Aerosoles Women's Blue Gene Boot

OK. This is a modified review and upgraded to 5 stars. My initial review is below but to be fair I have to update. I have worn these boots at least 5 times since and they are indeed very comfortable. Maybe my day 1 experience was just breaking them in. They look fabulous, sexy and are high but comfortably so. The top of the boot still rubs against shin, but tall socks take care of that.I got the patent croc skin black.This is a lovely, sexy pair of boots and amazingly balanced for the height. Wore them whle day at work and everything was ok until maybe after about 7 hours I felt a tenderness. I was on my feet for about 2 consecutive hours in the morning instructing a class. It felt like the front right side of my left foot was rubbing against the shoe (just at the base of the big toe on the side). If I curled my toes then it would go away hence it meant my that part of my foot was rubbing against the shoe. I was wearing thin socks so maybe thicker socks would help, except then it may feel tight. Also, because the boots are so tall and the material soft and flexible, the top f the boots kept rubbing against my shin. Fortunately I was wearing long socks but whenever the socks slid down I had to keep pulling them up to protect my skin. If the socks dont slide down then this issue is a non issue. Overall nice shoes but not recommended for whole day especially if you're on your feet and not at a desk. Maybe the front of my foot is just wide but I normally but regular width and not wide so I dont think that's it.

The media could not be loaded.  UPDATE 12-28-2013: After 5-10 mins of wearing these boots, the pain in both feet were terrible. I thought as I wore them longer, it would break-in these boots a little bit. Was I wrong. It nearly broke me. Never have I had the pain in both my feet like these boots gave me. I am just lucky my feet are back to normal and pain free. I lowered my rating of these boots to a 1 star rating. They actually look nice, but I will never wear them again. I won't pay good money to look at boots in my closet. I returned them and will not by Aerosoles again. I will only buy comfortable, good quality boots from now on, like Earth Wickwire. Very disappointed in Aerosoles.Knowing that this "snakeskin look" boot wasn't leather, I still purchased them. The picture makes the boot look great. I really liked the colors this picture captured. I should've just taken the picture...would have been cheaper.These boots are way off in the colors. The actual boot has a washed out dull brown hue look and it looks/feels cheap. The shaft of the boot is a very thin material and has very little support at all. I fear they will tear even as I put them on. The support in the foot area is non-existent. Padding is required, but you need to provide that yourself. My toes are smashed up to the front (about an 1.5 inch from where the tip of the boot ends). Not very comfortable if I was to spend all day in them. This is my first Aerosoles boot and I am NOT impressed. I will be using these boot sparingly, as they do somewhat (in theory) go with my actual snakeskin purse. This is my only reason for keeping them...unless I find a better snakeskin boot. Note to self... See and feel the boot first before buying it on the internet. Photoshop does wonders for the picture, but the actual boot fails in reality.I have taken pictures of this boot with my own camera just to see if the photo on the site was accurate. Actually, it is. But the boot is not true to the picture (from my Nikon D3100 or the sites pic). The browns and tans are great in the picture, but the actual boot is almost a dull, bland brown and tan. I have taken a video of the boots and uploaded it to this review.

I have these boots in the color brown size 9 1/2. I was a bit skeptical about buying boots over the internet, especially since I have always had problems with buying any type of shoes without trying them on first. They would always be a bit to big or to small. However, I am very glad I took the plunge. These boots are not only stylish but they are very, very, comfortable. They are true to size and when I first received them I did think they were kind of to thin and would end up being way uncomfortable but boy was I proven wrong. They are awsome! I love my new boots! I wear them with jeans and they look amazing. Even my husband thought they looked very stylish. I love that they are higher than ankle boots yet lower than the full tall boots. The material is not stif but very flexible and soft.I also have to say that I do not tend to wear heels as much and the heel on this boot is just right! not to low and not to high. I would recommend these boots to anyone who is looking for a comfortable, stylish, pair of boots.

These boots were an amazing buy for the price (under $30). I purchased the black boots and they do look like leather (can't speak for the other colors). I was amazed at how comfortable they were from the first wear (no having to "break them in")...these are great every day boots. However, beware if you have thicker legs/calves. I have large calves and even though they do zip all the way up (size 8 regular), I can not wear them over skinny pants or leggings. Since I bought them to wear with jeans, this was not a big deal for me but may be a deal breaker for someone in a similar situation, but I am happy with them as they serve my main purpose. I've also received several compliments on them which is nice.

I have really "thin" legs which means really small calves and ankles which some may deem as lucky, but it can be a nightmare trying to find boots that fits. I found these ankle boots from Aerosoles and they are great for ankle length boots. The opening is slightly smaller than the Genieva ones from Aerosoles (which I also bought and use them with skinny jeans). These Aerosoles Gene boots are great for skirts and can be worn all day long. You can wear them with thin socks or stockings. I am usually a size 6 in sandals and heels, but I got a size 6.5 for these boots and they are perfect. The width is more of a an M (medium) but the material does stretch. They have to be the most comfortable boots I've ever owned! I just wish they made longer boots with the same narrow openings.
