The umami dashi soup stock has an incredibly delicate flavor. There are 7 main ingredients but I don't find any one of them dominant. Its the blending of those ingredients that make the 'whole greater than the sum of its parts'. By adding complementary ingredients, such as thinly sliced mushrooms, green onion, baby carrots, maybe a protein source, the result is quite delicious. Although there is fish in the ingredient list, the broth does not seem to have a 'fishy' taste, which I do not care for either. However, if you're super sensitive to that flavor, you might detect it.
