READY STEADY DEFEND Rat Trap Boxes with Bait Attractant - Easy to Use, Secure & Tamper-Resistant, Effective Rodent Control for Home and Outdoor Use

This is one of 6 traps we have tried for an area rat infestation. We have cats and neighbours with kids and dogs so wanted to avoid poison in doors. Unlike normal snap traps these are not open to fingers and paws. They are more like bait boxes but without the poison. The rats here are very trap savvy, and ignore other traps. In 7 days careful placement using the paste and some scraps has killed 3 rats. Each time death was quick. The cable not only activates the spring safely, but means you can easily see if trap is waiting or sprung. It also means when disposing of dead rats you can do so using the cable at arms length. Just ordered a third trap, throwing away most of the others we had! Paste seems good generally, bit worth noticing your local rat's fav nibbles! Also need to put where they are going in your home, not where is convenient! Also recommended to use gloves when setting, smell of human can deter. Rats have a phobia of new things so can take a week for results as they get used to the new thing, although I killed the first 2 with the trap in 45 of putting it in place because they loved the smell of the paste, so this does vary!

Did what it said it would, but only after I switch the attractant (which did not work) for some peanut butter.

These are good traps - easy to use. Only one complaint - one of mine came without a key but when I contacted the seller they said they were unable to supply a replacement key which I thought was very unsatisfactory but not enough to lose a star. I now have to look after the one key I have because if I lose it I will not be able to use the traps at all. If anyone has an alternative way of opening the traps without a key that would be helpful!

Had 2 of these traps down for over 3 weeks and not caught anything! The bait didnt work so swopped for peanut butter and still not caught anything. Disappointed as the concept is really good

Whatever the other reviews say, do not buy this to catch any rats, not just large rats.At least note for yourselves the entrance size before buying this!!Much better and cheaper:Stick a bucket on its side and put a standard rat trap inside, several caught while nothing with this item before that, or since.Also note how the bait is more visible and how its smell spreads better that way.

These traps are well made, easy to use and work well. In this kit you receive 2 traps, 2 containment boxes and a 30g tube of bait. The bait is an attractant and not a poison. It works very well and the mice seem to love it, although I’ve had less success with rats when using this bait. The bait works as well as the peanut butter that I usually use, but having the syringe makes application in the traps very quick and easy.The traps are easy to set and I like the red zip-tie which allows a quick visual reference to see if the trap had been triggered without having to disturb it. I much prefer these traps to the old traditional type as they are much safer to set and are less inclined to trigger when being positioned.The traps are effective in use and I like the fact that they are easy to dismantle for cleaning.I don’t much care for the little red key which is used to open the box and the storage slot on the side of the box, which happens to be inverted and this can allow the key to fall out and get lost. Other than that, these are great traps and I’m happy to recommend them.
