Superb piece of kit - fast, easy to set up, full of features.
Bought this router after my previous one that’d lasted for a fair few years, decided to conk out. What I’ve bought with this one is actually a superior replacement. Fully featured and fast to set up, it’s been a good experience. It didn’t take long to get to the same stage as my previous setup - a mix of wired and wireless connections. I was also looking for a router that enabled me to put alternative firmware on it. It’s possible to put OpenWRT on it, but to be fair the GUI is that good and fully functional, I’ve just not bothered. Signal quality and connection overall has been sound. Overall, a great router, and given its price, superb value for money.

Excellent WiFi 6E router, strong signal, powerful and economical
Excellent router, easy to set up, strong WiFi signal throughout a large 4 bed home. I do need another one to make a mesh network as signal is so good from this single one. Getting near max speeds on WiFi throughout the home! Great upgrade from a tplink ac1200 WiFi mesh network. Did not use openwrt but this is capable of installing the firmware onto it. The existing firmware is reliable and have no issues so no need to flash openwrt unless you really need extra features. Definitely recommend to all who want strong WiFi connection throughout their home!

Value for money
Some time ago my broadband was upgraded toTalktalk's fast fibre. My 6 year old RT-AX92U could not connect directly and I was forced to use the router (poor description but that's what they call it) supplied by the ISP. I double natted this to my existing router so that I could have basic router functionality - beyond just connecting to the internet, and continue to use my 3 device mesh. I was happy with the performance of my system but decided to get rid of some of the minor annoyances, the most significant being the lack of support for split tunnel VPN by policy. Most high end consumer routers do not offer this out of the box and I have no need for gaming level performance, flashing LEDs or a device a comparable size to a desktop fridge. So at the price I bought 3 of these as a "no regrets" trial. I always planned to Install OpenWRT and this was fairly painless. Its a 2 step flashing process and initially I struggled to find the correct image to use. So I posted a message on Cudy's website late at night and was pleasantly surprised to find the correct image in my inbox when I woke up. Kudos for support. After flashing I plugged it into my ONT and as if by magic I had a full speed, stable connnection with zero config required. Perhaps this will work after all. After setting up my routing needs (complete with isolated VLANs for IOT devices and guests) I flashed the other 2 boxes and set up the mesh. Caution this does require a little bit of technical stuff - once you install OpenWRT you don't get the fancy wizards that will just auto configure everything for you, but its not rocket science. Now I have a stable network with comparable performance to my old system that does everything I want and more. If you are after pure performance in a mesh system you should be aware that this device only has 2 radios and 1Gb ethernet ports. But if you are a gamer I guess you won't be looking at sub £30 routers - or using a wireless backhaul. Its probably worth mentioning that I could not maintain a stable mesh using 160 Mhz for the backhaul but at 80 its just fine for office work, video conferencing, browsing and streaming anywhere in the house or garden. All at a fraction of the price of the big brand equivalents.

Good value router, works great
Decent quality router for a value price. Easy set up in a few minutes, connect to the router enter it's IP, create admin password and then config as you want with standard GUI, or just connect to a modem, select router, enter supplied password and away you go. I renamed mine to have the same SSID as my current router (and same password), this makes for easy connection of IOT devices should one router fail - TCP smart electric radiators are a real pain to connect to a new router router but using this method the devices are none the wiser. Only minor gripe is the power lead isn't very long, but then again no shorter than any other router I've had.

Simple, fast and light.
I rarely give a 5 star review, because it takes a lot to earn it, but these are good, they feel light and cheap but they do what they are designed to do, WiFi 6 is great and working either as APs or MESH mode they seem to handle everything thrown at it, the only down side I have found is you can't reset the local admin password even if they are bound to a cudy account, this is a little bit of an oversight and needed me to reset both of them to sort out.

Great broadband router
Much better WiFi signal than the router supplied by my broadband provider and at a great price. User interface is nice and clear.

Steer clear of this rubbish
These a very poor, brought 4 so I could mesh them all together and they aren't too far away from each other but they perform well below expectation. Connection is slow, and I mean really slow, never had a router slow my fibre down that much and drops out a lot. Steer well clear, I would return them all but I'm using them as a hub at the moment. If you looking to extend your WiFi, buy something else and save on the disappointment

Me parece buena compra.

I think this is one of the best budget wifi6 routers on the market. Signal penetration is great for my use-case and setup is very straightforward. The Cudy UI is surprisingly clean and intuitive. You can also flash OpenWrt directly if that's what you'd rather work with for more control, but the included firmware is great with loads of standard OpenWrt features (IP + mac address filtering + scheduled restarts, easy VPN setup with numerous supported protocols etc.). The UI also has standard diagnostics which is a nice feature -- and direct logs. Even if you don't care about these features, it's very easy to optimize and setup for basic routing. I've not used the Cudy app on a mobile device for this -- but I don't really see a need to (for my setup at least).

Great value. Hard to find much fault with this device. It performs as expected. It's small and mountable. The signal covers a 3000 sq ft home. The included software is easily configured for a newbie as a router, AP or even client, but does not have much more detailed options you may find in more expensive routers. However it is also capable of running the latest OpenWRT if you want to geek out and unlock a wealth of new options, like VLANs. While you can brick it with flashing 3rd party firmware, you can also bring it back to life with Cudy's TFTP utility.
