could definitely see paying $20 for it. And if you get the chance to buy it for $6 like I did, definitely do it. It is absolutely worth $6!

It gets the job done
This is a decent omelet maker. However, it is cheap. So it was kind of easy for a screw or two to fall out. I had to handle it with care because of the cheap design. But it still works for my needs I guess

Couldn't be more pleased but...
This omelet maker is great. I only cook eggs in it but it holds a lot of them. I use a mixtire of large whole eggs & egg whites which comes out to the equivalent of 6 & 1/2 eggs. The bottom trays still have room after filling both compartments (about 1/8" of room left above egg batter). When cooking, the eggs rise up slightly into the two upper compartments which allow plenty of room for expansion. I set a timer on my microwave (cell phone would also work) for 10 minutes, after which I unplug the device and remove the eggs. The eggs come out of each compartment perfect, as one piece for each side. Clean up is simple & easy by wiping the compartment with a slightly damp paper towel. No butter or non-stick cooking spray is needed as the surface is non-stick. Photos of before & after are shown below. The non-stick coating does begin to chip away after repeated use however - even if you're careful.

Rotten putrid gross smell!!!!
Ok, you really need to heed my warnings on this highly rated little device. how it got so highly rated is amazing to me. So... 4 things I hate about this and 0 things I like: 1 - I knew this when I bought it so my fault but, in practice, its a pain and ridiculous. There is NO ON/OFF switch. You plug it in and its on. You unplug it and its off. You forget to unplug it and it extends the time period for issue 2. 2 - Once you plug this unit in and start cooking your omlet, this device lets off the most putrid, gross and strong smell that will absolutely kill your appetite for anything coming out of it. The smell fills the kitchen and lingers after unplugging and you cannot get it out of your mind as you eat what it just cooked. Almost wants to make you gag while eating. It permeates, I'm sure, from the internal heating elements and I am warning you, you will be GROSSED OUT with this combo burning plastic, rotten egg combination smell. Its absolutely unacceptable. I even tried cleaning the thing with every minute scrap of previous omlet removed. Absolutely pristine. Plugged it in empty; 45 seconds later.... the smell as strong as ever. How does a company make a product, test it, and then sell it with this feature. It's unbelievable. 3 - If that was not bad enough, it does not cook evenly. To little time and the middle still had liquid areas (about 6 minutes). To much time ( 7 - 8 minutes) and the liquid problem is gone but the bottom of the omlet is now a bit crispy (not burnt yet but crispy). Who wants a crispy omlet? Found myself putting the finished gooey omlet in the microwave to finish the cooking (unacceptable) 4 - cleanup: again I sort of knew this at time of purchase but, in practice, what a pain. You cannot put it under running water so once you have eaten your mangled omlet, you now get to go back to this hopefully unplugged device, and experience the still apparent whiffs of the putrid odor and clean with sponges or paper towels. A COMPLETELY PAINFULL EXPERIENCE FROM BEGINNING TO END. Returning after only 2 days.

Easy to use, great gift.
For Christmas breakfast this year I decided to make omelets. Started panicking just before Christmas about making 7 - we wouldn't be able to eat together. Found this on Amazon, great price, makes 2. I have 2 sons, so I bought 3, had them set up on the counter like an assembly line, we were all eating at close to the same time. Easy cleanup, they each got one for a Christmas gift, and I've kept one. Great for just me and my hubbie also. Good size omelet. Highly recommended
