Awesome boots!
I was a little nervous ordering a pair of boots a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear. But I trusted their recommendation and the boots fit perfectly! Extremely happy.

Geat value and quality
Got these boots for hunting this fall,I am s10 ordered s11,lots of hiking through wet snow and mud, boot are waterproof up to where the tongue is attached, they are not breathable, good traction, doesn't clog with mud, good comfort.i would buy again, but s12 and triple the socks, and waterproof the tongue,if xpeti continues on this price point I think they will gain customers from the big name guy

Expected yet unexpected
I bought this pair to replace a previous pair of the same brand (Cordura model) I purchased almost a year ago. I use these boots as my work boots and seeing as I work in a refrigerated environment (40°F avg.) I thought I would give the insulated model a try. As expected, fit was exactly the same and it should be as previous pair/model are made on the exact same footbed and overall shoe design, just different upper materials. Now, we get down to the nittt gritty...dry traction is not quite the same as the previous pair but pretty darn close. Compared to the previous pair, wet traction on the other hand (the non-slip advertisemnt) is non existent; it's as though the formula for the sole rubber has changed. Wether it has or not, I can not say for sure as I have not asked the manufacturer about it. By comparison to the previous pair, it's a night and day difference, I don't feel the grip and stability under foot when walking on the wet concrete (something I often have to do at work) and metal dock plates as the previous pair which seemed to grip with great tenacity in all the conditions I face at work daily. As I mentiined earlier, my work environment is refrigerated and my toes would get quite cold at times, hence why I opted for this "insulated" pair as my repacement. The manufacturer advertises that the insulation is effective at keeping one's feet warm down to -13°F...well, suffice it to say, these do not live up to that claim by a long shot, my toes are just as cold in this pair as they were in the previous pair. Am I going to return this pair....not just yet. They are comfortable and do seem to be quite water repellent (upper material) and not enough of an issue in the work environment at this time that I feel it's pertinent to do so. I just have to walk with more care than I normaly would when the floors are wet. In all honesty though, I am still debating on sending them back because I don't want to risk a "slip and fall" injury that could cost me in the long run. I have barely had them a week and only worn them to work 4 days. I'll give them till the end of the week and see if the "wet grip" changes any at all (maybe the sole needs to "break in"). My only other beef with the shoes (this is referring to the other pair and pretty much every other shoe brand out there)...why is the heel counter material so weak and thin? This area of just about every shoe on the market is the first spot to deteriorate in a shoe and it makes shoes uncomfortable and a pain to take off without one's heel catching on the material preventing the shoe coming off when wanted. A wedge shaped piece of high abrasion resistant material like Cordura for instance in this location would do wonders for the durability of the shoe. Is this instance enough of a deterrent to go back to this manufacturer again for another pair of shoes...I think not. This could just be a fluke, a one off instance but if any of the other styles offered by this manufacturer are like my first pair and offer up the same kind of traction as that pair had, i will definitely look to them for my next pair of hiking shoes/ boots.

The only book I buy for hiking. Great
These are fantastic boots. They are waterproof and last even with daily use year after year. They boots I ever buy. So comfy and the built in ankle support is fantastic. I have MS and the extra support help keep me outside and moving. My son sprained his ankle twice last year so I bought a pair for him. He isn't a boot lover but he loves these, no more ankle injuries.
