One of my fav artists, good quality book with amazing pics and tips

Couldn’t recommend this book enough! Its great to see the concept art behind an amazing piece, and it is even better to see the early art behind an amazing artist! As an artist honing my craft, this book was full of inspiration. The biggest takeaway for me was creating a “safe space” for sketching. All too often I get down on myself when I can quite figure out proportion or perspective when I’m drawing and I get discouraged. Loish reminds us of the importance of sketching away anyway and letting yourself make these mistakes anyway. With practice you’ll get it down, but if you don't practice you won’t progress. She also spends some portions of the book talking the reader through her process. Super helpful! Lovely book. 10/10

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for one of my siblings who really liked it. Before wrapping it, I looked through the book and was quite pleased with choosing this one. I knew I wanted to get him a Loish book as I've always loved the artist's work, but the sketchbook was the right call for him as a beginner. The art was gorgeous, the information was helpful, and the book itself was of good quality. Definitely recommend for anyone interested in art.

love this artist. This book, like the title says, is more of a personal sketchbook than it is "tips and tricks" though it also has a lot of that as well.

When I look through this I realize that I will never be this good. Ever. Loish’s work is just the best. I remember when I first found her, I just thought that if god came down and gave me the drawing skills I wanted it would be to draw like her. Even though I’ll never be able to draw like this, I love this book. It’s so inspiring and informative. I have her other book too but I like this one better just because I really enjoy watching the process. Buy it. Support this incredibly talented woman and get a book that you will take out to inspire you frequently.

I've been really struggling with my art, even with watching tons of online tutorials. This has already helped me move forward and learn to love the art of an imperfect sketch.

The images are beautiful and gives so much inspiration as I embark on my own creative endeavors. The binding and cover are very nice quality. It is a hardcover book too, and came in a cool sleeve that that gives it a collectors item feel. Overall really love it!

Great book with journey and history of the artist, insight into the art, tips and advice on making your art in similar style. The only reason it didn't receive a perfect score is because some of the pictures, although quality, did not translate well into print. Maybe add a code for a site where people who bought the book can view all the art online.

Estoy súper contenta con el libro! Me ha llegado en la fecha estimada y en perfecto Estado. Es una maravilla de libro Y me encanta que venga con una cajita para mantenerlo en buenas condiciones, trae muchísimos dibujos y una parte al final con pequeños tutoriales. El color que da Loish es precioso, es un libro para mirar y mirar muchas veces y aprender un poquito de esta gran artista. Enamorada de mi libro.

Eu amei o livro, muito fascinante, ilustrações belíssimas e inspiradoras, tem um tutorial, achei magnífico!! A única coisa que me decepcionou muito, é que a embalagem chegou violada. Alguém aqui no Brasil tentou abrir minha encomenda, mas o que esperar desse país, não é mesmo?? Fora isso, estou ENCANTADA!! Te amo, Loish!!!

I got this book for around 22sgd and I have no regrets at all! This is a phenomenal artbook and well the first artbook i got from loish. I read through the entire book within minutes and I absolutely adore the various sketches she has done as her drawings are all so fluid and expressive. She gives some useful tips and talks about her art process a little which was certainly insightful. The shipping was quick and the book itself was delivered safely in a relatively good condition. If you are debating on getting it, I will highly recommend you to do so especially when the price is lower!
