The 1 Inch Trap Bar That I've Been Looking For
If you're like me and you've been looking for a trap bar that can accommodate 1 inch weight plates, then you know how difficult it can be to find one. There aren't many options to select from and the available options are usually close to $200. I was pleased to finally see an option that was half the price of the competitors and thankfully, it delivers in terms of quality and performance. I've tested out a few exercises and so far so good. It works as intended for Trap Bar Deadlifts, RDLs, Shrugs , Farmer's Walks. You can also do Lunges, Rows and Overhead Presses with it as well. You can technically put in a landmine attachment for landmine exercises but it's very awkward due to there only being one bar on the side so I wouldn't recommend that. Both the high and low handles on the bar feel comfortable to grip onto. No issues with the knurling. I haven't come close to hitting the maximum weight limit on this yet but I'll update my review if I encounter any issues. Loading the plates onto the bar is a breeze when you turn the bar upright. No issues with adding or removing the 1 inch plates as they slide on and off the bar fairly smoothly. PROS: - Sturdy and good quality. - Can hold a good amount of plates unlike other trap bars - Fairly easy to assemble. I very rarely put stuff together and have no idea what I'm doing and it took me about 30-40 minutes (Note - You'll need your own wrench for some of the bolts) - Flipping it upright makes it easy to load and unload the weights - When the bar is upright, the two stands actually have wheels and you can wheel it around for easy maneuvering - Comes with an adapter to use with 2 inch weight plates or to store in a bar holder with 2" holes. - Easy to store when not in use CONS: - The paint is starting to chip a bit on the part where you slide the plates on it. - When it arrived, the parts in the box were a bit messy and some bags had some dirt or debris in them. Be prepared to vacuum afterwards. If you're looking for a 1 inch trap bar, this is the one to get. I would only consider other 1 inch trap bar options on Amazon if you need a bar that has a higher weight capacity like the TDS brand on Amazon but that costs more than 2.5x this one.

No brainer for the price and for people with standard weight plates
I'm in the middle of building out my home gym. I would consider myself a seasoned lifter with about 20 years of experience (35 y.o. now) due to it being one of my interests as well as playing a ton of physical contact sports in H.S. I received about 300lbs of standard 1 inch plates from a friend for free due to them moving out of state so figured I'd build my home gym around them instead of spending more money to buy olympic plates. This open trap bar for the price and overall quality is a no brainer. I'm not a huge fan of barbells (history of injuries there and always seem to pinch something) so focus my workout around heavy dumbbells, bodyweight movements with weighted vest, and cables movements. However, I do love my deadlifts so wanted to invest in an open trap bar as it's much easier on the back (for me). I also prefer this over a closed hex bar because I also want to use it for lunges. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble with only an adjustable wrench and I'm not an expert with tools by any means. It's extremely sturdy and fortunately I had no issues during installation. I saw some other reviews where the trap bar is either angled weird or had fitment issues with the bolts. So far I've done deadlifts with two 45lb plates on each side and it worked fine. The 500lb or so weight capacity is more than enough for me and the highest I'd go is probably three 45lb plates on each side. My only gripes on this is the handle bars are well on the thick end which may cause fatigue in your grip faster. I bought some hand wraps to help with this. Also, you are stuck with a relatively wide grip. The low grips are around 25" apart and the high grips are well over 30" apart. I prefer a little bit more narrow as I'm 5'10 and especially like the open trap bars from other brands that have rotating handle grips but those are over $200. All in all, I'd recommend it based on my experience.

Pretty good product.
This was a great buy for my home gym in the basement. Was fairly easy to put together and more heavy duty than what I expected. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is they mid drilled a hole, but was easy enough to fix.

Would not buy again.
The grips all bolt together, and one side shifts in my hand when I pick up and set down. Its still usable but annoying. I also use bumper plate, and the attachments that convert the bar to hold the plates appear to be warped as neither side will let the plate slide fully to the base of the rod holding it. It is still functional to use, but it makes the weight slightly uneven between sides, and I dont expect it to last. Would not buy again.

Perfect addition to home gym
What a great product, especially if you have the 1 inch standard plates. High quality and adds so many different exercises you can do. Perfect for shrugs, upright rows what the single top handle, great for deadlifts, also great for above the head shoulder press. Great price and I highly recommend it.

Perfect size for 5'9" to 6'1"ish
Very pleased. I love this bar. Assembly was pretty easy. You will need two wrenches or sockets or combo of the two. Everything fit perfectly and was very solid after building it. I would not recommend for smaller people. I'm 5'10" and weigh around 235. It was the perfect size for my build. The grip positions might be a little too wide for someone with a smaller wingspan. So far, I've used it for Bent over rows and Deadlifts. It is so ergonomic for me. It is a pleasure to use. I lucked out with the size. I've others that just didn't feel quite right. I am looking forward to using this on a regular basis. Again, I am very pleased and impressed with this unit. 😀

This is a perfect trap bar for a small home gym. The way it stands up makes it easy to load/unload and store it against the wall later. Currently deaflifting 225 on it. Holds up fine, although it's multi-piece design is probably not the best if you intend on *dropping* the bar like a power lifter. Beauty...

Excellent beginners trap bar. Good value for money and holds a lot of weight.

I've been looking for a reasonably priced standard 1 inch trap bar for several years. Shipping was a few days late. Easy to assemble. Do not tighten the bolts until everything is together. That will save you some time. More than strong enough for the weights I'll be using.
