Nice emblem, fit perfect

This emblem replaces the original Ford emblem perfectly. However, there is a method of removal so you don't damage the chromed outer housing of the seat that holds the emblem. If you loosen the top housing that surrounds the area where the hood release is, then peer down into the grill area, you will see two silver metal tabs that lock the back of the emblem into the housing. Take a very long screw driver and GENTLY tap the tip of the screwdriver against each tab allowing it to release from the emblem housing. There is also a third tab that you can't visually see that lifts UP at the top of the center of the emblem. Now that the pressure has been released from the bottom tabs, you can push UP on the top tab and the emblem will come right out. To replace, simply push the tabs on the back of the new emblem into there respective holes and gently push until the three tabs pop into place. Then replace the top cover and you are done.

Exact replacement for my 2008 Ford Taurus X.

I had to bend a section on the emblem to open it up so a small cylinder piece sticking out on the car could fit in the middle. Then I covered it with a towel and hammered it into place. There is still a small gap between the emblem and the car and I check it often to make sure it stays. Goodness! Hope it does because a fit is hard to find. This was my fourth try with a different emblem and each cost about $60.
