The perfect plastic alternative for sous vide cooking
Perfect for sous vide. We love cooking all of our meats sous vide but not thrilled about the continued plastic contamination, especially for long duration high heat methods. These bags work perfectly! Unlike vacuum sealing, there is no need to get all of the air out. Use a couple of magnets, drape the top over the edge of your container, and it works perfectly! The only downside, you have to clean the bags once finished. But they give you a loop you can attach upside down to any hook. Just be sure you put something to hold it open or it won’t dry all the way.

A great alternative to plastic for sous vide.
First things first, you gotta wash and rinse these out and let them air out. They need to offgas/air out for at least two days but after that there's hardly any smell to them and having cooked in them they definitely don't impart anything into your food. I cooked chicken in them, it came out perfectly. However it's pretty much impossible to keep a good shape to your chicken breast if that's what you're using. Because they don't vacuum seal the chicken isn't secured and just kinda squishes into the bottom. So i ended up w/ this big stuck together multi chicken breast glob at the end lol. But it separated easily and I sliced it up and was able to brown/sear the pieces that way which worked fine. They are also really easy to clean and turn inside out etc.

Great product for Sous Vide use
Really like these bags for sous vide use. They are pliable and easy to use for submersion method to remove air. They are easy to wash with soap and water, but retain the odor of what was cooked and need to be soaked in vinegar to remove most of it. The odor doesn't seem to affect the taste of whatever is cooked after. With all the medical news about adverse effects of nanoplastics, it seems that this is a good viable alternative to using plastic bags and adverse health effects from nanoplastics.

Very Happy With these Bags
Exactly as described. Came quick, very thin so should be pretty much the same as vacuum bag without all the single use plastic. I bought the extra large and large bags. Extra large is huge and in use in the pictures, large is maybe 1/2 gal, not sure but good size. They don't pass the stretch test, but I am not convinced that is relevant. They are currently sous viding a nice stew for me at 185 deg for 24 hours, easy to clean and no worries of plastics from zip lock or vac bags getting into food. Magnets are super strong and hold tight through my plastic container and both layers of the extra large bag.

Not long enough
These bags are just too short to be able to use them and keep water out by folding them over the edge. A decent sized roast just won’t fit. These are fine for small things though but the large bag really is not large at all.

Better than baggies
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I needed to sous vide a boneless leg of lamb, which was bigger than my chamber sealer. The bags worked great. Partial submersion got most of the air out, then the magnets held the bag to the side. I have tried this trick with baggies, this silicone bag worked a lot better. If your chamber sealer is as big as everything you cook, you don't need this. But if you occasionally need to cook a larger item, this bag is a winner.

No more plastic!
First, be sure to read the card that comes with the product. It says that the bags should be boiled in water (I think for 30 minutes, but can’t really remember now) before first use. When I got these sous vide bags, they did have a pretty strong smell. After boiling them, the smell was mild. After one use, it’s completely gone. Second, the bags do not seal at the top. You lower the bag into the hot water using the water displacement method. Once the meat, fish, veggies, etc. is submerged in the water (very important), you just lay the open end over the side of the pot. If the bag floats, you might need to re-submerge it to get more air out. You can use a large clip to clip the bag to the side of pot to hold it in position. You can also put something heavy right in the bag with your food, or on top of it to keep it submerged. Third, you put the bag in the water after it reaches the correct temperature. It probably doesn’t matter so much with meats that cook for a long time, but with fish or veggies, it might make a difference. Fourth, cleaning the bags isn’t too hard. Hot soapy water, rinsed and dried on a big bottle of soda worked for me. Fifth, if you’re cooking something for a very long time, be sure to cover the pot to reduce evaporation. You can buy a bag of ping pong balls, or I use a piece of tinfoil that I use over and over. I really love these bags!

Leaked.
Leaked at the seem. Does not seal. Tried to cook half of an eye of round, one of my favorite cuts to sous vide for 18 hours, then slice for roast beef sandwiches. But the bag leaked (see video). Also i heard that you can check silicon to see if it is food safe by seeing if it does not turn white when stretched. This turned white which is supposed to indicate it is not food-sage sicon.

Great sous vide bags, much better than even brand name Ziplock. Very reusable, and easy to clean. Not overly think so they conform to food great. Customer service is amazing, on of my bags ended up springing a leak, and they were more than happy to help me to get the problem resolved (replacement shipped) I am very happy to find a good supplier on Amazon.

A bit too small… if you want to make small it’ll work but if you are trying to make a meal for more than two people they are are bit too small.

It said 11” x 16” for the XL bag and 8” x 12” on description thus i chose this seller but the product is much smaller arrived! Also it smell of crayon. I do not trust this with my food!

Works well so far. I did do the 30 minutes boil before using, but I could still detect a chemical scent. But to be fair, boiling is at 212F, and when I did my cool at 130F there was no smell (except if deliciousness. I really like how thin they are, and how well the magnets (purchased separately) worked!
