Daikin 24,000 BTU 18 SEER2 Entra R32 Series Ductless Mini Split Heat Pump System w/ Maxwell All-Inclusive 15’ Installation Kit and Wall Mounting Bracket (230V)

The first AC unit was ordered and on the day it was supposed to arrive, tracking listed it as delayed at the checkpoint in Dallas, due to severe weather. I knew that was not accurate because we live near Dallas and there had been no severe weather in the area. I waited until the new arrival date but when it didn't arrive then either, I called Amazon to see what was going on. I was put on hold, so the rep could call to find out what had happened and where our order was. He told me that the manufacturer had failed to ship the unit to Amazon, at all. He apologized and cancelled the first order, then re-ordered it. Since the name was a Chinese name (Daikin) I asked where the manufacturer was located, China or America? (The "tariff wars" had just begun.) He assured me the unit was produced in the US, so that should not present any problems. The second unit came on time, they actually used a Hertz truck to deliver it, not the usual UPS. My credit card had been charged near the beginning of the process, so I waited to write this review to make sure my card was not going to show a double charge. I'm happy to report there was only one charge. Daikin and Amazon both produced a happy ending here. I am also happy to report that I am pleased with the product. We've been using the unit for about a week now. After our last AC that was very loud, I have to say I'm very impressed with how quiet this one is. I can't even tell that it's running, as a matter of fact, I check it several times a day to make sure I still have it on. (We do turn our AC off when the weather is mild, to save a bit on the electric bill.) The controls are simple to understand and operate. I like that you can set on/off times so that it will only run for a certain daily time frame. This will save us money when we travel. Installation was easy with no "hitches" as reported by the tech who installed it. He showed us how to take the filters out for cleaning, which looks pretty easy to do. Our last unit had an alert that would light up when the filter needed cleaning, but I didn't see anything in the instructions about an alert on this one. Aesthetically, it looks pretty unassuming on the wall, it blends in well and doesn't take up much space.

My wife likes a cold bedroom, this has saved my electric bill. No longer cooling 3300 sqft only a bed room. Best investment I ever did.

I bought this unit and immediately after installing it sent me a low Freon code. I called Daikin customer service who found a local contractor to come check it out. It cost me $100.00 for him to show up and tell me it had a low Freon code. He needs to perform a nitrogen test to determine the where it is leaking. This requires another visit. This costs me $570.00. I’m told the leak is not the line sets. It’s internal . Possibly a bad solder joint from the factory. Not from the installation. After contacting customer service again, I’m told to get a contractor to determine the failed part and a factory authorized parts dealer will provide a replacement. I have to pay the labor costs. This unit has never turned on yet and I’m out 677.00 . Amazon told me to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer tells me to pay someone to fix it. I strongly urge you to not purchase from Daikin. They don’t sell quality products and don’t stand behind them. I buy from Amazon all the time but think I’ll shop elsewhere.

Great unit . This is my second Daikin heatpump and I am impressed with the build and quality. Running great and works beyond my expectations.

It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. It broke down after one month the indoor head motor unit went bad and the board. I could not get a hold of customer service impossible to get any replacement parts.. I finally had to pay out of my pocket for a whole new head, and it still was coming up with a bad thermostat code. Possible to get any help fixing these things. I ended up paying out of my pocket for a hole another brand from a heating cooling wholesale house because they wouldn’t do any warranty work from anything bought off of Amazon. I ended up being out-of-pocket over 6,000. It is impossible to go through a third-party through Amazon.

This is my second Daikin. The first one I've had for four years in a very hot/humid environment, and it has been a great unit. This one is in a hot desert environment. It is extremely quiet and efficient at 24,000 BTUs. I had both units professionally installed.
