Highly recommend
Bought this for my 7 year old grandson. Was a little nervous as couldn’t find many reviews, and have found some Lego dupes inferior quality, but need not have worried. Great quality product and packaging. Really easy to use the control ap. even for grandma :) Mist importantly grandson loved it and is working his way through different models which all have something a bit different to keep it fresh.

Fun kit for creative kids with some minor flaws !!
This kit consists of LEGO-style bricks and a Bluetooth controller box that requires 3 AA batteries. The controller box contains 2 motors, an infrared sensor, and a color sensor. The best feature of this kit is its compatibility with other LEGO bricks, allowing limitless possibilities for building. I ordered this set for my 9-year-old child. He had an absolute blast constructing a batmobile-style RC car, following the instructions provided in the booklet included in the box. He was able to program a simple code to make it move a certain distance, turn back, and return to its original position. In addition to the RC car, he also built the crane. However, he struggled to build it entirely on his own and required some assistance. The instructions were not very clear. For example, the instructions for the crane indicated to simply loop the cord in one pulley, which was confusing for a child as a looped cord would not hold. I had to instruct him to tie a knot instead. Moreover, the instructions and coding tutorials do not explain how to use the infrared sensor or the color sensor properly. The code contains conditional statements like "If Infrared sensor(1-7) == x", where x can be any number between 1 to 7. However, the instructions do not clarify what each number from 1 to 7 represents. Similarly, for the color sensor, the conditional statement is "if color sensor(1-3)", but there is no explanation in the introductory course on the code about which color corresponds to each number or even that each number represents a color. Furthermore, regarding the infrared sensor, I believe the number represents how many times you block the sensor with your waving hand in quick succession. However, I will need to verify this further to be certain. The instructions for the crane were also in a confusing order, making it more challenging to build. Parts that were assembled earlier were not reinforced, resulting in potential breakages when returning to reinforce those sections later. This kit would have been perfect if the instructions were clearer and explanations were provided more thoroughly. Additionally, the sensors were connected to the controller module with fixed wires, which tended to hang and stretch out while my child was building the projects. I am doubtful about how long these wires can hold up under frequent use. It would have been much better if these wires were modular, allowing for easier management and reducing the risk of wear and tear. I am eager for my child to build the other 8 models that this kit offers, along with many more creations by combining it with our LEGO set. Overall, I would definitely recommend this kit, with the hope that they refine the instructions and provide better explanations for future users.

Great robots for 7 & up.
I used these with 60 7-12 year Olds for 11 weeks of summer camp. They loved them. Many of the builds take over an hour. Be careful with the sensor wires, they are fragile.

Teaches how things work
I gave it to my 9 year old grandson for his birthday. He loved it and spent quite a few hours putting together his first "creation". He's looking forward to taking it apart and making something different. It's a good starting STEM toy for a little budding engineer.

Great kit for the price, works with original Legos
We picked this up for our kids a while back. We've been looking for a Lego-style kit that allows for some basic robotics. In short, this kit is awesome. Rather than go over every little item listed as I'm sure other reviewers have already done, let me give you the highlights of why I feel this kit is great. First, it works with original Legos. Have an idea outside of the instructions you want to try? Feel free to add pieces to make your own design from your Lego collection. Second, it comes with an app that is very helpful. The book that comes with the kit only starts you off on one of a number of potential builds, However, download the app and it not only provides the other instructions, it walks you through each of them step by step. In my opinion, its well done and very helpful. Third, while challenging, each project is not above the head of an 8 year old kid. I have a 2nd grader that loves to build things on his own. This kit is no exception. While he did struggle once or twice when mistaking two similar gears, he was able to eventually solve the issue and build the project with almost no assistance from me. Fourth, this kit is of much higher quality than many entry level "robotics" kits available. The pieces are solid, the app was useful, and the motors and sensors worked as they should. In other words, this kit is great. While a little more expensive than some kits, it is easily worth the money and then some. I would strongly encourage you to take a look and decide for yourself.

The item worked extremely well and my grandson enjoyed build and playing with it. But sadly there were no instructions for the other 19 robots the product claimed you could make 😫

Yes it's good but having trouble getting it to work a 6 year old can not make it on his own

As soon as my 6-year-old nephew opened his gift, he got excited, and he loved it. Very durable - it is a great product.
