A great Internet radio set
I wanted a DAB/DAB+ set to go with my Hi Fi set up, as I have an annoying buzz on some FM stations. The Majority Pembroke seemed to "tick allthe boxes". Delivery was prompt and on setting it up I realised it had several, for me, "Bonus Features". It does NOT have an earphone socket. It DOES have a LINE OUT. Great for my purposes, I can either run it free standing or through the amp/speakers, unlike using an earphone socket for this there is no fiddling with plugs to change over. The Blue Tooth connected with my tablet and phone easily, again an unexpected increase in my listening choices. The DAB/DAB+ all worked readily and I was able to set it all up quickly. In fact I was so impressed with the ease of set up and extra uses, I bought another the next day, this time for the kitchen, where the use of a remote control is handy, (the set is not readily accessible from the floor). Another Bonus, I run the kitchen radio from a time switch, it comes on around four to five tiomes a day. The Majority Pembroke COMES ON when the mains is powered up, unlike most digital equipment. No other buttons to press it just does what it was doing when the power went off. Great.Great-ish. You can turn this feature off, should you want to, well that is what it says in the instructions, I have not tested this myself as it my cheif annoyance with digital equipment. I say great-ish because:If on the internet, easy to set up using the WSP button, the radio ALWAYS picks up the station it was last on. With DAB/DAB+ the story is a little different. I found no problem putting in a list of favourites and selecting from these once DAB was selected. However when powering themselves into DAB from direct mains connection, the kitchen radio couldn't find any stations or favourites. I swapped the units over and the formerly fully working one, now in the kitchen, was the same. The ex-Kitchen set, now in the sitting room was mostly fine. It remembered the favourites and could find all the DAB stations. So it would seem that the signal quality/strength affects the ability of thte unit to function in this respect. I added some fine wire to the end of the antenna and the kitchen located set now behaves as well as the one in the other room. The only slight glitch in the DAB story is that on mains power up in DAB mode one always starts with Absolute and the other has stuck to the BBC Asian Network, neither stations are in the list of favourites, or th efirst stations on the DAB listing. Most odd and quirky, but liveable with.I must admit to spending more time using them both on the internet wireless. Again easy to set up and pick up local wireless from a multitude of places, all BBC local and many, I assume, commercial ones, plus stations from all over the world at the touch of the remote. For their price, they seem a great "radio". So far, I am more than happy with both sets, despite their quirks.

Would find no DAB stations
This unit held great promise, working well with Internet radio, with a good choice of genres. It also tuned into FM stations quite well, though not with quite the reception quality of a dedicated FM radio in the same room. The sound quality, I must say, is very good, though, and the amplifier delivers oodles of power.Unfortunately, the contraption wouldn't find any DAB stations at all, not even one! I tried and tried again, but to no avail. The thing went through the auto-scanning process each time, always eventually yielding a message saying "No signal". This is quite absurd, because I'd put the Pembroke in exactly the same place where my old Evoke DAB radio had been, and the latter dinosaur had always found many, many DAB stations to choose from. The Evoke radio had been, as far as I know, the only DAB radio available in the UK at the inception of DAB broadcasts, which is when I had bought it, so it's many years old. Both the Evoke and the Pembroke use the same extending aerial system, of exactly the same dimensions.Unfortunately, then, this Majority Pembroke is just a load of junk to me, falling far below the reception standard expected.Very disappointing. Sorry about the bad review, but fact is fact. Many wasted hours trying to solve the problem, and more wasted time ahead when I eventually return the unit for a refund.

All Round Excellent Product
Present for my wife who wants radio stations from Ireland and around the UK. No more LW and the poor signal for RTE -no more DAB - no more being tied to one locality except for the odd national station -I know its corny but she is literally over the moon with what the Internet radio offers. I intend to buy her a second one as she needs two radios to get the coverage in different parts of the house without having to move the radio- although it is small and light enough to do that.. It was very easy to set up, volume is excellent - in fact can be very loud if you want it loud - all round excellent product. My wife now has all her favourites (and more) that she can listen to at the push of a button on the remote.Have now purchased second model. I popped into a major electrical retailer and they did not have an internet radio for sale.!!! Who in their right mind wants a DAB radio with limited stations and unreliability when most of us have our broadband connection on all day and you can get a perfect signal from anywhere in the world. My wife now has her local stations, her Irish stations - (stations she never dreamed of getting in the UK) and her national stations at the touch of a button. The DAB radios now gather dust. By the way this radio does include DAB but if you are thinking of buying a radio -get this Internet one - superb volume, superb choice, ease of use.

Disappointing sound quality
I really wanted to like this radio, but the sound quality was just not what I wanted. The sound is quite shallow and tinny. It looks good, seemed easy to use, but the primary thing I was looking for was a good sound and I am afraid it disappointed.Ok, the price is good and I guess that you get what you pay for. I have returned the unit and will seek something better and probably more expensive.
