Get them, they're Swan. That's all you need to know.
These are fantastic. Just get them. That's enough review really, you'll love them for a room of 20'x20' of less. Fantastic characteristics and tone reproduction. That said, the details: The tweeter is alright, very good but doesn't come alive until you hit about 75% volume limits of the speaker, at which point they are matched to the woofer, that's my only complaint. Truly. But luckily because they are small you are probably going to listen to them between 60 and 90 percent of their limits most times so you end up right in that sweet spot. They absolutely needed a ten-to-twenty-hour break in period to unleash their full detail sound as Swan loves to use very soft drivers which aren't quite right until they break in. Once they break in, you will smile ear to ear, and they're cheap! The bass depens and gets quicker, the tweeter relaxes and pushes cleaner, then mid details start to pop out in front of the soundstage, excellent for a voice like Sara Mcglaughlin or Beth Hart, Jeff Buckley or Chis Isaak. Day one I was not sure how much I loved them: they were good but, especially when comparing A to B to the RB42 by Micca (listening on Emotiva A2 mini: Emotiva watts are twice what other manufacturers can match with the same rating). Where the Swan starts to fall apart is the exact volume where the RB42 comes alive finally. So, it turns out that below "can't talk over it" levels of volume the Swan kicks the hell out of the Micca. And I'm with Zeos, the Micca RB42 is God tier legendary, get those too ha-ha. But, no joke, if your amp doesn't push 100 watts a channel no sweat you will never hear the magic of the Miccas. With 12 watts a channel, however, the Swans are perfectly content blasting beautiful sound your way. Day 2-today: Amazed, simply amazed. These are so easily listenable it's insane, no fatigue whatsoever after hours of loud listening. Just smiles. The best part of these is that they scale like 2K dollar speakers. On the Onkyo 8220, they soar, the Emotiva, even better, the Parasound 275, just amazing quality sound on EVERY song and type of music. I have a Beomaster 5500 which was just perfect with this set as they really bring out the detail of the tweeter. That said, they still sounded fantastic with a Fosi audio 75$ amp or the Aiyima small amps as well. Even the 40$ Nobsound miniature amp (about the size of a cigarette pack or smaller) brought these to life, even if the mids were lacking warmth and tone. Are you getting the idea? ANY amp you put them on they sound fantastic, it just gets more fantastic the better the amp. The only amp I couldn't recommend is the Yamaha amps as they are already so warm that combined with these you lose too much of the detail and it's edges on muddy in the mid range. My deserted island speakers are the JBL Studio 530 and at lower volumes (0-80%) these Swans have no problem keeping up with those. In fact, they might be a bit more nuanced and richer. Their only limitation is their size. BUT they perform like a set of speakers three times the size. Swan are experts at pulling silly levels of bass out of tiny boxes and drivers, it's almost Voodoo. And yes, they are way better than the MB42x, a lot better. Sorry Micca, but it's true. The MB42X sounds like it's in pain trying to reach down to the thump and extended reverb that these Swan's effortlessly produce. Like I said, it's Voodoo. These are the new (by far) benchmark for small speakers, and they are by far the cheapest of the best (excepting the MB42x). Soundstage is huge, no harshness in high treble, beautiful chocolaty midrange, and bass that will make you wonder if you're sub is on, it's surprising right up to their limits. Zeos note (ZReviews on Youtube): They do color the sound. If you are one who wants every raunchy detail out of old or bad recordings these will disappoint you. I love the "murder tweeter" in Jamo speakers and in vintage B&O speakers like the CX50 and CX100. But who wants that other than serial killers? For regular folks the coloration they provide is SOOOOO warm and comforting to listen to. Like glass of wine by the fire on a cold night comforting. Get them, just get them. You will be so happy you did.

Very Impressive High Value Speakers
1. I measured these and the frequency response is pretty linear...they did a nice job with the crossover. 2. The grills are very attractive but are not magnetic 3. The binding posts are substantial...like something you would expect on a much more expensive speaker. 4. Build quality is good for this price. They are fairly heavy and solid for their size...this is where they really exceed the other speaker in the picture...which appears to share the same driver and tweeter. 5. In my room they got down to 50hz with pretty good output. Below 50hz they roll off quickly. 6. Sound signature is good clarity but also relaxed and balanced sounding. These aren't in your face sounding like Klipsch, but they won't put you to sleep. 7. They have more output than expected, given their size. 8. One minor complaint...the feet don't appear to be removable. 9. I like them a lot more than the Sony SSCS5 speakers (harsh with too much sizzle) & ELAC BS41 (not enough clarity & sloppy bass). 10. Make sure your amp has a 4 ohm rating. I tried these with a less capable amp and they still got loud, but the fullness of the sound suffered. 11. The RSL IA255.1 amp is a great match in the affordable amp category.

Very High Quality
These little guys sound great! I am using them with a Fosi BT20A amplifier. I use them for sound from our bedroom TV and also to stream music via Bluetooth. I am impressed with how well they fill our bedroom with clean sound. The kicker though is that they look great and feel very heavy with extremely sturdy construction. The binding posts are absolutely the highest quality post I have ever seen in this price range. I honestly cannot come up with anything negative. Other reviews have said they sound better with the speaker grill removed, but for our use case they sound great with them on. Note these speakers absolutely need to be broken in. I was a little concerned the first hour we played them as they were a bit dull and muffled. The more use we give them though, the better they sound. We have about 8hrs to 10hrs of play time on them at moderate volumes as of writing this review. They are absolutely deserving of 5 stars for the sound, value, and quality as of now. I am sure they need a little more break in time and will likely improve yet. If this is different, I will update my review to reflect.

Lack clarity at low volume. Not at their best in nearfield.
I really wanted to like these speakers. After 3 months of ownership I still wonder what the cult of audiophiles is hearing that I don't. Expectations have to be in line with other speakers in this price class. Yes, I know the mid/woofer is only 4" and they only cost $130, but the reviewers described them as an extraordinary. My setup: Schiit Modi DAC, Schiit Loki+ EQ, Fosi ZA3 amp. I bought these as desktop, nearfield speakers for games and music listening. For gaming, they are ok. The lack of bass make them suited for situations where you don't want to bother people in other rooms with thud. For music listening, I find the sound to be muffled and lacking clarity. Given the HiVi mid and tweeter that comprise the build, they should sound better. They should excel at clarity on the mids and highs, but they really don't. Taking off the grills helps a little. On the positive side: They are built very well. The binding posts are very good. General fit and finish is much better that most under $150 passive speakers. They sound better at higher volume, with the tweeters aimed directly at the listener. On the negative side: The best description of the sound is that the sound "muffled", especially at lower volumes. I have tried to correct them with EQ, with limited success. Not bad for $130, but not great either.

10/10! Kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen.

These speakers sound absolutely amazing for there size. For having a 4 inch woofer they have great bass response. The finish is very nice these speakers sound just as good as something that cost double or more the price of these. Thinking of getting a second pair

Have been a fan of Swan speakers for 15 years but haven't been able to get my hands on any models here in Canada, and wanted the M10 from years ago which I think is now discontinued. Saw the OS10 model here, and then saw these passive versions which have had great reviews. I decided on the passive version as the low point of powered speakers is usually the onboard amp/dac and can be prone to malfunctions (see reviews re OS10, some say things stop working). I hooked these up to an old receiver (Onkyo TX-SR508) and all I can say is wow. These are incredible. The only thing I can compare it to is a similar sound signature to as my HD650 - smooth and warm, with a bit more revealing highs and a sprinkle of "HiVi" magic I'd assume. They're absolutely amazing for the price. For reference I have a set of Adam T5V on my PC (amazing as well) and have been hardcore into audio since around 2008. These speakers are some of the most impressive I've heard around this price range. They're a bit lacking in the low end, but far from unimpressive - the opposite is true actually, they do sound very large and have good enough bass, especially for a 4" woofer. I would rate these almost 9/10 and have returned the Kef Q350 for these. The Q350 were way too overpowering for my room and did not sound good at all at lower volumes, and pierced my ears with pain after only a few minutes which I've never experienced before except for on the Q150. These swans are the polar opposite, laid back non-fatiguing sound.
