Sturdy as I hoped it would be. Since it's for stabilizing the chess resin molds so they don't fall over and spill, I left the protective film on the base and holder. I don't care about it being shiny. Worth the cost. The stand column pieces have silicone bumper washer rings to secure the base and top (I had to put my glasses on to see the extra). Stable and sturdy design. I bought two, one for each set of chess players to get these done efficiently. I marked the sides for the larger pieces on the film (another reason to keep it on) so that I put the chess mold in the correct hole to hang and it doesn't fall through or be too snug that it doesn't come out well. Simple to put together and does a great job. I'm attaching a photo where I marked the larger holes for the major chess mold pieces. It cuts the guess work. I'm pleased with this purchase twice.

The acrylics used are nice and thick making the stand sturdy after assembly. It was easy to set up and the chess piece silicone molds I have fit perfectly in the holes. It’s a great help keeping the molds upright so they don’t fall and spill resin everywhere. Such a good price and functions the way it’s meant to. I liked it so much I had to get a second one.

If your making resin chess pieces this holder is a Must have! It made the job so much easier, an not only that it also made sure they stayed round at the bottom, the holder keeps them in place tightly, my molds came kinda bent a little but using this helped so much.

If you’re going to make a chess set out of resin, you definitely need this little gadget! The chess pieces have crosses at the bottom of them to hold them upright, but they’re easy to knock over. This holds the pieces where they don’t knock over. Definitely worth the money when you compare it to the cost of resin that you spill.

If you want to create magnificent chess pieces that have nice form from top to bottom, you cannot pour without one of these mold holders. This thing was super easy to assemble despite not really having any instructions. You may find that the bolts are different lengths; that doesn't matter. It comes with plastic washers, so make sure you have one on each side of the plates and you'll be fine. Be careful though, the washers are packaged on the bolt itself which has to be taken apart to thread through the plates and complete assembly.

Nice & sturdy! Last one I ordered had one row of the holes that were too small for even the pawns. I ordered another one that looked like it would be good because it was metal. I got both of these today & the metal one came with no legs! I am very happy with this one & would recommend it above the others
