Bought this during the Prime Day sale. When the more expansive Roomba model’s price reverted I decided to buy a cheaper Roomba model and spend the difference (plus a little bit) on this. These new iRobot models are way better than their earlier generations. They’re ability to map your floors is great. You can then designate rooms and they can work only the rooms you specify. They’re smart enough to determine where they are even if they aren’t starting from the base station. This allows you to create maps for different floors even if you don’t have a base station there. Also, once mapped they clean far more systematically, efficiently, and much less random. I found this unit mapped a little more slowly and gently than the Roomba. The Braava can clean dry or wet. It determines how it’s going to work based on the pad you’ve inserted. Pads with blue tabs tell the unit to wet clean while pads with the white tabs tell it to clean dry. So when you see similar pads that are white and blue… that’s the difference. You can purchase disposal or reusable pads. The unit moves slowly when cleaning but that didn’t bother me. It did a great job on the hardwood floors. It did have trouble cleaning anything off the tiles that needed a little extra rubbing to get out. The unit is basically wiping the floor with the equivalent of a Swiffer pad. It applies some pressure but I can’t say it “scrubs”. It comes with two packages of solution. iRobot only recommends the “Bona” brand. You can buy bottles of concentrate designed for machine cleaners at local stores. I think the concern is to avoid cleaners that will cause foaming in the machine. I cleaned about 32 square meters (according to the app) and it used about half a container of solution in the unit. The container isn’t very big so I pleased that it doesn’t go crazy with the spray. From what I see it uses the solution to wet the pad by spraying and driving over the wet area. It will then mop a certain amount of area before spraying again. It doesn’t spray every spot it mops. Overall I love how this thing works. It doesn’t do a perfect clean like you can do by hand, but to keep the house tidy and clean day-to-day it’s awesome. We’ve combined it with a Roomba j6+ so do the vacuuming and dry cleaning. I use the Braava to follow up with a wet clean less frequently. In fact, the Roomba can even tell the Braava to start mopping as soon as the vacuuming is done. It’s definitely an expensive luxury but if you can get it on sale it’s really a handy device to take some of the cleaning off yours hands.

I thought I'd jump on the sale on Prime Day for this unit since I've owned the Braava 380T for several years and it was getting a little tired. I was hesitant to go with this unit at first as I've become so accustomed to the 380T's performance but it was time. Now that I've owned it for a week I thought I'd give a review seeing that it's now performing above my expectations. What I've found is that you MUST place the charging unit somewhere where it's going to stay before starting it's first dry mopping mapping run. I found this out the hard way as I changed the base's location afterwards and it was impossible to add new found rooms to my map! So on it's first initial run please try to put the charging base where you know you'll always have it. Don't worry to much in thinking it might be to far from a room your concentrating on cleaning cause the mop will travel great distances! Up to 1000 square feet they claim and I've found it is very accurate! Also if you think you will just use it to clean without using the iRobot App then you'll find yourself very limited in its functions as it does need the app to do most everything in setting boundaries, thresholds, no go zones etc. Some people have claimed that the mop won't go over thresholds, I did find mine was having an issue coming from a bedroom in where it would always freak out and spin circles when exiting its cleaning job a at the door jam threshold. Eventually it would give up and flash a red circle and that was it! I set a threshold to each doorway that has them and even placed a tiny no go zone to the right of the door jam where it freaks out and now it cleans perfectly and exits the room! The cleaning is pretty thorough also in that you can set the amount of liquid (I use just water) from Eco-Standard and Ultra each time it sprays! Same with the amount of overlapping each time it makes a pass on your floors, you change it from a little, more or a lot! What this does is ensures you get the right cleaning. This can be done anytime you use the app and select a room or rooms to clean in the app as you'll get the option to enable these then click on Start! When a job is large and it senses it will not finish before its battery exhausts it will return to the base and charge enough to resume and finish its task. After each wet mop job I always try to remember to remove the wet pad and wash it in the sink with a little dish detergent and let it dry otherwise the pad will develop an unpleasant odor! I've not used any detergents in my mop to date and same with my previous Braava I've always just used water to clean my vinyl floors! Overall I'm 100 percent happy with the M6!

I was excited about getting the Braava and pairing it with my Roomba S9+. However, the Braava would not cross a threshold that runs between my kitchen and living/dining room. My Roomba has no problem crossing it the Braava simply could not. I tried several times and watched make numerous attempts. Eventually, it would give up and either return to home or stop and report an error message. I tried setting up threshold barriers in the map using the app and it made no difference. To be fair, the threshold is substantial. It looks kind of like a flat-top A-frame; at the center flat point, it is about 1/2" above tile floor and 1" above wood floor. No matter which side Braava was on, it still could not cross it. I even tried putting a 1/8" rubber mat next to the transition but Braava would not go on the mat, probably because it it thought it was a rug. I thought about getting a little rubber ramp but those are not exactly cheap or aesthetically pleasing. This issue was a near-deal breaker for me because the threshold spans about 1/3 of my house (open floor plan, 1 level, 1850 square feet, all hard surfaces/no carpet, 1 rug). I planned to keep the Braava, despite the threshold issue (I was going to manually place it) but then I encountered multiple failures on a couple of runs not involving thresholds. I use the iRobot app and imported the map developed so, in theory, it should have been ready to run normally once I set it up in the app. Instead, I encountered multiple failures. For example, I had our Roomba scheduled to vacuum our bedrooms then followed by Braava. Roomba completed its run with no issues, as usual, but not long after, Braava reported error that it couldn't complete its run. The app showed it had mopped a portion of the kitchen, which is where I found it. For reference, we usually pick stuff up, unplug cords that might get tangled, and move things out of the way before Roomba does its run. Basically, there isn't much more we can do to set Braava up for success. I did manage to get one successful run out of it and it performed how I had hoped it would. It ran in a consistent pattern and provided even coverage. I did a deep clean on the floors a few days prior so the pad was only mildly dirty. If I got this kind of consistent performance out of Braava, I would have been very happy. I wanted it to work, especially since I could coordinate it with my Roomba and there are no other good dedicated mop robots currently available. It's just nowhere near as intuitive and refined as the Roomba, and that's only saying so much. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because I could see it working ok for someone who has a small amount of hard surface they're looking to cover (e.g., apartment kitchen and bathroom) and doesn't mind placing it where they want it to run occasionally/frequently. As someone who was wanting to cover approximately 1800 square feet of hardwood and tiled surfaces spread across 3-5 days with moderate-to-minimal attention, it does not appear to be suitable for that kind of job. Very disappointing.

I've had countless issues with connectivity on both my roomba and this mop... In less than a month the mop started having issues spraying water - I've tried all sorts of troubleshooting advices I could find and none solved the issue. Complete waste of money, time and patience. I'll 100% never buy any iRobot product again --- Edit: Contacted iRobot customer service and despite the wait, I was very well helped, they asked a few questions and asked for some evidences (receipt and video of the malfunctioning unit) and to my surprise, very promptly answered they would replace it. The new mop is working fine so far. While the experience was more frustrating than anything else so far, I'm editing the original review so it reflects the great customer support I had.

I know, my title may seem over the top, but this truly is one of the greatest inventions of all time. Is it as good as a human/flawless? Of course not, but having a robot that I can program to sweep/mop my floors every single day is automatically doing a better job than me. Could I sweep/mop every day? Sure, I could do anything, that doesn’t mean I will. I LOVE the feeling of immaculately clean floors on bare feet, now this reality is mine, and the work I have to do to have this is minutes a day. What I learned with my robot: -You MUST do several map runs, ***several*** to get accuracy. Your robot will appear drunk during these runs, this is normal. Embrace the learning curve of accurate mapping, it’s worth the effort. -Like my cats, I couldn’t help but obsessively watch my robot. You will eventually learn to trust it, and run it when you aren’t keeping an eye on it. It’s not super loud like a vacuum, but it still makes some noise. -It does have some limitations, I love my robot so much I got two that I run at the same time to overcome those limitations. Thresholds aren’t your robot’s best friend, but if you map them in, they are easier to cross. I’ve found I can wet mop my living room on the eco water setting, which is about 650 sq feet, but that’s the tanks capacity before docking. What I decided was to have one robot in the living room, and one in my kitchen that I run everyday at the same time, this way, I can clean my whole main living area in an hour. -The benefits far, far outweigh the limitations, which like I said, can be resolved by having more than one robot if needed. -This robot really does hug corners, and furniture really, really well. The only places I have as no-go zones are places like my computer chair. It’s much easier for me to clean this area manually once a week. All in all, I LOVE my robot! Can’t live without it!
