Different but good
The texture of the chocolate was a bit unexpected. It is a little gritty, but it reminds me of chocolate with cacao nibs ground up in it. The texture does not bother me. The chocolate flavor is very intense. It is only slightly sweet--it is not sweet like a candy bar. I don't like a lot of sugar so this is perfect for me. I like that I can eat a chunk of it and not want to eat the rest of the bar. I used it to make some chocolate coconut almond butter, and it melted well and works very well as an ingredient. The chocolate flavor is very evident. Anyone looking for a Hershey bar is going to be disappointed. If you like natural dark (very dark!) and not very sweet chocolate, then this product is for you.

So delicious!!
I was so sad when my local Fresh Market stopped carrying this brand as itās the only safe chocolate option for my body per my doctor in order to keep lead and cadmium levels down. So thankful that the bars I got today were SO fresh as I was worried about the quality changing sitting on a hot truck somewhere. Hope this continues!! Love this chocolate, but more importantly Iām so thankful for peace of mind in knowing Iām getting all the good benefits and none of the toxic stuff!!

Not as sumptuous as Ghirardelli
It's good chocolate alright. I dont mind the bits of pure cocoa bean but the flavor is not as sumptuous as Ghirardelli Chocolate.

This tastes very bad.
I buy dark chocolate a lot. I eat a square of it every day as my thing I do that may or may not be good for me but I like it. This is the worst tasting chocolate bar I have ever had. My 13yr old son called it "dogfood chocolate." I would have used another word instead of food, but you get the point.

Great taste, interesting texture
I love super dark chocolate but finding one without unecessary ingredients has proven to be difficult. I usually get mine from Thrive Market but they have been out of stock for a couple months and this was one of the only other brands I could find that was organic and didn't have any added contidtioners. The taste is excellent, one of the best tasting dark chocolates I have had. The texture is a bit gritty but the name says stone ground so between that and the reviews I expected that. I don't mind the texture at all just don't get this expecting nice, smooth chocolate. This is definitely for someone who likes the pure, somewhat bitter taste of chocolate.

Not theb same Wicked Dark they used to make
I was a real fan of the old Wicked Dark, which was 100% chocolate with nubs. It had a wonderful mouth feel and a little crunch, super dark. This new product is just not wicked at all. The mouth feel is too smooth, it has a cooling sensation like it contains xylitol, though the label says just sugar. The portion sizes are bigger, and the bar is difficult to crack alone the lines. I will have to look for my dark chocolate fix somewhere else.

The Best Chocolate
I don't know how they do it. It tastes so much better at 95% chocolate and the same 2grams of sugar than the next best brand that has 92% chocolate and 2 grams of sugar. The main difference that is obvious is that Taza brand Wicked Dark does not have any fats added separate from the beans such as cocoa butter or lecithin. The other obvious difference is that Taza lists organic cacao beans whereas the competitor uses cocoa beans. I have read that cacao is heated at a lower temperature than cocoa beans which normally leads to cocoa having the milder and less bitter flavor. And yet, Taza tastes far more mild than the cocoa competitor and has fewer different kinds of bitter flavor. Another way to get a smoother and sweeter taste profile with less sugar is to "dutch" cocoa with an alkaline solution. This leads to less acidity which means a milder and smoother flavor with less sugar. But, this chocolate indicates that it is not alkalized. So, it is interesting that it tastes milder, less acidic, smoother and a bit sweeter than the competitor that says it is made with cocoa versus Taza's ingredients listing just cacao and sugar (and actually a lower percentage of sugar). I am giving 5 stars assuming 100% honesty and disclosure and no deception. But, I am curious about how all of that is accomplished.

Muy buenos en mi opinión

I am chocolate liver, and I wanted to try this brand, but I am disappointed. The one bar is too small, I did not taste any different from any other 95% of cocoa. This one costs 10$ for one bar, others will not exceed 4$. No thank you, will not buy it again.
