Decent Spring Compressor Tool
I wasn't sure how this product would be able to handle the task I needed it to, but it did. Simple easy to use and pretty straight forward. I used this item on the rear springs of my 16 RAM 1500. The only sketchy part was the safety pins could not be pushed through to ensure safety of this item not flying off and the spring taking my head with it. I know it was designed for Macpherson Struts, but I needed something to do a quick job. Overall very happy with the product. I kept my head attached and the job was completed on my truck.

Simple and just works for larger struts
Needed these to replace the front struts on my E38 BMW which is a bit of a beast in the suspension department. Made the job easier by a long shot

Good enough for every now and then
Works good and durable

Good price point for mid to lower strength needs
These do have tricky pins but i got them to work for springs. No other issues.

Well made but too small
These spring compressors function well and are well built but the hooks were too small to fit around the springs on my 4 runner and engage the safety pins. They were strong enough to compress the spring in a pinch but I wasn’t too happy to have to do it with out the pins engaged.

works well
Works as expected replacing a strut. Easy to use & stable when I was removing the top nut to replace the strut.

A superb tool
I have used these for a passenger car, and they worked perfectly. Some reviews say they bend, and I can imagine that happening if they are used for a super SUV. For "average" use, they work great, and I appreciate the powder coating and well-made storage case.

This tool is not worth it. It will compress the springs but the threaded metal rod will bend. The safety clips are absolutely useless and won’t even clip in over my Toyota Corolla coils which are quite small. Definitely would not work for a larger vehicle. Due to the design fitting a half inch adapter in the slot is also difficult because it hits against the strut mount. The compressors shift very easily. Would not recommend. Poor design and quality.

Can’t recommend this, could be a big safety issue. both the threaded shafts arrived bent. And one was quite badly bent to the point when trying to tighten it would drastically move the clamp and so it would change the position. This could create a substantial safety issue as these will be under a lot of force, and they need to be aligned straight and a very secure position. I cautiously tried to use it anyway, but within a few attempts the clamp kept moving and it was clear the safety risk was not worth it. It’s possible I just got a bad one. But considering neither threaded shaft was straight, I am doubtful.

As others have stated it's pretty sketchy...not big enough to fit over springs and use the "locking" pin....probably better/safer just to use a strap than this.
