Makes a powerful centerpiece of a versatile & stunning home entertainment system.
Utterly amazing! We were looking for a 65" TV that could be the entertainment centerpiece for our family room. This far exceeded our expectations. We wanted to use this for our music, movies & TV entertainment. It was easy to set up and configure. We connected our music library to it and power the sound with a Marantz PM7005 amplifier outputting to Wharfedale Diamond 225 speakers. The sound is incredible with this setup - movies, TV and especially the music. Before this we had a 7.1 surround sound system that was loud, and had earth shaking bass... but the music lacked the quality we wanted. Loud doesn't = a quality sound system. So we scrapped the old system and went with a simple but high-quality stereo setup. Minimalist for sure, but far better sound. And no, the bass doesn't shake the walls anymore, but it is a better sound. And the Wharfedales are so much better than a sound bar. We stream our music through the TV app. As far as the TV, I like the Directv and Sling apps and we are Amazon Prime users for movies... so we use that app on the TV as well. The air tuner is outstanding also (we grab around 30 OTA channels through our antenna). The picture quality on the TV is exceptional for this price-point. I just think you get a lot for your money with this TV. Can you get a better TV picture? Sure, but you're going to pay a lot more for it. We are happy campers with this TV. Grateful we bought it.

Great picture smart feature work nice
I had a 5 year old Samsung 65 inch plasma screen. I had seen my uncles $550 55 inch LG from c*stc*. The picture was really nice for the price. So I started to look at new ones. I had the 65 so I wanted a bigger set. A 75 was not a lot bigger. So I looked at this and the LG 86 inch. After reading reviews and some price differences and I could keep my tv stand since spending so much on a tv I bought this one. I think the LG would have been a good one also but I can't say. I can say this one has been great for the price. Picture is great . The smart features have worked great overall. I have to say I had to buy a different tv stand since the Q and A for legs was wrong. But the apps that pop up every time you turn on the tv is a pain if you are using other sources like Shield tv,roku, fire tv. There may be a way to turn them off. If so it is not easy. The remote workers great for many and most other devices. Are there better tv's out there yes. But not around this price for 82 inch. It hooked up with my Onkyo receiver , shield tv , roku , fire tv without any issue pretty much on it's own. Bose qc35 were a bit harder but not much. Tv connected to all of those on its own. The tv sound is surprisingly good for a tv. But I only used tv speakers to try them out. I use my receiver so can't really say how they are to use on a daily basis.

It was the perfect Christmas Gift for Family
OK - so I feel the need to step backwards in time. 12 years ago, infact my family purchased our first large and expensive TV this purchase makes our 4th one. 12 Years ago ours lasted for about 8 months and broke. The warrenty was no longer valid as company we purchased from went under. Second set lasted a long time but had bars on one side. My family suffered for years. The third last forever and still works great... We wanted 4K but were affraid to replace our 4 year old 1080P that worked so well all these years. That said.... I was a bit nervous. As you can see, this review has 5 stars so not to worry about a bad experience or anything wrong with TV. Just the opposite as I could not be any happier. It really all started with Amazons delivery service. The two person team was right on time, super nice and help me move it in the garage to hide until Christmas. Delivery was top notch. The TV itself was well package and easy to open, mount and set up. I really think that we had it on the wall and playing xBox within an hour or two on Christmas morning and that take into account removing the old one. The picture quality is breath taking and menu system simple. The TV and whole Amazon experience really made for a perfect family Christmas moring and delight with our entertainment room. SUPER HAPPY!

IF YOU NEED SERVICE DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG
I was well on my way to becoming a loyal Samsung customer. I purchased a TV for my parents and then purchases this model (UN82NU8000FXZA) for our place. The TV met expectations however now out of warranty a line of dead horizontal pixels appeared right in the middle of the screen. This began my saga of trying to get support from Samsung. The TV is huge and hung on my wall so I don’t have many options but to repair it. Even if I wanted to replace it, the effort to get rid of the existing and put up a new one was more than I have time to consider. I contacted support on line and they informed me it is out of warranty. I responded that I know but I need to get it fixed. They told me to call the support number. After over 30 minutes on the phone I get a person that tells me that they can’t help me and that I should go on the website and find a tech in my area. I did that to find there are NO technicians in my area. So I called back and appealed for help. They finally told me they could schedule a tech to come out (why was this not the outcome of the first call). This began a series of texts that tried to talk me out of the service call telling me it will be very expensive to resolve. My response was I know, but I have no other option. After 6 exchanges where I continued to confirm I wanted support the text finally indicated that the service call will be scheduled. Fast forward to the day of the service call (the day I’m writing this). Of course I rearrange my day to be ready between 9 and 5 for service call. The morning of the service rep calls me and asks me if I’m sure I want service. After me repeating as I have that YES I need to get it fixed, they tell me they have to reschedule (this is the day of). I lost my temper a bit, and the service manager comes on. He proceeds to talk me out of service and continues to add costs to the service. After all of this they still are reluctant to come out and I realize this is not going to result in my TV getting fixed. Now I have a 100 lb TV mounted on the wall of my apartment with a dead line pixel through the middle. Not sure what my next move needs to be, but I know I will not buy Samsung any longer. Good products but things break and you expect a company like that to have an organized service organization. Check the reviews, Samsung service is just is not reliable. Frankly it is horrible. If you don’t care about the need for service go ahead and buy, but if you expect to be supported with your purchase, look elsewhere.

I bought this television for gaming. I play on PS4 pro and I wanted to try out 4k. I was blown away by how much clearer everything looked. The brightness settings are great and the speakers on it are insane! So far I'm loving it and I can say that my gaming performance has improved as well.

Great TV, bought the 82" and I have been very happy with the level of detail, sound and options. Everything is built for ease of use. I love the simple remote control. Connecting anything to it works so seamlessly.. I have never been much for using apps on my TV as I have many other ways to access everything I like to use, so no comment on that part. I should note that the TV has no RCA inputs on the back, just in case that is something you want for anything. You can pick up a rca to hdmi converter box(they are small) and cost between $20-30. The one I picked up provides and option to output at 720 or 1080p. I love that the tv only has a border at the bottom. All other sides have no border. It auto detects what things you add to the hdmi ports like gaming consoles. The TV is super light. I have no regrets buying the TV. Lots of people are all talking about qled tvs. However, I went with this one as I didnt really feel that I would get a ton of noticeable difference for the extra $2000. There isnt even enough 4K content that I regularly use, the upscaling is nice.
