Great alternative to original charger.
Can't beat the price on this AC/charger unit for my camcorder. Works like a charm and didn't have to pay an arm or a leg for the price of the original charger for this camcorder. I highly recommend this brand as it works like the original.

Needed an Extra for Office/Studio
Camera came with one, but I wanted an Extra for my Office Studio to plug my Camera in when I'm doing things like reviewing takes or charging the onboard battery. The other one stays in the Camera Gear Bag for taking it on the road.

Great Charger.
A great charger for Sony camcorders. I bought this for a camcorder I plan on using for skate videos and it worked great. Good packaging and quick delivery time.

AC adapter function works, but the adapter won't charge the camera battery
I bought this item as a replacement for a lost adapter. While it does power my FDR-AX53 camera, it will not charge an attached battery at all - even when left connected to the camera overnight. The charging indicator on the camera lights briefly when the adapter is connected, but goes out a few seconds later. I returned it and bought the OEM Sony adapter, which charges my battery beautifully.

This is a fantastic replacement charger/power block for your Handicam. A bit smaller than the original, making it much nicer to pack in your case.
