Nice monitor with lots of screen space.
Bought used; had good luck before but this time first had 4-5p dead pixel line across horizontal span, and a bad DP cable, second was missing some accessories like the DP cable entirely (was rookie mistake sending first back before I got replacement, not that DP cable from first would've helped) but so far looks to be good panel except at 60Hz it had line artifacts, switching to 75Hz made it go away, first didn't do that, something I will have to look into further but for now will assume is not a problem. This early review. In middle of room renovation but just wanted make sure got good panel. Despite dead line was able to run some tests on first, and display what I would expect having owned quality IPS is past. Was able to change to 10-bit color in NVIDIA. HDR on this is a lot better than on Odyssey G9, little faded/dim but decent enough that you could leave it on, but still suck compared to normal desktop mode. However for content and things like comparing color tones maybe it could be properly considered a feature, will take more time to decide what I think about it. On unrelated point to this monitor, comparisons to some high end VA panels shows the quality of VA panels has increased to point I don't see much difference. Though I do agree that 1600p should become standard. It's time. Though 90Hz needs to replace 60Hz standard as well. Refresh rate is slow for this price point. But 75Hz is at least some polish over 60, and probably good thing for me because I pushing a lot of monitors on my GPU I would have liked more curve. But sense this isn't all that curved can still flip it around to vertical without looking weird and that something I may end up doing often. I use Fancy zones from microsoft powertoys (free) .. 3 windows across is decent at 150% zoom, will transition pages into condensed format and 2 windows generally gives full web page content width at 150% zoom. Anything below 125% is probably too small for comfortable reading at this resolution. Nice monitor with lots of screen space. Interestingly the speakers on this connected to my computer in background didn't notice until tried change volume on soundbar and nothing happened and realized was coming from monitor. I didn't connect audio cable, sense these speakers have BT connectivity, I assumed it was using that, to test I turned off bluetooth and continued to work, so audio is being passed through the DP cable which is pretty cool. Sound isn't bad at all, good quality at lower volumes so I'll probably use it when need avoid being heard by sleeping people in house. Of course Winamp's Milkdrop visualization looks amazing with this many pixels to play with. fullscreen 16:9 mode such as watching standard youtube content is 29" diagonal

Great monitor for Macbook Pro 2017
It was time to upgrade from dual 24" monitors and I was looking for an ultrawide monitor. There were not that many 38" monitors on the market and I've noticed that most of the screens are manifactured by LG. The prices ranged wildly from $800 - Acer Gaming Monitor 37.5" Ultra Wide Curved XR382CQK bmijqphuzx 3840 x 1600 1ms Response Time AMD FREESYNC Technology (Display, HDMI & MHL Ports) to $1500 (this monitor). This one was the latest model with no reviews at all. However, it was very similar to their previous 38" ultrawide - LG 38UC99-W 38-Inch 21:9 Curved UltraWide QHD+ IPS Monitor with Bluetooth Speakers which just got price reduction. I chose LG 38WK95C-W because: Pros * It's the latest model (2018) * Supports Macbook Pro (both hardware and software) * Amazing color, contrast and picture quality - great for video and photo editing Cons * Price - as an alternative you can buy previous model * 60Hz (75Hz with AMD card) refresh rate - not for serious gaming, but I don't play FPS games. TL;DR: If you can afford it - get this monitor. You will not regret it.

Very Happy!
Been using the monitor for about a week. I use it for work (programming) and personal use including light gaming. Very pleased. The 3840x1600 at 38" size is just right for a productive environment and a great alternative to a standard 4k and typical ultra wides. If you on the fence about this or a large 4k the 1600 vertical pixels is the perfect height. I am very happy I went this route and feel I would have neck strain using a large 4k. Pros: Size, Color (a pro artist may not agree), Text size without scaling is comfortable, Quality, and Packaging. Inbetween: The software works but like most vendors is not spot on. Cons: Provided cords could and should be longer.

Excellent monitor size. Fast delivery. I did a lot of research. It came down to 4k 32’, 49’ dell and LG, and 1800R curve from Samsung. The 1800R gaming from Samsung was ideal but there were reports of quality control. When the LG 38 went n sale it was $1189. Instead of buying $1600 for the 49’ I decided to go with LG 38 and save myself $400. It was a great choice. 38’ was plenty of space for me to have three tabs. LG looks very modern as compared to Dell dull grey and Samsung gaming look. I would say I try to be a minimalist clean desk table so LG fits the bill. The quality is a little less than 4k. But who uses 4k to do excel or programming? So far so good on my end. The only thing I dislike is LG 1 year warranty compared to Dell 3 years. I’m going to invest my $400 on something else. 4K tv?

Highly recommending this as an external monitor for a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018). Only one USB-C cable and you get power + native resolution without any issue. The display quality is just amazing. I also wasn't sure between this 38" (not being real 4K) or a real 32" 4K display and I am really happy with my choice. 38" curved is just an awesome workspace. Just wow.

Nice monitor and works well for me so far. Best with Mac over USB-C. Getting slight lag with a Windows laptop over HDMI although. The work space is huge.

Just received this monitor, so i might change the review over time, but here is my first impression of it. The monitor does not look so big at first because of it's aspect ratio, but when you start working on it, you will find it is and you need to put it as far as you can on your desk to be able to see all the content ! Great panel, brightness is good, color too. No dead pixel and there is no bleeding in black. package contain the monitor, power brick (power supply is external and almost the size of a real brick!), usb-c/usb-c cable, hdmi cable, display port cable, a usbA/usbC adpater and a cable management clip. in term of size, the height is the same exact size as the imac 27 inch without the bottom gray bezel (15.5 inch). in terme of width, this is almost 3ft large! I put the monitor just beside my old imac 27 inch and they fit good together on a 5ft large desk! DPI is only 110, so dont expect image quality of iMac5k display. For people who have older imac 27 inch, with 1440p display, this is similar in pixel density. Screen is matte so less reflexion. It take some time to be confortable with the new aspect ratio and the cuve of the monitor, but it's very nice for productivity ( you can open up to 4 pages in word at 100% side by side ! ) . Curve allow easier reach of corners information. Even at the 18 inch from the monitor you have to turn slightly your head to be able to see information from one side to the oder! I was affraid of compatibility with my older mac book pro, since it is almot a 4k display (3840x1600), but it worked fine with the MBP 15, late 2013 with a mini-display to display port cable bought separately. My MBP 13, late 2015 is also working fine with the same cable. I also tested my Acer Alpha 12 tablet with the provided usb-c cable and it also work perfectly using the full resolution at 60hz in all case. USB-C connection was also providing power to the tablet in bonus ! in term of sound, this is very good for a monitor. i would say almost as good as iMac 27 inch sound, or a small tv. Not speaker for a party with lot of bass, but it's ok to listen light music while working or video on youtube. As the sound travel though digital connexion, you wont be able to use the master volume control on you mac keyboard by default. You can use sunflowerbed audio driver to redirect sound and get back the control of it. You can also use the bluetooth connexion instead and you will regain the control of your master volume though the keyboard. You wont be able to get audio from display port or hdmi, if bluetooth is in use from another device. There is also a software that you can use to control certain settings, such as brightness, contrast or color temp. I dint find yet a way to adjust brightness though the keyboard as it was possible with the iMac. Also in setting you have a mode to have two differents input in use at the same time. It will literrally split the screen in half and get two different computers working at same time. Please note that it is not possible to get usb-c and display port input working side by side. You need to select either usb-c/displayport as fisrt input, and hdmi1 or 2 for the other half. some people were complaining that bluetooth was always on. it can now be disabled though settings menu. overall, i like the monitor for productivity work or video editing in FCPX as theyre is so much more place to work, but. for video watching, i prefer a 16:9 monitors as most movie are in 16:9 and big black bar will appear on this monitor on each side when watching in full screen.

Buyer beware from this 3rd party reseller OneDealOutlet Canada. I purchased this monitor (LG 38WK95C-W) near the beginning of the pandemic (2020) and had terrible experience with this reseller. I hope my message serves anyone reading this as a warning when you purchase expensive electronics such as monitors, tvs, computers etc from Amazon 3rd party sellers such as "OneDealOutlet Canada". Before making any purchase you should read up on Amazon's A-to-Z Guarantee return policy for 3rd party resellers and I highly recommend you research the company in this case "OneDealOutlet Canada" and read other reviews along with checking their customer satisfaction rating (77% as of writing this review isn't great). I would also recommend you google "OneDealOutlet Canada review" in your search engine and you'll see some very descriptive adjectives of other people describing the company. Basically this company is happy to take your money but their customer service is absolutely atrocious and they certainly do not want to take anything back and refund you if they can get away with it. When I purchased this monitor (LG 38WK95C-W) and it arrived in mail I brought it in my office and started taking things out of the box and I noticed 2 weird home made mini little pillows (see picture) in the box! I am pretty sure they are not standard issue in the factory they were made in and when i hooked everything up and turned it on it was completely broken with nothing but wavey lines (see picture) on the screen. No fault of LG or the monitor itself but it was just broken and I'm convinced wasn't even a new monitor and was a used broken product (I wouldn't be surprised if they knew about when they sold it). Anyways as per "Amazon Policy on A-to-Z Guarantee" for returns from 3rd party resellers it instructs you to contact the reseller through amazon which I did and they are required to respond within 48 hours. Amazon A-to-Z Guarantee policy also states you can within XX days return anything to a reseller and they HAVE to refund you. They were not very communicative but basically asked for a few pictures and info which i provided. They then blamed the shipping company and stated they opened a claim with them. Then the days and weeks go by and nothing, I kept following up saying I'd like to return it and according to Amazon Policy I'm allowed to send it back and they ignored every inquiry i asked and just repeated that a claim is with the shipping company. Fearing the window where I can return this product with the "Amazon A-to-Z guarantee" was coming to an end (approaching 2 months) I contacted Amazon with the situation and they told me to ship it back to them no questions asked and gave me their address and said I will get refunded. I shipped it back and I know they received it and more time goes by and nothing. I emailed the company again asking for an update on when I'd get a refund. Following that they quite smugly reply to me and say they're sorry for the inconvenience and I won't be getting a refund because i moved the box and the UPS claim was rejected. (keep in mind this claim was open for almost 2 months and UPS never reached out to me so wondering if they even made a claim with UPS). I had to complain about them to Amazon again and they asked for some shipping information and investigated it and then replied to me and Amazon told me that they (Amazon not this terrible 3rd party reseller) would refund me and they did, so in the end other than paying for shipping I got my refund. I certainly HOPE Amazon penalized them, fined them, or did something as punishment as I would imagine following the Amazon A-to-Z guarantee is a mandatory policy not a recommended guideline for resellers. Again I will re-iterate!!! Please do your homework/research before making an expensive purchase from "OneDealOutlet Canada". I will never...ever...ever again purchase an expensive electronic device off of a 3rd party reseller ever again, if it's not on Amazon and ships by Amazon prime then I'm not ordering it. I don't want to take away from all the business's that sell on Amazon and their are many great resellers and products you can purchase, I in fact purchase many products off Amazon that come from 3rd party resellers but to me the risk when purchasing something like an expensive monitor, tv, etc is not worth it when it's over $1000 and costs over $100 to ship it back. With Amazon you know you will get good customer service but with 3rd party resellers it can be a gamble so do your homework first. I'm not one to write reviews often and even if this product was broken and they provided good customer service and I either got a refund or a new and functioning LG monitor I wouldn't have said anything bad but they left me such a sour taste in my mouth and was certainly going to share my experience with others about it. I say this (and the reason I've finally added this review after all this time) is I just purchased another big screen LG Monitor (LG43UN700-b) off Amazon (not a 3rd party reseller).. and the experience was great... came in 2 days!!! I opened it up. and set it up in no time and it WORKED as expected!! as it should!
