Are there sharp edges or are the pieces rounded?

The pieces are all rounded. Very safe for Corydoras and other bottom dwellers. More like large sand grains than gravel.

Its like a mix of both. The black is tiny gravel and the whitish is finer sand like. I love it. Careful when vacuuming though
