I bought this to use as a compact antenna for my DX-380 shortwave receiver, and overall am pleased with its performance. It probides good signals for its compact size, and its directionality teally helps in tuning out local noise sources that interfere with receltion in my area. The construction is solid and it is easy to use.

This unit may have a manufacturing flaw. The reception is extremely poor.

Im giving it 5 stars because it does pick up AM radio stations with directivity and noise rejection. It works. I don't know how flat the return loss is on frequency ranges, but it does received well. I did not use the external amplifier. I plugged the loop directivity into my spectrum analyzer in a passive configuration. Loop performes like a loop. With sharp nulls broadside.
