Update: Even Happier with these garlic bulbs!
NEW REVIEW FOR 2023: This is our 2nd year ordering these garlic bulbs. This year, the bulbs we received are even more beautiful! They are large, white bulbs, with not a speck of mildew. We were so happy with last year's harvest that we are planting 3x the amount this year. Worth noting, last winter (our first year of planting these bulbs) was one of the coldest winters on record here in zone 7B. When the freezing temps arrived, we covered our garlic row with frost cloth and every plant made it. It was a very harsh winter for this region with temps in the low teens. After harvesting, we dried and cured, then ran it through the food processor then froze in air-tight bags. This made it handy for cooking since it was already chopped. HERE IS MY ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM LAST YEAR: We wanted to add garlic to our winter garden (zone 7B). Planted two rows of these garlic bulbs a few weeks before the first frost. All emerged. We only planted the ones that looked prime and used the rejects for cooking but had plenty to fill the bed. First photo was taken last fall, shortly after planting. Second photo was taken this spring, after harvesting. These guys all survived a very unseasonably cold winter in North Carolina with lows in the teens. We did harvest them a bit earlier than planned due to a deluge of rain in the spring. We have heavy clay soil so rot is always a threat when it rains for too many consecutive days. Even though we had to harvest early, still pleased with the results and will be planting them again this fall.

Huge bulbs with 10 - 13 segments in each one!
These GARLIC BULB (20 Pack), FRESH CALIFORNIA SOFTNECK packages, are totally excellent and hey, 20 x 10 -13 segments are a massive amount of growth potential and easy to separate. I ordered 2 of these 20 bulb packs and am extremely happy with my purchase with the big volume coming from these huge bulbs. I have separated and planted all but two of the bulbs and there was no rotting or discoloring at all in any segments- this is a good company to do business with! Saving two for eating in various dishes was a great idea- this garlic tastes good, and I am looking forward to future harvesting. Great find!

large bulbs
These garlic bulbs arrived in good condition and were all pretty large bulbs overall. I am planting in a raised bed for harvest next June. I have rated them 4 stars because of their condition and size. I have not yet seen nor can attest to their viability yet until I harvest the bulbs next summer. Hopefully they will grow robust and provide me a good garlic crop for next year. I plant garlic every year and have had mixed results so hopefully I improve my tactics each planting in regard to proper watering, fertilizer and necessary cold snap for a good garlic yield.

The price was reasonable compared to some of the other providers.
The bones and the cloves were smaller than I was anticipating and hoping for. There were quite a few brown and dry cloves, but I did get a decent amount of germination after soaking the bulbs overnight.

Nice garlic
The garlic bubs were a good size and arrived well. I planted them all over my yard trying to keep bugs away from my herbs, tomato and other veggie plants and to my surprise they sprouted super fast in less than a week. My other plants seem to have less bugs now so I think planting the garlic around them is working. I also planted at least one clove next to my baby pecan tree, grape vine and 4 other small fruit trees for the same reason and those sprouted too, though I still have lots of ants (and maybe aphids) on the grape vine. If all goes well in a few months I'll be harvesting way too much garlic, lol.

Hard neck variety in bag
Healthy garlic bulbs arrived on time for fall planting. Did not give a 5 star due to one bulb being a hard neck variety. Not sure what type, didn’t realize until they started growing scapes.
