love it
If you want a laptop to work and play, it's an excellent option! Now if you are looking for something portable to carry around and support it on your legs for 4 hours, I recommend you to see other DELL laptops, smaller and lighter.Like:The quality of the materialsWith an SSD it is very fast! excellent for working and gamingAlienware softwareKeyboard with hotkeys (Configurable colors ... you never get bored)Screen with a lot of brightness and practically without bleedSilent, even playing!, stays always cold.Configuration is high-end for its priceEveryone likes its design ... definitely an Alienware :)Dislike:It is big and heavyCame with a badly armed key, now it's fineCharger is giant and with an uncomfortable cableDrivers gave conflicts and errors, but after updating it is already working very wellThe hard disk is very slow, I recommend installing an SSDNo card reader! why!?Short battery life, but it's not the purpose to use it unplugged

Alienware beauty with a few issues
I have two Alienware laptops, a 13 inch and a 17 inch, both purchased and used daily since about four years ago. I've never had a problem or complaint about either one. They've both been workhorses and absolute joys to own and use.I was eager to get a new one just as a backup, extra laptop, and wanted this intermediate size laptop. Of course I wanted another Alienware, since I have been so happy with my other two.I had to return this unfortuately, and very reluctantly. Here are the pros and cons:PROS:1. This machine is gorgeous. The lights and ability to set the exact lighting scheme and colors make this a very fun laptop to own. The colors of the lights are beautiful. It's a work of art to look at.2. Amazingly beautiful screen, vibrant colors, wonderful detail, and an incredible experience to watch movies and videos on.3. Very easy to set up and use out of the box. I found this to be a very nice experience and was using this on the internet within ten minutes of unboxing it.Cons:1. I am a touch typist. I use my right thumb to press the space bar. While the keyboard was silent like my other Alienwares, the space bar made a loud clicking sound each time I used it. If I pressed it very gently there was no sound but trying to type on this as usual using touch typing made it a terrible experience. I had to listen to the constant non- stop clicking of the space bar. It was impossible not to be distracted by the sound.2. The keys on the keyboard are a tiny bit wider spaced apart than the keys on my older Alienwares, and also they are slightly harder to depress. I found it very hard to make the adjustment to using more hand strength to touchtype on the keyboard.3. The trackpad is not slippery enough. I felt like I was pulling on the skin on my fingers while trying to slide my fingers over it. I tried setting the trackpad to it's most sensitive setting, which didn't help. I was pressing my fingers down hard on the trackpad and in the process felt my skin being pulled on it.4. I found System Restore didn't work. I tried to set a restore point, and when I tried to get back to it, it wasn't there.I tried restoring the laptop to it's original settings three times, and each time got a message that something was wrong and it wouldn't work.5. Incredibly heavy. I found this felt like it was twice the weight of my older Alienware's, which are not light machines. I consider this a desktop replacement, not a truly portable laptop, due to the weight. It was with a heavy heart that I had to send this back to Amazon. I had loved the laptop, it's beauty and ease of setup, but it didn't have the amazingly smooth action on the keyboard and trackpad, and the lack of a working System Restore was the final dealbreaker for me.I don't know if the keyboard and trackpad is like this on all of these, or I just got a bad one. For me it was not usable for typing and that was the main reason I loved my older Alienwares.

BEWARE - poor computer, worse service
I bought this computer barely a month ago, and have already suffered a hardware malfunction that has fried the motherboard. Upon contacting Dell, the only option made available was to wait for a box to be sent to me, to send the computer back to them, to be repaired. For a $1,500 computer, I expect much better from them. This is putting me out of work, which in essence doubled the cost of this computer, assuming I get it back in the estimated week they offered. Frankly, I find it incredible they can’t offer anything more customer-friendly for a computer that is 5 weeks old, and cost this much.

It's decent once you figure out how to fully work it.
Decent little machine, sometimes It'll give you a pain. I've had numerous problems with it, but it's been working smooth so far. Great for playing 60-100 FPS on max settings, but it does get a little toasty.
