BEST Work Jeans EVER
I LOVE these jeans! I've been wearing Carhartt jeans for over 10 years, and when I want my jeans to last, and be able to beat the s*** out of them on a regular basis without worrying about whether or not they'll hold up, I only get these. The seams never fall apart like Levis do after a few years, it takes FOREVER for any holes to show up, like in the knees or wherever. The hems fray after a few years, but I do wear my jeans long because I like to have room to move around while I work. Still, This is only the 3rd time in that 10 year period I've bought new jeans. Two pair each time, and the only reason I'm getting new ones this time is because I'm in the Navy and I kept getting yelled at for the frayed hems as I was leaving my ship after work. I still kept the old jeans, I just can't wear them on base anymore. Good thing I separate in a month! Seriously though, I cannot say enough good things about these jeans. They fit loosely, plenty of room in the seat and thigh, so you won't feel like you're wearing a tighter cut like with some of the other brands' work dungarees. The hammer loop on the left leg holds up great, I usually had something hanging from there while I was working back home. It'll hold a lot of weight. There are a couple little pockets on the right leg that (if you smoke, I used to but I quit) perfectly fit a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. The main pockets are HUGE and can fit a lot of stuff, and the seat of the pants is roomy enough that you can actually put stuff in your back pockets too. Like I said: BEST WORK JEANS EVER

Good Work Pants
Overall these are very good work pants. Waist and inseam sizing is perfect BUT I suggest ordering the next longer inseam size if you plan to dry these on a high heat setting because they will shrink a little. Dungaree fit gives lots of room to move while working (bending, squatting, etc.). The fabric has a tight weave which means durability but it is a little lighter than typical blue jean denim. Therefore, you might want some long underwear if you plan to be outside in cold windy conditions for a long time. The design and workmanship are great too. Triple stitching on out-seams and inseams mean durability. Longer double sewn pocket bags are great for stuffing and not worrying about losing what you put in there. The utility pockets on the legs are great for tools when you don't really need a tool belt. The utility pocket on the right leg is perfect for a smart phone (IF you dare). The watch pocket is good for loose change and small things. I've been wearing Carhartt clothing to work for almost 40 years. These pants are typical of Carhartt quality. Finally, they look great with a pair of heavy work suspenders.

These were a perfect fit for my everyday needs; update
I am not a carpenter or workman who wears these jeans in a construction or workshop/factory setting. I am instead a retiree who works from home when I do work. I was looking for a pair of jeans with lots of pockets so I would not again lose my iPhone out of a pocket that is way too shallow for its own good. I row on a machine, and as a result, my legs have gotten bigger; I was looking for pants that did not fit like sausage casings. I also find it uncomfortable to sit on a wallet, and wanted some alternatives to a back pocket. I found all the features I wanted in these jeans. For the environment I need these jeans for, the fabric is heavy enough; if you are a construction worker your needs will likely differ. I bought a pair of the heavier-weight fabric version as well. The main pockets are nice and deep; no involuntary donations of change every time you sit down. The side pockets are large enough for the iPhone 5 sized phone. I can also put my wallet in the side/leg pocket so that I don't have to sit on it, which I find quite literally a pain in the butt. There is room in the thighs in case you don't have minuscule quads. If I had one wish, it would be that Carhartt make a line without the hammer loop. If I were still working in an office, these are perhaps a bit too informal, whereas without the hammer loop I wouldn't hesitate to wear to work. This was my second purchase of Carhartt; the first was a flannel-lined pair of black jeans. So far I have been very happy with both purchases. I particularly like all those extra pockets. Update: March 2022 Since the original review, I've had a chance to really compare the two fabric weights. The 15-ounce fabric was great, and wears wonderfully. I bought additional versions of the 15-ounce fabric pant as my waist size decreased. I am not as fond of the 12-ounce version. Late in 2021, when trying to reorder the 15-ounce fabric, I learned that Carhartt had discontinued this model. It's a shame. I was hoping that they would bring it back, but it hasn't happened so far. As noted in the original review, I wish they would come out with a line using the original 15-ounce denim without hammer loops. It would also be great to make at least one of the pant leg pockets a bit larger so that it will actually fit newer cell phones. You can't fit even an iPhone X into the leg pockets. If anyone from Carhartt pays attention to these reviews, that is my 2¢ worth. I will add that I have started to explore alternatives to Carhartt, and am prepared to switch to a different brand.

Very Good Jeans for IT Environment - Fits a Big Smartphone
These jeans are just a bit thinner than I would expect from "work dungarees", although I have never owned Carhartt jeans before, and work in IT. I can't tell you how well they hold up to the abrasions of the construction world, but I can tell you that the measurements are spot on. All of the three that I ordered at the same time are made exactly the same, and are high quality construction with correct measurements. I normally wear Levi carpenter jeans, so I was expecting a 30" waist to fit me large, because Levi used to make their jeans a bit larger than the stated size. Carhartt makes their waist measurement on the mark, so these fit smaller than I expected, but only because I was expecting them to be oversized. After the first wash and wear, they feel very comfortable. There is no significant break-in period like there is with Wranglers. These are soft and pliable, and I find it easy to move around in them. The color did not seem to face after the first wash, which can be an issue with some jeans. The carpenter pocket on the right thigh is the perfect size to fit a large smartphone WITH the case. I use a Samsung Galaxy S4 with a Ballistic SGMAXX case, and it slides in without more than a slight amount of friction. Removal is just as easy. That's a huge benefit, and exactly why I chose these pants over some of the other brands. The one con I have experienced with these jeans so far is that the large leather Carhartt tag on the back right pocket is very annoying when inserting my wallet into that pocket. It gets stuck there every time, and takes away the seamless motion of putting away my wallet. Your mileage may vary, but I'm going to remove that label to avoid the frustration.

Roomy, Tough, Cheap; the Opposite of Levi's
Levi's are the worst. They sit down near your crotch, so they cut you in two every time you bend. There is no room in them to squat or bend over. The cotton is cheap and wears out fast. The pockets are small and useless. The stitching is weak. Carhartt jeans are superior in every way. The waistband is at your actual waist, so it doesn't interfere when you move, and because the pants are longer overall, they don't make you look like you have stubby legs. There is plenty of room to move around; jeans that stick to your skin are for teenage girls and Michael Jackson. There are lots of big, useful pockets, including a cell phone pocket. The seams are triple-stitched. They run a little big. I find the 34's loose, and I'm pretty sure my waist is more like 35". Get away from silly, overpriced hipster jeans and come home to Carhartt. This is what a man wears.

TROPICAL WEIGHT DENIM
Is this a joke, the leather patch on the rear pocket says Carhartt, the style is similiar to the Carhartt work jeans I've purchased in the past , [missing the seam that normally runs horz. across the back of the jeans above the rear pockets], so are these the real deal or a counterfeit imitation. Or has Carhartt sold Amazon the rights to use it's label and manufacture Carhartt work jeans to Amazon's own specifacations ? Very light weight denim material. The denim material used in the construction of these work jeans is a lighter weight version of the material used in relaxed fit Levi jeans. That can be a good thing if your lookiing for a pair of very comfortable loose fitting jeans for casual wear. What these jeans lack in denim density they, make up for in added extra material through out . The sizes of these jeans ,W,L , are right on, with extra room where it's needed, fore a ease of movement, loose fit feel. The Lighter weight denim for a work pant is why I only gave them a 3 star rating, otherwise the quality and construction is excellent and if you are doing construction work in a warm climate , having work clothes constructed of lighter weight material can be a big plus.

This world doesn’t make pants for short people
The material is strong, heavy duty like the brand. They’re baggy like I like him but they’re too big for me even though I bought the size that would fit me they don’t make him for short people they make him for tall slim people unfortunately down south of the border there’s more short people, Carhart, if you made him shorter for short people, you’d probably make more money, because the hardest working people are south of the border
