We swear by Zicam. Any time one of us feels a cold coming on, we immediately grab Zicam. This flavor is great and our now favorite. Cherry isn't the best as it reminds me most of childhood medicine, but the orange flavor & the lemon-lime are definitely good!! Not sure if Zicam truly works or if it's a placebo effect, but it seems to work for us one way or another

I am typically not a big believer in "preventative" medicine for colds but I had a LOT going on when I started to feel the dreaded tickle in the back of my throat so I was desperate and I tried Zicam. I felt the tickle on Saturday and started taking it, then Sunday I felt a little worse, Monday felt a little worse and stayed home from work but when I woke up on Tuesday I was almost back to feeling 100%. Probably one of the shortest colds I have ever had. I believe I got it from a coworker and his cold lastest about a week and a half where as mine only latest about 3 days. I will say that I was also resting and taking it east, gargling with salt water and using a neti pot in addition to the Zicam. Some side effects I found were mild insomnia and a slight loss of smell but I believe the smell was due to my plugged up nose. Overall, I feel I had a good experience with using this product for the first time and will probably use it for the next cold that creeps up on me.

Zinc + EmergenC (before the onset of a cold) = less severe cold. That's my non-scientific conclusion I've come to after my years of using/testing Zicam. Someone told me about this tip years ago, and ever since I started using Zicam and Emergen-C, 1000 mg of Vitamin C, 30-Count —right as I sensed a cold was developing, my colds haven't lasted more than a day and weren't very severe. — PREVENT A COLD — When I say, "right before a cold", I mean that weird feeling in the back of your nose/throat before a cold hits (pay attention the next time it happens). When you get that feeling, start taking Zicam every 4-5 hours, along with one pack of EmergenC a day, and drink lots of water. Repeat this for two days, tops. Once your cold hits, stop taking Zicam, and only vitamin C and lots of water. If you should get a fever, take some Advil. I have done this for nearly every cold for the past five years and my colds have not been bad at all. There were occasions that I didn't take Zicam in time and the colds were bad ("Is there a drug store nearby? I need Zicam right now!"). Don't take this if you already have a cold; it will help *before*, not after you get a cold. That's my experience with Zicam. Take what you will from that, but don't consider it professional medical advice. Recommended. *** TIP *** Don't overdo the zinc. Only take it when necessary. I've read that taking too much may reduce your taste bud sensitivity. You don't want that.

This is something great to start taking at the first sign of a sore throat, when I take it often enough (several times in one day) it nips my symptoms in the bud and I am usually fine by the next day. Recently I started to come down with a cold while traveling, I took a dose before setting out for the day and because I made the mistake of packing it in my suitcase, didn't get to take another dose until late that night. Because of that, I still got sick and felt pretty bad for a couple of days but it did shorten the duration of my symptoms. Now I make sure I always have some on hand as this is not something you want to order and wait for delivery when you start to get sick.

The taste is great and I didn't get sick like the rest of my family did. I faithfully use these when a sickness comes around and I feel they work great for me

I just tried this product last week, when I was coming down with a bad flu. I happened to be really busy at the office so it was very annoying to everyone. a coleague of mine mentioned this product to me: it worked on him and his wife very effectively. I immediately ran out and bought a few. I tried it for 2 days: it definitely relieved my symptoms,and I felt my flu went away faster than expected, since my first day was miserable before i start to take it, my second day was considerable tolerable, my third day it was almost gone. so I ordered some more from amazon to give to my kids in college. I feel this product is very effective in fighting flu!
