Great Charger!
We love the outdoors. We also like to take pictures & videos in the outdoors. What we don’t love is our phones or cameras going dead while we camp. We typically use external batteries to charge our devices while we sleep. If we are going to be out for an extended period of time, we have to being a lot of batteries. This can get heavy. Enter the 10w Solar Charger by Foxelli. We picked up this charger for the sole intention of charging our batteries during the day so we can charge our devices at night while we sleep. We put this charger through the paces and here’s what our tester reports. First, some quick stats: Converts up to 16% of solar energy into power for USB devices Has 2 outputs to charge 2 devices at the same time Puts out 1.85A in total charging power Automatically detects input needed for connected devices Has multiple loops (8) and 2 carabiners for hanging or attaching It is weather resistant & durable Weighs only 1.23lbs so it is hardly noticed in (or on) your pack Open size: 24.6″ x 8.7″ x .6″ Folded size: 8.7″ x 6.1″ x 1.2″ What we liked: We were really surprised ho light this was. Since it doesn’t have it’s own battery, there isn’t much to weigh this charger down. We also like all the different areas for attaching. Attaching it to a number of backpacks and there were no issues. We found that it charged best when laid out on a log angle for the right sun exposure. Being able to charge 2 separate items is also a plus. That way, we didn’t have to prioritize which device to charge first. The outside of the unit is a canvas material that is fairly easy to clean. Charging our phone How we tested the solar charger: Like I mentioned earlier, we like to use external batteries to charge our devices while we sleep (aka not using them). We charged 2 different external batteries. On of the batteries has an output of 1000mA and the other, 10,000mA. Both batteries were completely dead when we hooked them to this solar charger. Obviously, how much of a charge there exists, will effect the recharge time, so we started with dead batteries. We hooked both backup batteries to the solar charger at approximately 8:00 AM. We left the charger on a log all day, not bothering to angle it for optimal sun exposure. Each of our batteries has an led indicator to show that is is charging and how full the battery is. The 1000ma battery was fully charged by 1:00 PM! Solar Charger 2 USB outlets! Since we were charging 2 separate devices and the solar charger had to split the 1.85A, it probably would have charged even quicker had we only hooked up the 1 device. We unplugged this batter and stored it away for use in the evening. The 10,000mA battery was about 1/2 full by lunch time. At the end of the day, and the sun had gone down, the 10,000ma battery was indicating 75% charged. Keep in mind, that this larger battery will charge a phone about 4 times. Next we attached the solar charger to a back pack (vertically) and tested only the small battery. We didn’t hook it up until about 10:30 in the morning and since it wasn’t laying flat and getting full sun exposure to the whole unit, took the rest of the day to charge the battery. This smaller battery will charge a phone once per charge, so this was still pretty good. Solar Charger Charging the batteries Finally, we hooked our phone to the solar charger since there is a really good charge indication. We used a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. We laid the charger on a log then plugged in the phone. It is important to note not to put the phone in the pocket of the charger. It will get hot in there & could damage the phone. We just tucked the phone underneath. Here are the time stats: Time Battery Notes 11:05 5% Plugged phone in 11:45 38% 12:15 65% 12:45 89% 1:15 100% Charged in full! What we would change: There isn’t a whole lot we would change about this solar charger. It works and it works well! I’m sure there are people that would want different colors, but we’re good with the basic black. Some may even want a USB cable to be included but with all the different variations, that isn’t really possible. So I guess, we really wouldn’t change a thing. Conclusion: This solar charger is a great unit! While we didn’t experience testing it in any weather, it did sustain a fall off the log from high winds. We found by simply connecting our batteries and letting them go all day, we had plenty of power! If you need more power, Foxelli makes a 21w model that puts out 3.5A. So far, we have been impressed with the quality of products from Foxelli. We have their hammock, this solar charger, and their trail camera. We are not disappointed by their products. This is a must have for any camper, hiker, or outdoors person!

Worth every cent!
This is the perfect solar charger above 7 watts. I'm extremely happy I went with the 10 watts instead of the common 7 watts or lower. It shows. I received this on a perfect beautiful sunny day. So outside it went to test. I like electronics and have been turning wrenches for years so I have plenty of battery packs sitting around to try. Nice sunny day this works flawlessly, I mean extremely well, especially if you have it set up to where you don't have to keep moving it every few hours and chase the Sun all day. The USB ports are nice and firm and in a nice little hide away pouch. WARNING: DO NOT LEAVE YOUR ELECTRONICS IN THIS POUCH, IT GETS TOO HOT. Instead just place it underneath the panels or in the shade if your panels are angled. I don't feel like a USB connection will slip out while it is inside or attached or laid out on your pack while on the move during hiking/camping/Fighting Zombies/etc. The material the panels are wrapped in seem very tough and can take abuse from being tossed around in your pack or from being banged around while hanging from your pack. Definitely helps whens being dropped. It is waterproof, yes it was left outside in the rain. Heavy enough to not just get blown away in the wind and I live in ND, light enough to not notice it is being carried with your gear. The loops themselves are great. However, the amount of loops are even better and are very nice to have. I know it may be obvious but dang it they are very handy while trying to position or hang. I know it doesn't seem that big of deal until you dealt with a couple that have no loops or only one on each end. Super quick and easy to position or adjust to your environment. You can use more of the loops to keep it closer to your pack while on the move so it doesn't swing around back and forth. The only thing negative I can say about this, is the clips could be a bit beefier, but they aren't bad just a bit too tiny to my personal liking.

Great product, but just plug your phone in if you need speed
Only givin it just 4 stars instead of 5 because it doesn’t charge super quickly, but then, I guess I knew that when I bought it instead of the larger panels, so maybe that’s not actually fair... Anyway, I’m pleased with it. Charged an iPhone 10% higher in about 30 minutes sitting on a windowsill the first time it was used and it wasn’t a super sunny day.

Perfect, works as intended (and needed, too)
...This is for the 10w model... With outdoor activities and working with a Search and Rescue team, I was looking for a means to charge my smartphone's backup battery banks in case of emergencies; all I kept seeing were those one panel power bricks, but after review, they didn't quite match what I was looking for (especially with their lengthy charge times). Then I saw these three panel chargers... perfect for attaching to a backpack or strapping around a tree. After looking at further reviews, I settled between two brands, with the Foxelli winning over simply for the addition of multiple attachment loops. It was the little things like this that made it stand out. Though I know the larger 21w model would have a faster charge rate, I picked the 10w because I didn't need the digital display: I looked at what I needed and stuck to it; this fits beautifully strapped to a backpack, don't require a digital display, and wasn't planning on running devices while charging (if that would even work). This works, and works well, for how it was advertised: charging battery packs during the day so that you can charge your phone at night. If you are planning on charging your phone with this charger, if you're wanting any sort of positive results, your best bet would be to turn off your phone and wait. Does it charge quickly? No, it's not big enough / designed for that, and it shouldn't be expected to; it's going to take some time to get a full charge, and operating a device at the same time is just going to prolong things. I'm hoping to do some testing later this week, to see how long it takes to charge a 4000mAH battery (which is big enough to give my old Galaxy S4 two charges).

Sturdy doesn’t feel cheap runs well!
So my SO and I are active duty military and he’s going into the field soon. No power out there but I want to keep in contact with him while he’s out. I just unboxed it. I love how sturdy it is and that it came with little carabiners to attach it to things. I laid it out on my dash to see if it works and it’s currently charging my phone so there’s that. I’ll leave an update as to how it works more while he’s in the field. So far so good! UPDATE 4/24/19 My boyfriend has been in the field 2 days and he says it’s great! It takes a little longer than normal to charge even in the full sun but that’s expected because it’s solar power. I’m glad I bought this! I’m happy to be able to stay in touch Update #2 5/9/19 It works wonders! He was able to charge the whole time in the field. I’m greatful this actually worked. Don’t know what I would’ve done if it didn’t. Definitely worth the buy

Convenient and powerful little solar panel
Charges everything pretty fast, I had it outside charging my phone and it charged it 30% in like 10 min which was really nice. It’s super durable too, I always just laid it on the ground when camping and dirt and bugs didn’t bother it. I was also rock climbing and it fell and got wedged in between a crevasse. But when I got it out it was fine and wasn’t scratched (it actually was still charging my phone while I was trying to get it out lol). Overall it’s a nice portable solar panel charger that does its job and is durable and convenient. Side note: I really love all the loops for carabiners that the panel has but I think they should give u 2 more because I wanted to connect it to the bottom of my bag but ran out of carabiners.

PASS THIS UP please!
Ok. I write reviews mostly based on I really like the product or I really don’t like the product. I had this product in the sun, on the porch, propped up, and changed tilt numerous times throughout each day. It was directly for 3 straight days. Made sure phone needing charging, it was on 16% and I connected this solar charger and after a few minutes, the phones power reduced to 15%. That’s when I decided to write this review. This charger let me down during the recent power outage snow/ice storms here in the south. 3 days no power. I actually gave the charger the benefit of the doubt saying to myself it’s my fault, I didn’t place in sun long enough blah blah blah. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. I READ ENOUGH REVIEWS TO BUY AND I THINK THIS PRODUCT IS THE TOP 3 Worse things I’ve ever purchased on amazon.

Seems solid & prompt service.
I have not used this product yet. I can say that ordering & receiving it was prompt. The product seems solid & well made, but have not charged it or used it to charge yet. I might also mention that it came with a bonus gift of a small flashlight. Ironic because I avoid buying items requiring batteries when at all possible. Hence, the motivation to purchase the solar charger. So while well intended the battery operated flashlight was not a bonus to me.
