I have always been impressed with the Camcamp products. Whenever I need a camera for security or I’m helping out another friend hook up cameras, I go to Camcamp. This time we went with the 5MP Wireless Security Camera System. As usual the setup was straightforward right out of the box. The cameras paired easily with the monitor, and I had everything running within an hour. The video quality is crisp during the day, and what I also like is night vision is clear with good color detail. I also like that the system has a 10x zoom and motion detection that actually works without too many false alerts. I like having options like the expandable hard drive. I prefer storing footage locally rather than paying for cloud storage. Another big one for me is the wireless signal has been reliable for me, which has been an issue with some other makers that I’ve used in the past. In general this can be tricking depending not only distance but on material it’s passing through. Overall, this system offers a lot for the price and I think they are building a solid brand that gives me peace of mind both with my data being safe as well as knowing my home is covered indoors and outdoors without a complicated setup or monthly fees.

Got this to replace my old wired system but i didnt expect this tiny main unit capable of controlling more cameras than my old one This system has amazing night view capabilities i believe they can almost see 200 feet which is mind blowing considering i have no street lights at all in my neighborhood. setup was super easy had it going in 5 minutes following the guided setup all 8 cameras were already added so they connected as soon as i turned them on. works on wifi as well as wired ethernet so I was able to put the main unit in a very inconspicuous location connect via wifi. the app was quick to set up just a simple email verification and password creation and boom remote viewing without any subscription all in all super impressed with the value of the whole system and its crazy to think that something that fits in the palm of my hand can control 10 seperate cameras all while broadcasting it for remote viewing including pan tilt and zoom functions with 2 way audio. has the hard drive preinstalled and comes with a wired mouse but can also work with a USB wireless mouse. the motion detection function is pretty cool will follow whatever moves within the camera view just make sure you go into the camera from the main unit and turn on that function and set the speed you want the camera to move at 1 being the slowest and 10 being the fastest super intuitive the audio sensitivity is pretty high so it will pick up any sound within your yard also has a sentry function just like in the movies it will move in a dedicated pattern to scout within its range of motion also has a smart night view mode which switches between infared and color night vision mode and one thing i didnt expect is the cameras each have 2 sets of led one that is infared and one that is bright white so they could potentially function as emergency lighting in a blackout once they are connected to a battery backup just make certain you have smart night mode enabled. all 8 cameras together only pull a total of 43-53 watts depending on if the cameras are in night mode with the infared leds are on so about 6-8 watts each which is quite impressive. In addition to the internal hard drive there is a SD memory slot in the back of the unit for saving and removing footage should you need it for any reason. Take your time and configure the system to your needs the menus are easy to follow but also allow for more advanced settings if you need them.
