Both tough and lightweight
* PhysicalWe all need to carry stuff around, such as keys, mobile and wallet. I had a previous satchel and yet its physically tough and heavy construction did not stand up to this daily battering, so what would this lightweight bag be like? So I was initially hesitant at its apparently lightweight construction. When you first see this messenger bag you may guess that its flimsy, but it's not. This messenger style bag features a lightweight and yet quite strong and densely woven fabric. The bag is available in whatever colour attracts you to it.The nice thing is that the bag has several zipped pouches that stop its contents from spilling out when the bag becomes inverted. If you carry lots of change, the zipping feature is a real bonus. The fabric really stands up well to daily wear. Also, the band that hangs around my upper body is comfortable as its wide to spread the weight it supports. Also, it's adjustable to suit your height/build.* SummaryIts a practical, lightweight messenger - style bag that's worth the cost and has an excellent day - to - day robust performance. The many colours and styles also please the potential buyer.* UpdateI have ordered the same again on 22 May 2018. So its lasted since Nov 2013 with daily usage.Needed to buy another (Oct 2018) as the bag became trapped in a chair as I sat up and the force of my standing damaged the clasp. So they are not quite as indestructible as I thought.

Fantastic quality, amazing price
I had an Eastpack backpack, but needed something more suitable for work as I am spend my days going from meeting to meeting.I looked at Ally Capellino, Herschel and more, and was ultimately swayed by Eastpak's 30-year guarantee and the price of this messenger bag.The bag is without question fantastic. The colour stands out (in a good way), the space in the bag is tardis-like and it is very comfortable to carry, which is a good thing given the length of my commute (1.5 hours). It also has nifty pockets behind and in front of the bag, which is great for stuffing in easy-to-access stuff like keys, train pass, chewing gum (etc). The ONLY problem is the shoulder padding doesn't sit that well on my shoulder when I wear it on my back. It just sits on my chest rather than my shoulder but that might have something to do with my height.Either way, I am chuffed to bits with it. Go Eastpak

good quality, terrible design
The quality is fine, its got a 30yr warrantee after all.but the ergonomics are terrible, the pad on the shoulder strap is stiff as a board and only bends to the shape of your shoulder when it's carrying a descent weight.the bad it'self is floppy and doesn't hold its shape at all, it may be ok with a laptop or pad in it, but anything not flat just causes it to press uncomfortably against your leg.I will not be getting another one of these, and i'd not recommend it for anything other than a laptop bag, carrying notepads (the paper kind) may be ok, as long as you don't mind them being bent, as there is no shape to the bag at all.Update: July 2019so i've been using it daily for 4 1/2 years now, the downsides are still there, it's floppy and can ride on your leg, i find the strap can ride up on my shoulder a bit, but that may be more down to my rotund belly than the bag lolQuality wise, nothing has gone wrong, all the zips are perfect, even the little tassels are still fine, absolutely zero faults, and it's not had an easy life, shoved, dropped, soaked, kicked, scraped, dragged, and at one point carried a small child that wanted to know how the bag always had a treat hidden inside lolthe expander for the main section has been useful a few times, however like the back of the sofa, the fold at the bottom of the bag it creates when closed catches coppers and other bits and bobs.So despite its failings, its sterling service i think warrants a move from 3 to 4 stars.

Still as good as new one year later
I purchased two of these bags a year ago and have been so pleased that I wanted to post a review now. One has been in constant use by a sixth form student, the other by a university student. Both bags still look in 'as new' condition. They are spacious and water resistant; one was caught in a heavy shower recently and the contents remained dry. I can really recommend the quality of these bags and my teenagers like the design and practicality.

extremely functional and comfortable. This bag has seen much more action than ...
Quality. Forget your ruck sack for days out, this is so much easier to wear and access. Eastpak looks classy and is extremely well made. plenty of space, compartments, extremely functional and comfortable. This bag has seen much more action than any of my rucksacks did, before I had this I just stuffed things in the Mrs handbag now this has become our one bag for park trips, beach trips, disneyland trips etc. Get one!

Wonderful bag.
I use it everyday for work. Massive amounts of storage in it, can keep all of my books & lunch etc in it for commuting to work. Great price for such a prestigious brand. Comfy on the shoulder, nice front pockets, can hold medium sized books in them. Zip that goes around the bottom to increase the load of the bag is ingenious also. Great buy would recommend to anyone.
