Great product to use if you are an herbalist
Absolutely dried elderberries. I make elderberry syrup and elderberry tinctures and because it’s not something that’s readily available especially where I live. It was great. The size of the bag is phenomenal so you can make several different things out of it if you prefer or you can make one big recipe of one specific thing it appeared that all the berries were at peak ripeness. They smelled amazing. The size of the bag was great value for your money 100% taste phenomenal and their color was so beautiful. It was remarkable and you could tell that the berries were fresh not like it had been years. Especially like when I made my tinctures and my syrup. It was great. The taste was phenomenal 10 out of 10 would recommend and I will be buying this again when I need to do a restock.

MAKES WONDERFUL ELDERBERRY COLD SYRUP
I purchased this with the intention of making Elderberry syrup for colds and flu. I've made several batches and the cost savings have been outstanding. I can make it with spices my family likes. There were some lighter colored berries, but no other debris. I found the quality to be excellent quality and everyone is raving about this syrup. It really does fight off colds and flu. If you buy these to make your own Elderberry syrup. PLEASE make sure your process it properly! This is really important because you can get really sick from eating them dried or improperly processed. Do it right and you will have very high-quality Elderberry syrup. **UPDATE** I went to order more today 9/3/19 the packaging now says European, whereas before it read organic. I'm unsure if they are organic, for that reason I will not be purchasing from this company at this time.

Good, but labor intensive and a lot of brown berries
A friend gave me a bottle of elderberry tonic she made from fresh elderberries. I’m a skeptic, but I think this probably has helped me stay well this winter. When I was running out of tonic, I ordered these dried elderberries. The tonic takes four months to be ready, so I made syrup in my Instant Pot instead. I have now made two batches because it spoils after three weeks. This time I froze half of the 16oz. that 3/8 C of dried elderberries make. I am grateful to be able to buy these. They are expensive, but will make quite a few batches. The downside is that sorting these tiny, dried berries is challenging and there are a lot of brown berries that need to be discarded. You will need good eyes and good eye-hand coordination! On the second batch, I found a few things that help. Think butter spreader, spoon, and I might even try spreading them out on a plate and using tweezers next time. You also need to discard any stems or twigs, but there weren’t a lot of them. Cooking in IP very quick and easy. With right strainer and bowl, not hard to mash berries and strain out cinnamon stick and fresh ginger. Have clean mason or other jars ready and freeze what you can’t use in three weeks. Leave headroom in jar for freezer. I am only person taking mine and @ 1T/ day it will last maybe four weeks. If I am exposed to an infection or start to develop symptoms, I will take 3T a day.
