Even better than the previous models
I also own the Halo version of this light that I use in my office, which is pretty fantastic, but this one is even better if you don't need the backlight from the Halo, and don't care about having the wireless remote control. Like the other BenQ ScreenBar lights, the light output is extremely well controlled and of fantastic optical quality if you care about things like color accuracy and brightness and not casting light onto your monitor illuminating any spec of dust that might be on it. This one is both brighter, as well as provides slightly improved color rendering even compared to the already fantastic ScreenBar Halo and other previous generation products. The motion detection feature is also a really nice addition, which partly makes up for not having the remote control puck since you only have to set it to what you want to use it at and then enable the motion detection mode and forget it. The implementation is even thoughtful enough that you can either walk away and let it turn itself off after 5 minutes, or tap the power icon to turn it off immediately, in which case it temporarily disables the motion detection for 30 seconds so you can step away from your computer before it re-enables the sensor again to turn back on automatically when you return. Little things like this don't seem like a big deal, but they just make using the product that much simpler and more pleasant than not having it, and over the long haul, that kind of little thing really adds up. This one makes it clear, like the previous models, why BenQ currently seems to lead the market with these monitor mounted desk lights. I wouldn't use anything else, and I'll never be without one again - it's just that much of an improvement over all the alternatives I've tried, from desk lamps and table lamps, to floor lamps, improved room lights, and competing monitor lights. BenQ monitor lights have their high ratings for a good reason. EDIT: I see one review mentioned the power button not being illuminated when the light is off. This is true, but to work around this to some extent, the power button is on the right side of the control panel in the middle of the light, and it's touch sensitive. This means you can just touch the right half of the light and slide your finger left towards the center and when you reach the power button, the light will turn on without you needing to know exactly where the button is. This may help other owners who have the same issue but otherwise like the quality of the light.

Absolutely fantastic, a must have for your setup
When I first looked at this screen bar, I wasn't to sure about it. I was used to having a wireless remote for my previous model, which allowed me to manually turn it on and off. The idea of a sensor that activates when I approached the computer and shuts off when I left made me uneasy. I was concerned about having to reach up to the top of my monitor to control it or adjust the settings. However, I can say that this screen bar is fantastic. The sensor activates the moment I sit down, and it stays on for a few seconds after I leave, making it incredibly convenient. This feature has proven to be great, allowing me to enjoy seamless operation without needing to touch anything manually. Plus, it frees up space on my desk since there's no remote to clutter my workspace. In as for as value, it outperforms my previous model in both functionality and design. It fits snugly on my monitor, unlike some other bars that tend to sit awkwardly. The installation process was straightforward, and overall, I have no complaints. If you're considering a screen bar, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

A well designed and easily controlled light…
An excellent light for my desktop computer. The features and functionality of this light far exceeded what I expected. It costs a bit more but it’s worth the investment. The IR sensor which turns the light on and off is a great feature. It functions without my input and once set, it operates seamlessly without any thought or input. It uses touch controls and can easily be adjusted. It’s pretty much set and forget although it’s easily adjusted if needed. The light doesn’t interfere with your work and for designers, it doesn’t interfere with the color coming from your monitor.

Outstanding in nearly every way. But here's a reason why you might not want to buy it...
My office isn't well-lit. For years, I've been using a desk lamp, which is essential for reading and writing, but my desk isn't huge and the lamp reduces the amount of useable workspace. Amazon somehow sensed my frustration and suggested this BenQ monitor light bar. The price ($120) seemed a bit high for what you get, but I figured I'm not just getting a light, I'm freeing up space which will really be useful almost every time I need to work at my desk. So I bit the bullet and ordered one. I've been using it for a month now, and I really love it. Setup was easy and fast. All the controls are on the top of the light bar and they're touch controls. It's easy to adjust the brightness and the color temperature (warm vs. cool light) to your exact liking. There is no learning curve, everything just works, you don't have to think about it or read a manual. It has a feature that turns the light on whenever it senses movement within a couple feet. Practically, it turns the light on when I sit down at my desk and turns it off about 10 or 15 minutes after I leave. I love that it's powered by USB-C, rather than batteries you have to replace when they wear out. Like many monitors, mine has extra USB-C ports for peripherals, but the ports also provide power to accessories like this light. Okay, so why should you consider NOT buying this? Simple: Amazon sells other monitor light bars that do almost everything this one does for half the price (or less). I decided to get a second monitor light bar for my office at work, and I was about to buy another one of these. But the Amazon algorithm showed me other monitor light bars that cost less, by a brand called Quntis. They make a variety, ranging from $40 to $70. I bought a 20" wide Quntis model for $55. For me, the Quntis has one disadvantage. Almost all of their models, including the one I bought, has a separate remote controller that's about the size and shape of a hockey puck. And it uses 3 AA batteries (included in the package, thankfully). I strongly prefer the all-in-one operation of the more expensive BenQ. My desk gets pretty cluttered, and things on my desk sometimes get misplaced. Without the Quntis remote, you simply cannot use the light bar. Also, the adjustments to brightness and color temperature have only four levels; with the BenQ, it's easy to dial in the exact brightness and temperature you want. Looking at the user reviews of the Quntis light bars, many people say they like the separate remote. You might, too. Hardly anyone complains about the lack of fine adjustments to brightness and color temperature that you get with the BenQ but not the Quntis. I really can't recommend spending $120 for the BenQ when for $55-ish you can get a Quntis that does practically everything the BenQ does, with very minor compromises that most people can life with. That said, I'm not sending my BenQ back to get a refund and buy another Quntis.

Perfect addition to my setup
I've been wanting one of these monitor lights for a while to replace my cheap desk lamp, and I finally got around to purchasing one. I was debating between this and the Halo 2, but ultimately opted for this one as I prefer not to have additional remotes on my desk that require batteries. The light pattern is perfect and does not cause any glare on the monitor. It can get VERY bright even in the daytime and the color temperature adjustment also works well. The motion sensor is my favorite feature of this lightbar and it works perfectly, I don't even have to touch it unless I'm adjusting the brightness. I got it on sale for Black Friday but I would gladly pay full price for it, it's well worth it for the quality of life.

Great Light
The BenQ Screen Bar was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. It lights up my keyboard and desk with a flexible lighting solution. All the features work well and make it a great product. The auto on/off works well to conserve energy. Being able to set the brightness and color temperature and then save it as a favorite is a real plus. Or I can use the option that automatically analyses the ambient light and adjusts the light for you. I like to make notes and make small sketches while at my computer and my task light gave off really hard shadows. The Ben@ light bar softens the light and was one of the main reasons I made the purchase. I still have shadows but not as obvious as before. And I have more room on my desk since I no longer need it. I am very happy with my purchase and wish I had gotten it sooner.

Great
Works great, easy to install, and has just the right brightness. Better than regular desk lamps because it's not as harsh on the eyes and has motion sensing.

Excellent product!!
Amazing light bar. I heard a lot about how well-built and functional these bars are, but never took the chance and spent the money. I got this on holiday sale, and glad I did. It has great illumination and features. The auto-sensor is very handy to have, and the bar fits my 34" curved monitor nicely. Highly pleased.
