I was very pleased with the quality and durability of this stair rail. I was afraid it would be thin metal, but is actually heavy wrought iron. Packed very well for shipping. VERY sturdy, fastened to my wooden stair treads. Looks really nice. Will probably buy another to go on the other side of the stairs as well. Was shocked to see that the box included two drill bits, a hex head screwdriver bit, an extension, and a socket for the lag bolts. Also a pencil - already sharpened! Bolts for installation in concrete or wood are included. Washers are on the bolts for concrete mounting. Take these off and use with the lag bolts for wood mounting. All you really need to install these is an electric drill. Installation instructions are very good. One word of caution - drill the floor mounting holes a bit closer to the outer edge instead of in the center of the hole you marked as stated in the instructions. Otherwise, you will have problems with the socket not fitting between the bolt head and the vertical section of the rail. The only problem I had with installation is that the metal is too strong for the self-tapping screws to really bite. I drilled a starter "dimple", then was able to start the screws without a problem. Update - I ordered a second railing so that I would have one on both sides of the stairs. Be aware that the company has modified the design, and is now shipping the new version. The Amazon listing still shows the older design, and the model number did not change. Instead of the top rail being oval shaped, it is now rectangular. Personally, I prefer the older design. The old rail is slightly wider and easier to grip. I think it also looks better. Either still works fine, of course. The new version looks more contemporary. There is a card in the box that tells you if you end up with a mis-matched set, they will send you one of the older design. I’m still waiting for my replacement to arrive. Customer support has been very responsive via text message.

This is a terrific product - it comes with everything you need to get the job done, minus the electric drill! All the parts are there, great instructions, plus drill bits and even a drill bit extender. Installation is easy and it is nice and solid once installed. The price is also excellent. One tiny negative - the railing itself is squared and not "comfortable" to grip like a more rounded railing might be. But that is a small issue, especially given the price point and the overall quality of the entire package. Highly recommend!

We purchased it for a two step down into my mother's family room after a fall she had. Easy to assemble, all parts included. Worked great for what we wanted to accomplish. Very sturdy.

The rail is of good quality and easy to install. The hardware needs to be better quality. I had to buy a better quality drill bit to complete the job . It is sturdy and looks great.

The handrail is sturdy and easy to install. I have wood steps. All necessary hardware and drill bits were included.

I was a little skeptical that a multi piece handrail would be sturdy enough for some of our elderly guests but after a very easy install, this thing is as solid as a rock. All the pieces were well packaged and the instructions were very clear. I would buy again if I have a similar need in the future. Highly recommend!

I put it together this afternoon. Excellent product with complete supply of necessary parts, tools, and clear assembly instructions. It arrived in three days as scheduled. Installed this and an extension rail at a clients house. Easy to install, looks good, and it fit the space perfectly. It was also pretty stable when I finished.
