Great little projector – bright, compact and perfect for movie nights
The picture is surprisingly bright. Even in a well-lit room it’s watchable, but it really shines in a dark space where the image becomes vivid and punchy. There is a bit of laser speckle on the image. You’ll notice it if you go looking for it, but once you’re watching a film it’s easy to forget it’s there. Colours are very saturated, especially reds. You can tweak the settings to tone it down, but the options are limited so it’s never quite perfect. The projector runs nice and cool and the fan is very quiet — once you start watching you barely hear it. This is the third projector I’ve owned for home movie nights and honestly, it’s the best so far. A few downsides: the built-in Android system doesn’t have all the usual apps, so I’d recommend using a streaming stick like a Fire Stick or Roku. The built-in sound is fine for YouTube or quick clips, but not great for movies. There’s no AUX port, so a Bluetooth speaker is the way to go. It’s also really compact, which makes it great for travel or camping. Easy to pack and perfect for entertainment on the go. I've added an image which has been slightly altered by my phone. It doesn't really do the image justice.

Decent box with fast refresh rate.
No apps, android or Google TV but fast refresh rate and you can use a fire stick or telly box. Colours are ok and HDR is decent. Using mine with a fire stick to good effect. What else can I say? It's meant for an Xbox or playstation really.

For £550? Excellent. Watch Dune 2 and be mesmerised.
Thoroughly recommend this to all but the most pedantic cinephiles. But let's get the kinda-bad out the way; THE MEH: • It's only got one HDMI port. Would have been good to get an additional one a different side of the unit. Also, there isn't' a 3.5mm audio jack. BUT, the speaker is very loud and the Bluetooth is excellent. • It runs android but there's no play store support. BUT you can install android apps, including Netflix, Plex and Prime, as APKs from a USB stick. The projector doesn't support google play services, so you cant install Google-owned apps like YouTube/Play Store/Gmail. Make sure you've got the clock set to automatic as otherwise some apks won't install. • It supports 3D movies and they look gorgeous. But there is zero included instructions and customer support didn't realise it was 3D enabled. If you want it to work with a PC rather than spanking out for a blu-ray player.. On your computer install MPC home cinema, install the MAD-VR plugin, obtain a 3D movie, and get some DLP glasses. If the 3d setting is greyed out, set the projector to 1080p 120HZ in your PC display settings. • If your PC is going to be placed away from the projector (mine is ~3m) buy a decent quality 4k HDMI cable. Cheap cables do work but may intermittently lose signal for a second every few hours. THE GOOD • It's tiny, the fact a 4k short throw projector can be a dinky 30cm cube is a game changer. • Massive, bright, crisp image and deeper blacks than other entry level 4k projectors • Great speakers and great Bluetooth • The TV remote android app works great, the best smart phone controller I've ever used. Similar to the brilliant Unified Controller app for windows but less cluttered) • Also supports wireless keyboards, just stick the keyboard dongle into one of the USB slots. • Has lots of features I didn't know I needed from previous cheap projectors which make lense correction painless. A few reviews have complained about it not saving when you turn it off... It takes less than 30 seconds to correct each time you turn it on, perfectly acceptable. • An absolute steal for the £550 price, it's closest competitor as of writing is £1300, isn't short throw, and is twice as big.

Stuck Pixels and Noisy Projector
This was going to be my second P1000 as my first is superb. Projector arrived today and it's faulty out of the box. It's noisy, pixels were sticking and it was gradually getting worse looking like a Star Trek star field. I did a firmware update and a few restarts but no joy. Contact with Nomvdic is non existent so It will be returned tomorrow. Amazon have been great and have promised I can have a replacement for the price I paid (the price has now increased again). One thing I have noticed is my first unit was dated 2024 and this latest is dated 2023 so Nomvdic could be clearing old stock.

Could have been bettet
My place is too small for a TV, so I tried cheap projectors, but they all sucked. Amazon reviews finally convinced me to buy this one (way over budget!). Pros: Looks good, decent speakers, light and portable, and it's actually 4K. Cons: White spot in the corner – annoying during dark scenes. Only one HDMI, no audio out (Bluetooth is laggy), and my USB-C port died last week. Picture quality isn't great – claims 2500 lumens, but more like 1600. Colors are oversaturated, especially reds, and banding is bad. HDR is useless; reds turn orange-yellow, colors wash out, and shadow detail is lost. No built-in OS, so you need a streaming device. One good thing: it's a space heater in winter.

Great projector for a great price. 4k resolution with great contrast when engaging the eotf of mid with black leveling. Way better than the Auzen Boom 3 that I'm replacing. Only disappointment is the lack of more than 1 hdmi port and no e-arc. Solved with a $30 audio splitter.

Unique design, very compact. Surprisingly bright considering how small this unit is. Really enjoying how accurate the colours are. I'm using movie setting and reducing saturation to 40. Auto focus feature works really well.
