Incredible value all in one printer, I couldnt believe just how easy the set up and printing was, up and running within minutes. Drivers for Mac M4 downloaded no probs. Please note.... Not Wi-Fi.. usb cable only. Excellent purchase

I was EXTREMELY disappointed to discover upon setting this printer up that it does not come with the connection cable needed to plug it into your computer! And as it does not support a wireless connection, it is absolutely USELESS until I can find and purchase the right cable needed to make it work. I am frankly astounded that a product can be sold without the VITAL part to make it actually function. I am actually in awe of this as I expected far more from a company like Canon. It is possible that it works just fine and is deserving of more stars, but as there is no way for it to function the way it was delivered to me this product deserves ZERO STARS in my opinion. Yet another disappointing Amazon purchase. I am just about done buying anything from here anymore as there is always something off! Irony is, I cant even return it without printing a label so still need to go buy a connection cable somewhere else if I even want to attempt returning it. HOW WAS THIS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN?! (also, I never ever write amazon reviews, even when I don't like a product, so the fact that I felt the need to come and warn other future buyers is a strong statement coming from me.) NEW EDIT: Printer also does not support dual-sided printing (even though it says in the product info that it can) and I will not give me the option to choose black-and-white over color when printing a document with color photos.

Great little printer for the extremely cheap price, complete with ink. HOWEVER only 4 stars because the drivers are so crap. I had the detection issues others have reported. What worked for me (Win10 64bit) was to go to the website and download NOT the proffered specific ones for my OS, but the pack at the bottom of the list with drivers for all OSs. I then ran the .exe, but cancelled the Canon install after extracting the drivers. Then I used the built in manual Windows printer installer and chose Have Disk and pointed it at the extracted Driver folder. All worked well then. Now it's installed the print quality etc is great and perfect for my requirements. Very happy overall.

Arrived well packaged. As clearly stated, this model doesn't come with the necessary usb connection lead, which you'll need to purchase separately if you don't already have one. Unpacking and preparing the unit is simple and is explained by a diagram sheet. Once the power is switched on, fit the two ink cartridges and then enter the supplied Instalation CD into your laptop/pc and follow the installation instructions. The unit requires an alignment test, and a print test before use...the onscreen directions are clear to follow. Print quality is as good as my previous model PIXMA MP230 model, and colours are clear and well defined; though I haven't tested with gloss/photo paper with this model, previous experience with PIXMA photograph quality copying was excellent. I note some reviews found the unit quite noisy but, I've not found that to be the case, nor any issues with double sided printing as one review mentioned. It's easy to use and there's both an onscreen ''Quick Menu'' for basic usages and a more extensive onscreen manual which offers editing features and more detailed settings, as well as maintenance function controls. Overall it's good value and meets most if not all home use needs. My PIXMA MP230 lasted 13 years of regular use, and I've no reason to expect any less of the PIXMA MG2551S.

Good basic printer, doddle to install with a Lead, no Wi fi but it was recognised by my Lap Top and just click to install. Negative comments about no lead are expecting too much from a £30.00 printer with 2 full inks ! Sharp prints, what's not to like?

Was initially pleased with the price ect of this canon printer. I have had canon printers before and they have always been great for printing papers or photos. The printer comes with a disc that helps to load the driver to your computer or laptop. Since many laptops don’t come with DVDR slots, and you can get the driver data via download, this seems superfluous. However there was a problem that could have been avoided. Unfortunately the printer didn’t come with a cable to attach the printer to the laptop. I could understand this if the printer was Bluetooth enabled but it isn’t. You need the cable for it to work! Why buy a printer that won’t work without a specific cable. I have had to purchase the additional cable to make this printer work. Surely Canon could have removed the unnecessary disc and replaced it with the cable which is necessary. Money pinching tactics that are ridiculous. I purchased this for my daughter for university. University is expensive. There is a cost of living crisis and Canon have made a printer that is useless without a cable that wasn’t supplied with the machine. Very disappointing

Does not deserve all the bad reviews. Yes it is not Wi-Fi, but it does say it is not on product page and it does not come with USB cable and that should have been noted on product page for sure. I personally have lots of those cables all over the place but in this case I just unplugged old printer and plugged this one. For a bit less than replacing just the ink for my old printer I got this one and I have to say am very happy with the print quality and how easy it was to install it after following the instructions on my pc. Download driver and software from Canon site, Install, turn printer on and follow the steps.

I have no idea of the performance of the printer as it arrived without the necessary cable and with no ink cartridges although the box panel showing contents shows cartridges included.
