Delphi Cookbook

This book is worth more than 5 stars. This is a very nicely prepared, well written and typeset, Delphi book, targeting Delphi programmers who wants to pick up nice gems about new generation of Delphi programming.As a "cookbook", this is not a systematic book, but a book with valuable programming tips and such. The writer fulfills this objective very well.The format of the book is of a concise style, totaling a little around 300 pages. As a reader, you don't feel over-dragging by verbose lines (as some other books do), while getting the points quickly. Undoubtedly, the author is a technical guru, he is also a great writer.My only quibble - it would be great if the sample code is better formatted.I am looking forward to more books of this author. Thumbs up.

Great recipes for my toolbox. The techniques are excellent and anyone who reads this book will walk away with a lot of good knowledge. Why aren't they more books like this one out there? If you are a Delphi programmer making a leaving in this field it behooves you to own this book. Dear Mr. author, please sign me up for the next recipe book and also please tell all your guru friends to contribute or write one too.

Author relies too much on a third-party library the author developed and which has poor documentation (a Delphi tradition!). This only went so far in getting me where I needed to go on a particular project. Thankfully, we'll be replacing our old Delphi code base in the coming years with something more modern, more documented, more supported, more well-known, etc. I know more than a dozen programming languages well and many more not-so-well and Delphi has to be one of my least liked, despite having learned programming using Pascal. It's a shame.

I am still reviewing the book. Nice structure, for me each topic is well focued, clear and easy to follow.

Very useful book for the Delphi programmer. I have studied it many times and am awaiting the next book from this same author.

Need more new Delphi books

If I can learn something new and take a away a better understanding of things. This book does it's job for me.

OK if you do not have the Android programming within your Delphi setup. Great if you do as over half the book is for Android/FireMonkey projects.
