RoadPro RP-234 Magnetic CB Microphone Holder Mic Clip, Metal Hanger

The magnet broke off the old holder. It was a different kind with a rivet in the middle of the magnet and holder. It broke at that rivet. I do not know how this one attaches, but I hope it holds up better than the last kind. When the old one broke, I went to a truck stop. The only thing they sold was one that was plastic, and it stuck on the dash with sticky tape. It stuck to the dash just fine, but it did not stick to itself. It left a mess on the dash, but it would not stick to the plastic holder. This magnetic holder works great, just like the last one did. That is not to say they will not slide or even fall off a couple time a year, but big deal; I just pick it up, stick it back on and hook the mike back on it. That is not bad considering you are in the truck all day long. These magnetic holders are the best thing I found, and you do not have to drill into your dashboard.

As everyone has noted you really need to glue the mount to the magnet, I used RTV. After that they are well made, the magnet is strong and the clip looks very Std size. I use it on a metal workbench where I want a Mic accessible while working on things.

Works okay, but tends to slide down if downward pressure is put on the microphone. Probably, most people will not be concerned about this. It's annoying for me because I often have need to press down on a button on top of the mic, while the mic is in the holder.

Items do not secure the mic in place. Magnet is not glued, taped with 2 sided tape or some sort of way to make the Magnet stay onto the clip tht holds the mic. Poor poor quality, workmanship. Want my money back

I lost my older version of this and it had a rivet holding the magnet to the clip frame. This one does not, an the first time I put the mic down on the magnet and picked it up, the magnet stayed on the console. Then the clip frame fell off of the mic. The design of the clip section does not hold onto anything. I had to use pliers to bend the prongs in so the mic would not fall off. But this solution left the mic holder flopping around. Rubber bands wrapped around the clip stopped that rattling and Gorilla glue is currently holding the magnet in place. The magnet is incredibly strong and a rivet is needed.

I personally find this magnet quite strong. I use it in a commercial environment to hold a Motorola microphone. If you have a good metal surface, this microphone holder should do the trick for you!

Magnet is very strong but only thing about it...it moves although you have to glue the magnet to the clipper that's why put a 3 stars
