Excellent quality, easy to install, looks amusing, works perfectly
This is made of excellent wood, and has all the hardware and templates you need to install it. All you need to do is remove the door, put it on a flat surface (a couiple of saw horses?), use the templete to mark the hole, then cut out the hole with a saber saw. Apply the wooden frames, screw them to each other, put the little plugs in to cover up the countersunk screws (a nice design feature), and you have a finished job. Paint or stain it (if you want to - it looks good unfinished) and reinstall the door, Pop in the brush and you are good to go. Easy as (actually easier than, and quicker too) pie! This works fine with our fat cat (~20 lbs) and our skinny cat. The brush actually works too, and reduces the cat hair problem. Every week or two remove the brush and pull off the cat hair. It's a great way to allow our cats to get to their "etiquette center" without relying on an door open with the risk of it accidentally closing and us coming home to a feline surprise in the living room or kitchen! And my wife says "it just tickles me" when she looks at it.... If I could give it more than five stars I would.

Stops kitty-litter nugget-diving dog in his tracks.
This is a great product. We just moved into a new house, and in our old house I had cut a kitty door going into the basement - your standard "locking" plastic Home Depot piece of crap. It was ugly, the lock broke, the back frame fell off because it was just held on by adhesive, in short, it was awful.New house, new door - we needed something (not lockable this time) to keep the cat area dog-free, and after a bit of looking around online, I ordered the Cathole. Aside from having a very funny name, the Cathole was extremely easy to install, feels a lot more solid and better-designed than the plastic doors, and the brush is awesome. My cat mostly likes to chew on it, but I don't get the chance to brush him as often as I'd like, so letting the Cathole do it is pretty awesome. For anyone concerned about cat size, my cat is roughly 16 lbs and fits through easily. I'm certain that a bigger cat could use it as well. 35 pound dog? Stopped in his tracks. No more kitty litter nugget diving for him.

Great for furball controll.
This cat door was well worth the money. We purchased it late last year and installed it. Installation was very straightforward with the provided instructions. Over the winter we used it without the brush attachment and our 2 cats quickly got used to it.My Maine coon mix (12-14 pounds) with longish hair sheds constantly, particularly in the Spring. She was coughing up a 3 inch fur ball every other day. She does not like to be brushed, so I snapped the Cathole brush into its slot. Takes 2 seconds. The cats quickly got used to it and go through it often throughout the day and night. The reduction in hairball frequency has been astonishing. It has been almost 2 months since i put the brush in and she has coughed up only 2 fur balls since and they were less than half the size of the 3 inch ones. You do the math. I am not exaggerating. I pull a huge wad of fur off the brush every day. This is fur that she is not ingesting as she grooms. We are very happy for her now. The constant furballs had to be unpleasant for her (not to mention us having to pick them up and clean off the carpet where her fur and bile landed). We paid full price for this product. If the cost seems a little high, consider that it is made in the USA from quality materials. Customer service is excellent as well, as I emailed them about a minor issue and they were very quick to respond. For those of us who love our cats (and who doesn't), it is a small price to pay to keep them happy and healthy. Furball control is part of the deal.I do not review many products, but i am happy to take the time to review this one and give it 5 stars.

Good little cat access doors
This is a nice simple door for a cat or small dog. I needed something to allow my cat to go downstairs to use her litterbox and not leave the basement door open. I purchased two of these one for the door leading to my basement and another for the door to the unfinished portion of my basement where the litterbox is. Installation was pretty simple. They provide a template for the cutout and I just used a Skil saw to cut it out. Then you fasten the three screws to clamp it on the door. They provide little wood inserts to cover the screw holes. One of the inserts kept falling out so a just secured it in with a little wood glue.I opted not to use the included brushes as my cat is long haired and the brushes would be covered in hair in no time. Without the brushes installed the screws and cut out portion of the door are uncovered but you can't really see it so no big deal. I kind of wish they included a cover without the brush for those who choose not to install. The only issue I have is with my downstairs door panels there are small gaps between the cat door and recessed panel. It is only really noticeable when standing right up to it. I would not be happy if this was the case with my upstairs door, but not a big deal on the one downstairs. Be aware if your panels start less than 8 inched from the bottom of the door you will have this issue. See my pictures for and example of what I mean.Overall I am happy with these doors for the price. My cat started using it right away and I don't have to worry about leaving the door closed and the cat pooping in the house.
