Great laser level
Great product and simple to use. The price was right so I bought one and I am glad I did! Great build quality, and works as it should. I will probably at some point buy a larger tripod as this one is super limited because it is so small - but for the price, you can't really expect more.

I was skeptical....but
I sold my higher end laser level and instantly regretted it! I didn't want to spend another 150 bucks to replace and found this one with a tripod included. For this amazing price point, it is incredible. I use this for a lot of things...painting and taping off lines. Hanging pictures and shelves. Also for building. It is pretty easy to use and straightforward. The laser is bright and easy to see. I have not used it outside, but during a bright day inside...no complaints. It is super compact and stores in my tool box. The tripod is compact as well and retracts down to a size slightly larger than my hand. Though, the tripod is not big enough to use for most applications. Though the tripod connector is the stand one, so I ordered another tripod, which made this so much easier to use. I like that I can freeze the line after it levels and that it has cross levels. I would purchase again and recommend. Just buy another tripod.

Great level for household use
We just moved in to a new home and I bought this level to hang a bunch of pictures. It worked great. It is very easy to setup and use. Very bright line. And when I check it with a 4 ft. level it is accurate (at least accurate enough for me and hanging pictures). A couple things. One you can not tilt the unit to move the line up and down. I f you want to place the line 8 ft off the ground the unit will need to be placed on something 8 ft off the ground. It worked great with my camera tripod. Second, the line shakes with every vibration in the room. I learned just how much my new floors bounce, but once I stood still and was ready to hang the picture it projected a nice steady reference line. I read a lot of reviews before buying this one, and to me most of the negative reviews were people expecting the performance of a higher end product, or people that received a dud. Neither were true in my case. Again, for me for home use and DIY use it works great.

Good tool at a good price; how to verify calibration
I used the horizontal plane of this laser level to determine where to add soil to adjust a yard area to a uniform very slight slope. I used a makeshift stadia rod made from a tape measure clipped to a scrap aluminum extrusion. Even in bright sun, I could see the green line on the stadia rod up to 25 feet from the laser by casting a shadow on the rod with my hand or the clipboard I was plotting elevations on. As another reviewer said, it helped to know roughly where the line would be, and by 25 feet from the laser it was very faint, but still just visible enough to read once I found it. Later in the day, as the sunlight faded, the laser was bright enough to see easily over much longer distances. Unlike another reviewer, I received my level in the "locked" position, as it should be, so I was not too worried about its calibration. Just to be sure, I tested its calibration immediately indoors and found its error too small to detect at all (that is, within the 2-3 mm width of the laser line) at 40 feet, which I figured was plenty good enough for leveling dirt... so good that I probably got lucky with this particular unit. Here is how I tested: Set the level up on a tripod next to one indoor wall. Mark the horizontal line on the near wall; turn the level and mark the opposite wall. Move the tripod to next to the opposite wall and adjust the height until the line matches the level marked there. Then rotate the level and compare the laser line on the first wall to the original mark on it. The difference is the total error over the round-trip distance from the first setup point, to the second, and back. So if you see a 1/8" difference with the two tripod setups 20 feet apart, the error is actually about 1/8" in 40 feet. I could not detect enough error to measure it.) I used four old 1900 mAh rechargeable AA batteries, turning the laser on only periodically when needed for measuring or for short periods of work with frequent checking. After two days of work and two nights of leaving the batteries in the unit overnight (turned off, of course), the batteries are roughly half discharged. If I had to leave the laser on continuously for a job, I would bring a second set of batteries and charge them while I used the first, just to be sure. But if you use the laser to lay out pencil marks or take elevations periodically, turning it off at other times, then battery use does not seem to be a problem. This level comes with a small stand-up scale for leveling floors or other surfaces that you set the level on directly. This is a essentially a very short, self-supported stadia rod with a zero mark at the height of the horizontal laser above the unit's feet. The level also comes with a magnetic bracket so you can easily mount the laser to ferrous surfaces. I found the magnets more than sufficient to securely support the laser on the door or sides of my refrigerator. The included soft, slightly padded case holds the laser and both accessories with moderate protection. You could even jam in an extra set of batteries. As some other reviewers note, the manual is very brief, but this tool is pretty simple and does not require anything more. The manual does not explain the floor-leveling scale or the magnetic bracket, but if you can't figure them out, you probably don't need them. One can pay a lot more for this kind of tool, but unless you really need longer range in bright sunlight or want to be able to calibrate it yourself, this one will do the same job.

Super Handy!
Awesome product! Worked perfectly out of the box. Major time saver, and makes my work more accurate.

Amazingly bright, and easy to use
Easy to use; I barely had to glance at the directions. I had waffled between getting a green or a (cheaper) red laser. The pics attached to reviews of this and other products didn’t show much of a difference, but then I checked Y**T*be comparison videos; the red lines were faint, but the green lines were visible. So I went with green and am not disappointed. The laser lines are amazingly bright and easy to see. When I held the level up in my hand and turned it on for the first time, in unlocked mode, the lines were blinking constantly. I thought I was holding it “level”, but I must have been over the 4° tolerance, because as soon as I held the level up against a wall the lines turned solid. So a positive, though unintentional, test of that feature. When locked, the lines can be rotated to you can hang pictures going up a stairwell (I may finally get those hung, yeah!) The magnetic accessory also works as advertised. I will be hanging a curtain rod, so I need to position the level on the opposing wall. The magnetic accessory and level attach, and hold, to the wall’s corner bracket solidly - no slide down. And since I may need to move the level off the corner bracket to get the correct vertical line (to help me visualize curtain stack back), I tried attaching a stainless steel ruler to the wall with blue painter’s tape. The laser and magnetic accessory attached, and with enough tape the ruler stays in place. (I hear some people use Command strips for picture hanging on the laser and the wall, but I already have S/S rulers and the masking tape.) I haven’t verified the laser level line vs a old-style 3-bubble level yet, but I don’t anticipate any issues given the quality of the product. Very happy with this purchase.

Does not self level
The LED seems very bright (indoor with dim lighting). It didn't turn on per the instructions and the unit doesn't self level, so what's the point? I bought it because of the high reviews, the price and the green laser which is easier to see than the red. Read the manual and it clearly says for self leveling to put it on a level surface. So how is that self leveling?

Excellent laser for the price.
Works very well! Tested against a cheaper Motovera that was half the price and it's very very similar in performance. The Huepar has a slightly different construction with an angled front, coated glass, and more robust looking lasers/construction inside. This Motovera felt a little cheaper in construction, the laser unit inside was much smaller and plastic (Huepar laser body inside appears to be metal). The laser lines are accurate, crisp, and level/plumb. With the angled front glass, the laser lines of the Huepar are much longer vertically than the Motovera. Laser line brightness was identical to the Motovera. Easily visible inside under any lighting conditions. Visible outside in late afternoon shade (full sun out still), but only for about 15-20 feet away. I really like that you can look the pendulum to put the lines off-axis. Shockingly, none of the vastly more expensive laser levels from Bosch or Dewalt offer this basic feature. I ended up keeping the more expensive Huepar simply because the build quality felt better and perhaps will last longer than the Motovera. The Huepar also uses 4 batteries instead of 2 with the Motovera, so it should last twice as long before battery changes (even though it's the same quantity of batteries overall, less hassle in changing frequency).
