I initially acquired a bright chrome base but the contrast was an eyesore. Mind you it was a fraction of the cost of this. However, the color of this matches my Gunmetal T2, so I had to have it. It’s heavy and stable, and fits my Double edge razor perfectly. It allows my razor to stand and air dry after I shave. It is an elegant and simple design.

Finish/color matched my Rockwell 6C gunmetal razor perfectly. Base weighs 186.4 g / 6.58 oz without razor. The stand is designed so the handle fits perfectly (diameter) and in the bottom there is a slightly smaller hole drilled to allow drainage without allowing the handle to pass all the way through the base. If your also purchasing this to go with the Rockwell 6C razor - consider getting a razor cover to protect the blade when not in use. Rockwell makes an inexpensive one specifically for this razor, but if they still don't offer their cover on Amazon - look for the one offered by Fendrihan Safety Razor Head Leather Cover Sheath, Black (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079ZCDMV8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviews) as it also fits the 6C razor head. It can be seen in the attached photos.

I really like the quality, weight and size of the stand. The opening on the top is the perfect size for a safety razor. I would recommend to anyone!

Overall it's sturdy and will hold your razor. This will hold a feather razor with some play. Maybe 1/8 or 3/16 of an inch of wobble play. This will not fit your merkur razors.
