Even helps with lower back pain
Even though this is a hernia belt, i found that it is also VERY useful for keeping my sore back stable. Most of us don't like the large clumsy back braces and they become irritating after a while although they are important if you're having a serious flare. Even though this is meant for those with hernias it is a a perfect back brace for people with back problems particularly in the morning when we are most stiff. This is the second one I purchased.

Nice snug fit
Works great helps me out at work quite a bit until I can get into surgery and get it fixed. But definitely something that I should've bought a while ago.

This ambilocal hernia girdle/belt is not bad.
It's a pretty good compression belt/girdle, for pre-surgery use only. I would have given a better rating score if this belt could be used post surgery comfortably. There were also some additional issues (listed below) that also hindered a perfect score. Here are the PROS & CONS I identified plus suggestions to improve the belt: 1. PROS 1A. The pressure pad worked REALLY good for this belt's specific purpose 1B. It has a good elastic ability 1C. The airy spacing in the belt's design helps to remove sweat, especially when the needed protective underlayer shirt causes more moisture. 1D. The pad is well designed to put direct pressure throughout the bellybutton area with a soft breathable material facing the body, very comfortable. 1E. Price is not bad for a decent compression belt/girdle. 2. CONS 2A. The hook and pile tape set up for the pressure pad has the hook tape facing inward towards the body/skin, ouch. You can't even use a shirt for protection under the belt if no pressure pad is needed. That hook tape will destroy any material if no pressure pad is on it if the user moves around (while awake or asleep). 2B. The hook tape/pressure pad site is on the complete opposite side of where the belt connects together. This forces the user to put the belt on with the back facing forward and then twisting it to get the pad on the hernia site. There is absolutely zero ability to keep the pressure pad on the hernia while attaching the belt to itself...unless someone else helps the user. The big issue in trying to do so runs a high risk of keeping exposed hook tape (that is facing inward) on top/bottom since they are forced to use a mirror to safely put it on (if available), otherwise this will cause the exposed abrasive tape to rub against the skin...ouch 3. FIX SUGGESTIONS 3A. In regards to 2A, don't offer the option to remove the pressure pad if the developer refuses to switch from hook tape on the belt itself to pile tape. 3B. In regards to 2A, switch to a pile tape so the belt can be used for more than just one ability; providing an option pre-surgery direct pressure while awaiting surgery. The compression belt/girdle SHOULD also be allowed to be used for post-surgery compression to help keep the skin from stretching at the stich site, especially for those who have a weight issue where their core is more fluid-like. I still would like to use this belt through to (or past) my post operation check-up. As it stands, this belt will only be usable for a shorter amount of time with zero use afterward, making more synthetic garbage (not very green friendly). 3C. In regards to 2B, why not put the connecting tape for the pad directly behind where the belt connects to itself. This would prevent the need to twist the belt around, after connecting the belt together, to put the pad on the hernia site.

Just What I Was Looking For
This is exactly what I was looking for. I have diastasis recti and I feel more comfortable wearing this belt. Excellent product and shipping.

Poor design
I have purchased three of these over the past few years. The most recent purchase was in July of this year. I no longer have the original belt I purchased because these belts do wear out over time and the issue is a lack of support on the sides. I can't prove it but I recall the first belt I purchased had support ribs on the sides. This allowed the belt to stay stiff on the sides. It is possible that this brand never had support ribs on the side and perhaps I am confusing another brand I purchased a few years ago. Without the ribs on the sides, the belt just rolls over on the sides and it shifts around throughout the day requiring several adjustments throughout the day. I also have taken issue with the design where the velcro is on the backside if you want to line up the round piece that presses against the hernia. Just too difficult to align that up and tighten the belt. I gave up and just threw away the round piece and have worn the belt without it and flipped it around so I can tighten it from the front. I cut out some microfiber cloth to fit over the velcro on the belt so the velcro would not scratch my back. I concur with one review I read that the design was never vetted out with people who actually have umbilical hernias. It works though. My hernia has not gotten any larger in the past few years and I found a way to work around the design issues. However, I just purchased another hernia belt from another company that does have the ribs on the sides. Hopefully, that belt will provide stronger support and will not collapse on the sides as quickly as this brand does.

So helpful
This belt is a game changer. Ive been suffering an umbilical hernia for years now and its massive. Solid as a rock while im standing up and super painful. The only things i don’t like about this is that the velcro is in the back. I cannot push my intestines back in while standing, so i have to lay down to put the belt on 🤣 But its not a deal breaker, its my fault for looking for something less expensive. Another thing to keep in mind for those of you with curves, this cuts into my lovehandles and bunches up. I maybe should have looked into a wrap that goes over my entire torso. But the relief i get from this far outweighs the negatives. Plus with my intestines held in where they are supposed to be, I'm 3 inches thinner, no exaggeration.

I have an abdominal hernia that I'm eventually getting surgery for, but in the meantime I needed something to keep the hernia in, which is about the size of a half-softball protruding out of my body. I've never used a hernia belt before but at the behest of my surgeon, I decided to start looking for one. I saw this one and decided to give it a shot as it wasn't too expensive and I honestly had no idea what I was looking for. Once it arrived I was REALLY surprised at how well its constructed. Extremely durable, very stretchy, and the hard silicone cup is removable for easy cleaning and repositioning. I was concerned at first that it would be quite uncomfortable but I was pleasantly amazed to find that its the direct opposite. It's VERY comfortable and it hides really well under shirts and jackets. If you're looking for something to help keep that hernia in check, this is the belt for you. Adjustable from a Large to XXL size, this cozy belt will help keep the discomfort of your hernia from hindering your day to day activities. Buy it!
