Love this entire product
I’ve used this dog food since it came out. Up until this purchase I’d been buying from the brands website as you got a much better price and bigger amount. Alas I ran out so I purchased from Amazon to get a bag sooner. I’ve respected and loved Katherine Heigl and her beliefs when it comes to animals and her pets. I’ve always been concerned about where ingredients in my dog food and treats come from. I will only buy if it’s an American brand and sourced from America. After following her for a long time on Instagram, I trust Heigl and knew I could purchase something incredibly healthy for my 2 dogs from someone who loves her animals just like me. There are some dog food/treats that are shady and not upfront about where the ingredients truly come from that I’ve had to actually contact, yes, contact, the brand because the bag has said you can contact them for sourcing countries, they won’t list on the bags. It will say it’s made in the USA, but the ingredients are coming from places like China or other Asian countries where animals have even less rights than here in the states. That’s been a huge eye opener for how shady some of these companies can be. I trust Heigl’s doing what’s best as a pet Mom and looking out for other pet Moms, like myself. The only downside of this brand is the price in relation to quantity, BUT, but I totally understand for good product with good ingredients it can cost more. Also keep in mind that the portions are smaller than your average dog food. READ the directions! As consumers I think we’ve become complacent about the price of a bag of dog food and forgotten that a lot of food out there relies heavily on grains and corn to fill our pets bellies. For those reasons I was okay paying a bit more for a well researched, developed and nutritious additive. I figure for a food that’s helping their bodies and minds, it’s still cheaper than an out of the blue vet bill. As I said, I have 2 dogs, one is 15 lbs and the other 24 lbs and this is a wonderful product. I’ve always been on the hunt for a founder and brand just like this! I’m going to be purchasing the food topper sold as well and introduce some of that, as directed, as both of my boys are approaching 14 years old. I highly, highly recommend making the transition and either feeding your dogs solely this product or mixing with dog food you’ve vetted as being made and sourced from places where dogs are loved and respected. Both of my boys are seniors but neither act like it and I know it’s because I’ve always done the best I could for them. Katherine- if for whatever reason you or your marketing read this, please look into dental treats for tartar and plaque. The brand I was using is now being made in Vietnam and that’s a no-go for me.

Dogs Tasteful Superfood
Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete by Katherine Heigl has been an absolute hit in our house. My dogs loved it—and that’s an understatement. The bowl was gone in seconds, and they were immediately looking for more. It quickly became the only thing they wanted to eat. You can tell this is made with care—real, nutritious foods that make me feel good about what I’m feeding my dogs. Even picky eaters had zero hesitation, which almost never happens. If you’re struggling with picky eaters or just want a high-quality superfood for your pups, Badlands Ranch is absolutely worth it. We’ll definitely be ordering again!

Dog loves
My dog LOVES THIS. It's pretty expensive so I use a food grinder to turn it into a powder so I can use it as a topper. Will buy more.

My dog loves it
My dog loves it. I put a little in her bowl and she ate it right away. It is a little pricy and realize it is healthier and better then regular kibble and soft can food.

Wonderful!!
I have a 9 year old, blind Shih Tzu who was rejecting his food. I re-researched what the most natural food on the market was now and the ingredients. I decided to try one that was highly recommended but my dog wouldn’t even taste it after he smelled it. It was one of those companies that required a subscription also. So now I’m left with a box of bags of food that my dog won’t eat. I then try a wet food and he was having none of that either. My concern is growing because my dog will not eat any kind of dog food so I had to start feeding him people food that I knew was good for him i.e. eggs, chicken, blueberries, etc. My next try was Badlands Ranch. It was all natural and I had watched Katherine Heigle’s videos so I felt confident the food was good for my dog also. I was able to order a bag without having to sign up for a subscription. The food came and my dog not only ate the food, he loved it. I also noticed that the Badlands Ranch food smelled good. This is the food, albeit a little more expensive, I will continue to give my dog because I know he loves it and I know it is good for him.

The best dog food I’ve ever given to my dogs, and it’s worth it.
We’ve used this for a little over one year with excellent results so I thought that’s enough time to really comment on the quality and effectiveness of this dog food. We have an almost 9 year old AmStaff with all the allergies and sensitivity issues common in the breed. We struggled for most of her life to get the digestion issue stable—tried everything including freeze dried raw. When avian flu infiltrated the farm system I anticipated that the pet food factories would be an easy vector for the disease so I looked for food that had high quality ingredients and the preparation necessary to be ensure safety (not raw). I did a lot of reading. I decided to try badlands ranch. It has been a revelation. This food is not raw—it’s cooked/heated, but not overheated in a kibble way. After the introduction period, my dog’s GI system has been consistent, regular, and firm. No more bouts of diarrhea. Her coat is shiny, and she looks and acts like she’s 3, which is a testament to its high quality ingredients. The skin allergies continue to be an issue, but I think it's mostly because of where we live. I can visibly see that her general health and GI system are excellent and I attribute a big part of that to this food. It is expensive, but I'm convinced it’s worth it. What you feed your dog is translated into general health—and fewer trips to the vet. Badlands ranch is the best dog food product I’ve given my dogs in 50 years of dog ownership. I highly recommend this dog food.

Taking a chance
Bought on Amazon to try. Heard the infomercial on FB by the creator, but did not want to commit to a food plan, as the reviews on that company's pg made it sound like many had difficulty with ending commitment. My pooch is a senior and extremely picky. This product sounded perfect. I hot the beef, her favorite flavor of kibble. She sniffed it, and wanted NO part of it. I gave the bag to my daughter, who also has a senior pooch. Same reaction. Ended up throwing it away. EXTREMELY expensive for a lityle over TWO ounces of foid, for TWO dogs not to want any part of it. I was contacted by the seller of this, who offered me a full refund after my review. I filled out everything, and never heard back. So...even their offer was bogus. Totally not worth it. Two dogs and no bites!

High Quality, A Little Pricey
My dog loves Badlands Ranch. I can't speak to how it tastes, I can only report that Apollo digs in with a lot of enthusiasm. With that said, I have to also say that I think this product is too expensive. $100 for a 5 pound bag seems excessive for me--and this will be especially true if you are on a budget. I do buy other things for my dog that are significantly less pricey, and although he may not be quite as enthusiastic about them, I do think he is still getting good nutrition. I'm giving this 4 stars because of the quality. If the price was lower (by at least 30%), I would easily give it 5 stars.
