Pretty decent, maybe too bright for solo pieces.
Quite good tone, if a little thin sounding (occasionally quite tinny on the E string). Plain A string can help eliminate finger noise (looks nicer too). Quite thin strings however, so they can seem a little loose and dead (on the bottom strings). They seem to prefer being played with a celluloid pick, rather than nylon, as the softer edge of celluloid dampens the higher harmonics somewhat. On my Deering Sierra they are slightly too bright, and a little slack for my liking (G especially), deering's own strings are slightly thicker, and sound a bit warmer at the lower end.

Great product, but learn from my mistakes
I've been using D'Addario guitar strings for years now, so it made sense to use them when restringing an Irish tenor banjo, that I bought s/h,and unseen. The person I bought it from had just used cut down ball end guitar strings on it,which I found strange, but I realised why, when it took me the best part of an hour to restring it, using proper loop end strings.Firstly,do them one at a time,or else the bridge will move.2.Slide the colour code paper off the thin end,and not the loop end.3.Try to bend the wound end of the string above the loop down,so that it is easier to hook it under the small teeth in the tailpiece. This is fiddly, and requires several minutes of swearing to get the job done.It may help to wind the string on the machine head first, hook it on, then wind on, and pray that it stays hooked on.4.Try to get it roughly in tune, and leave it for a while.5.Whatever you do,don't cut the strings, until you have them in tune. You may find the loop is not properly hooked on, as you increase the tension,so you may end up doing it all again. The strings sound fantastic, so worth it in the end.

Silly me
Great strings as always, you can pay more for similar but these have never let me down even when hard playing just one problem and the fault is mine I bought ball end instead of loop, so I will have to go buy a banjo that uses ball end lol any excuse init much to my better half's disgust 😬 🫣 I know i could send them back but like I said any excuse banjo number six on the horizon 😀

BRIGHT TONE, GOOD QUALITY AND VALUE
I haven't used these strings yet but I've had them a couple of times before and always been pleased with them. No break-offs at the loops on the lightest gauges like some other makes They have a very bright tone which is good for me because I don't use picks. I use Chicago Tuning (Like the first 4 guitar strings) and finger pick in a bluegrass style. Some dealers recommend heavier gauges for this tuning but I find them ideal and I'm sure they are well suited to jazz tuning
